  • Good Morning

Its blowing, and snowing, and feels like a really good day to stay in the house close to the fire!! Not going to happen tho

Yahh Sue you're still here.... Im glad

Liv~ good for you getting thru the weekend!! Even with the car troubles!!

Dh went and did some christmas shopping yesterday. I was out for my walk when he got back so I didnt get to see if he had BIG bags or small bags Everything is all hidden away already....boy is on the ball!

Tenn~ I made the pumpkin sausage soup last night for today.....Man O Man is it good. I spiced it up a bit more, and once everything melds together, its going to be an awesome soup! I did double the sausage, so it would give me 20 grams of protein per serving. Next time I'll use the hot and spicy sausage instead of the orginal (jimmy dean's stuff) Thank you again for the recipe!!

Ive been scouring the lc recipe sites for new recipes....stuff thats really filling like the cheeseburger soup. I think today might be a good day to head to the library and see if I can find a few more lc cookbooks.

Have a great op day ladies!
  • Brenda, hope it's just a passing thing and that you aren't actually getting sick. Are you taking suppliments? Drinking your water?

Great idea on imagining the tin if full of a big blob of icky fat Lacey! I'll have to remember that one I will be so happy when the holidays are over and the cookies and fudge disappear for another year!

Andrea, I hope you get your car situated soon. Not just a thermostadt, huh?

Robin, I'm so glad you liked the soup! Did it taste like you expected it to? I don't know what I expected it to taste like when I made it the first time, but I was surprised! I've made it a couple times and edited the recipe, once adding sage sausage, and once leaving the Italian seasoning out and adding some curry and cumin to taste. It was good all threse ways

I got ALL my water in yesterday, and have got 20 oz down so far today. I don't know why i've been struggling with it so much lately.

I'm starving today for some reason. I ate 4 eggs this morning, twice what I usually have, and I'm ready for lunch and it's an hour away. Maybe just a little anxious because I'm going home tomorrow? I'm excited and happy about seeing everyone, but Moms illness tempers those feelings I guess.
  • Hey Ladies, Just a quick check in. DH and I going to look at different apartments today. Going to rent out our house,
anyways FELL OFF THE WAGON for the last two days. But back on today! I'll write more later,
    have a wonderful day ladies!

    EM
  • Quote: Once again I'm on the fly. Today I'm meeting the church ladies (different ones from last night), then coming home and getting ready to take oldest DD to the orthodentist (she broke a bracket off). Then rush her home, then rush to go to youngest DD's GS meeting. Then afterwards take her Christmas shopping. Did I mention in all that I'm not really feeling too well? I have a minor headache, my throat is sore and my belly feels blech. Hmm.....flu? Just what I need!! NOT!!!
Do you ever get a day off? You're always on the go...stop it!! You're exhausting ME . Try to get some rest in to fight off those ickies!!

Hi Em, Mindy & Sue - nice to see you are all still here .

Have a great day everyone .
  • Tenn~ I really didnt know what to expect. I like pumpkin loafs, and muffins and what not, but Ive never eaten pumpkin done any other way (I dont like the pies) It was alot sweeter than I expected, but very delicious. Dh says its definitely a "do-again"
  • Well, the total car replacements parts include; new spark plugs, new rotor, new spark plug wires, new ignition coil, new MAP sensor, and distributor cap....my dad and I put all of those in over the weekend and nothing worked. Well, today he checked one more things and then gave up. The service station about a 1/2 mile away was going to charge me $40 to tow it there (<1/2 mile!!!) so....we pushed it Well, OK, it coasted some of the way... So they are going to work on it tomorrow. We'll see if they can figure it out. Hopefully even just bringing it in their shop overnight will help thaw it out and dry it out (antifreeze and oil in all the wrong places doesn't help especially when it's below zero outside).

Those tasty lip glosses...well, they're not only tasty to humans... It was a joint effort; Leo knocked the S'mores tube off the table and Rusty chewed on it and dug some of the gloss out. My nephew didn't want it too much after that

This whole night I've felt like it was about 3 hours later than it was. I feel like it's midnight; I'm so tired!!! Darn DVR is too inviting so I'm watching my favorite show, House, without having to watch the commercials. THEN I'm going to bed...really...I swear.

