When we binge and then become hateful to ourselves we only feed the cyclical binge eating process. The self hatred is just as uncontrollable as the binge, and we become lost in the both of them. That is when you need an understanding support system to provide the compassion we are unable to give to ourselves. So, don’t beat yourself up my dear, give yourself some compassion and understanding and know that you are absolutely doing the best you can. Two weeks is fantastic! That is incredible, and not only do you deserve to celebrate your accomplishments, but to give yourself a break. I’ve been there, and I know that when I binge after doing well for such a long time I will go over board one night, then get so caught up in that one slip up that I begin a full blown long-term binge, then wonder why I didn’t just didn’t let go of that one first binge. Don’t let this one binge lead to just one more, than two more, then three, etc. Let it pass over you! Hope this helps, because I may need a pep-talk similar to this sometime (5 days binge free!)
