Got the taxes done. It took me all morning. I just didn't have the time and energy before this morning. I had one meal last night so I think that I have a bit more energy today than I have had. It is good to have them done. My husband earned a lot of his income last year as a self employed person so for about 11000 dollars of our income last year we had to worry about taxes not paid in. Toward the end of the year, we both got regular jobs and claimed no deductions so that we would pay in the maximum tax possible.

With how low our income is, with the child tax credits, the mortgage interest and the "earned income credit" we are getting 700 back from the Feds, and 181 from the state. Pretty good considering we only paid the feds a little over 1000 dollars and only paid the state 181.

I'm just glad we didn't have to pay this year. I was sweating it since my husband lost his job and I'm the sole earner right now.

Good job with that one. I pray that as I lose the kids as deductions I can still get back over the next few years.

Just mailed my taxes tonite. I have had them done for at least 6 weeks but since I owed money, waited til today to mail them. I owed 209 to federal and 12 to state. This wasn't too surprising. Don't think I've had a refund in years. Usually owe more than this. Glad to get it over with for another year. IRS lost my 2003 return and it took sending it 5 times before they finally got it straitght.
