Talking SHAKES, snack or full meal???

Ok I bought the Atkins approved shakes and here is my question. If I am feeling hungry and only want a snack, can I have one? OR is this a complete meal replacement. I am on induction right now. Sometimes I get hungry, and I crave one of these shakes, but I dont know if I am suppose to use them for that or if I am supposed to do a full meal replacement. -Sandra

I use them for both. Last night I had one as dinner, then other times I take one to work with me in case I get hungry in the middle of the night. I guess I don't know the "rules" for them, but so far so good using them for both for me.

What flavor do you like? And did you buy the Atkins? Just curious...

Technically the shakes aren't on the induction foods. But I'm of the opinion if you're on the go or want something chocolate.....go for that rather than full carb junk food. And I think it's supposed to be a replacement for a meal. Try it and see if it'll hold you til the next meal/snack

It's a meal replacement item, and they can really be yummy, but they stalled me. So be careful. My mother (who is a major chocoholic!) is on Atkin's and was eating the Morning Start bars as dessert after a meal (sometimes 2). She gained 4 pounds. LOL She was in denial that it was possibly the bars, but I convinced her to cut them out and see what happens... she dropped 6.

I didn't care for the shakes, but I do eat the bars. Doing Atkins, I ate whenever I was hungry, not at set times. Some days I ate all day long and I still lost weight. I'm trying this other low-carb plan for 60 days to see how it works and if doesn't, then I'm going back to Atkins.

I didn't worry about snacks vs meals -- when I was hungry, I grabbed protein -- shrimp dipped in butter with garlic salt is my favorite thing -- I'd eat a pound bag of shrimp in one sitting. Steak is my other.

Even though it says Induction Friendly on the can, my book doesn't mention it on my induction food list. If you can stick it out, I think it's important to follow exactly what's on the food list in the book before adding other things in because you don't know how shakes, bars, etc may effect your weightloss, and you'll have no baseline for comparison if you eat them from the beginning .

Try hard boiled eggs, deviled eggs, celery w/cream cheese, etc. for snacks, and stick to meat, eggs, cheese and legal veggies for meals. I think you'll have outstanding results if you stick with induction as written.

Can you stand to stay off the scale for two weeks? You're way more disciplined than I am LOL. You're going to be so surprised, and I can't wait to hear your results!
