I was just wondering why I get SO thirsty after a binge (lasting from a couple of hours afterwards and continuing into the next day). Of course, this is apart from the bloating and gassy feeling from shoving more food into my body than it needs.

Does this happen to anyone else?

Most binges are carb-heavy, right? And every gram of carbs that you eat holds on to 3 - 4 grams of water. So lots of carbs means lots of thirst since your body needs more water - the excess carbs are sucking it up.

This water retention after a carb binge is why someone can gain huge amounts of weight overnight, even though the calories consumed weren't that many.

So being thirsty after a binge makes sense.

Sodium as well- I had a binge on chinese food and couldn't get enough water.

i drink water like i'm moving to the desert post binge. its the salt, the carbs, and that you probably don't binge on liquids so you are dehydrated..

I think it's mainly what every one has said. The main binge foods are foods that are heavy in sugar/salt and other such foods.

These are foods that usually make you thristy... even i small doses. So in extra large doses? Yeah it will be like a water binge....

I Drink Hot Water After A Binge. It Cleanses My System. Like Hot Water Gets The Grease Off Dishes, It Helps Our Bodies.
