OH my God! I feel you.

Usually I get the urge to binge eat in the middle of the afternoon at work/school and I'll start obsessing about what I'm going to buy on the way home to stuff my face with. (usually cookies/chocolate/chips) I find the only thing that helps is actually going into the store and buying a healthier alternative that is VERY filling. I don't tend to keep these alternatives at home because I will eat them all.

This is SO hard to do sometimes though, especially when you're telling yourself you're gonna binge this ONE time and then you'll be good. The thing is, it's never one more time, you really have to be conscious of what you are putting in your mouth ALL the time. Think about how you will feel after you eat it. Energized and satisfied? Or bloated and guilty? That can help you to make a better choice.

I usually opt for Smart Pop popcorn with some seasoning, I allow myself to eat the whole bag because it has a high fiber content and is a low cal/high volume food. For sweet cravings try a glass of chocolate milk as soon as you feel like you're starting to obsess about food then MAKE yourself wait 15 mins and you may find the urge is gone. Often binging is the result of low blood sugar and is your body's way of telling you to get your blood sugar up quick.

If you're sure it's an emotional trigger, try going for a walk away from any easy food source, the exercise will naturally lift your mood. This way you're switching a bad habit for a good one, again, tough to do but you must make yourself do it at first, after a couple weeks it will be an easy decision. I really hope some of that helped Good luck hun!

I'm so sorry you are feeling so down. I know how bad it feels after you've eaten so much you actually feel sick. Sick to your stomach and sick with yourself. I know just getting on here and looking at everyones before and after pics and reading supportive posts is getting me through a really tough time. I find that if I have lot's of healthy choices in the fridge, I have less of a reason to binge. I go to the farmers market every tuesday and buy tons of fresh veggies. I chop them all into bite size pieces and put them in ziplocks. This way when I'm hungry I can just mix up a stir fry, or pop a few red pepper slices in some low-fat dip....whatever. It just makes it easier to make better choices. I ALWAYS take a little ziplock full of cut up veggies, a piece of cheese, and a couple of crackers with me whenever I go out. This way if I'm out for longer than expected, I don't get tempted to go to a drive through take out like Mcdonalds.

I know your going through a hard time, but just know that people who you've never even seen....really care about you. Keep posting and talking about how your feeling....we'll lean on each other.