    Sleep good everyone!
    ~Andrea
  • Lacey: How'd the shopping go? Yup, I'm feeling better and the headaches are coming less frequently and less severe. Thanks for asking

Robin: So any clue what DH got you? Did you have to make a list or does he guess?? I should try the cheeseburger soup. I'm not very adventurous in eating but SHOULD try and branch out.

Tenn: Great job on getting the water down! Keep up the great work on that!!

    EM:

Stacie: You know, I don't remember ever being this busy when I had a paying job (part-time). Not sure what the difference now is--and yes, I need to slow down. I hate all this running!!

Andrea: I would love to get a DVR. I miss too many shows I would love it if my VCR would even work! Ever watch "Takes a Thief"??? Great show!!

Well, today is not so rushed I still have a couple things from the store to get, then a few odds and ends from the grocery store, and then it's home to wait for the DD's from early dismissal from school. Then I'm hoping to get them to help straighten up the house today. Not a busy day I'm feeling much better and not sure what the deal was yesterday. Just glad it wasn't worse than it was! Found out DH's brother & his wife have decided not to get anyone presents (except her and his mom & dad--yah, right!!). Well, besides her kids that is. I'll believe that when I see it. I think it's just another way for her to cut DH out of her husbands (his brother) life. Well, and me. I seem to have done something to tick her off--even DH said so. So I'm going to write a NICE (no, not nasty. Truly nice) note to find out what her problem is and mail it We'll see how things go from there. Not that I want presents. That's not the point. It's that she's controlling her DH into not spending time with his brother. After my DH spent a whole summer (ok, TWO summers!) helping them build their house!! Trying hard not to be bitter on that one!! Ok. Done griping
  • Just a quick "HI" before I catch a plane home. I'll be gone two weeks, but should be able to pop in now and then to stay caught up with y'all. If it doesn't work out that way, I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas'!!!

    Tenn
  • Happy Holiday's ladies. I'm sorry I haven't been around but between the holiday hustle bustle and then my adoptive grandfather passing away yesterday because of cancer I have been very stressed. I did gain back a little bit of the 265 I had loss, but am still under the 270 mark which I am very happy for. I wish each and everyone of you a very Merry Christmas and an extra wonderful Happy New Year's! I probably won't be on much or at all before the end of the year. Talk to you in 2006.
  • Good Morning

Liv~ I like house too....but lately just staying up to watch it til 10 has been quite the feat for me Last night was a repeat....so I gave up and was in bed by 9:15 I hope they get your car figured out soon!

Brenda~ Sounds like your sil is a piece of work! Do you live very far from them? Can your dh, just call up his brother, and invite him over for a beer? Something like that? I have problems with women who manipulate their spouses too....this is why my dh is only allowed to call and talk to his son "directly" when we need information about things (like holidays, birthdays and get togethers) This all started with the 3 days before he(son) was to be deployed to iraq back in january...my dil put my dh thru ****, and I'll never forgive her for it! I hope you get it worked out....at the very least get your dh and his brother to spend some quality "brother" time together.

Em~ how did the apt hunting go? Have you rented out your house already? Sounds like a stressful time....Im thinking about you....hang in there

Tenn~ when are you leaving? Are you going to have net access? Have a wonderful holiday with your family!!

Kel~ I think it was you that asked me if my dil that now has a job, is the one with the clotting problem. Yup, thats her. Have you ever met anyone that can time their hospital emergencies on specific days??????? She never ceases to amaze me! Every time, it takes the importance of the day away from everyone else and on her. I know I sound bitter, and I know her illness is serious, but I can't get over the feeling that we are all being manipulated! She has done so many things, and told so many lies(right to my face) when I knew they were lies, that I just dont trust her. I dont trust what she tells us about her illness. I get dh to call his son, and find out if he "heard" it straight from the doctor. (In a not so obvious manner) Anyway enough about her...I had a rant about her to dh yesterday too She's getting baking pans for xmas, because Im tired of getting mine back all rusty

Phew...thanks Kel for letting me unload

A bit more christmas shopping to do today. Dh is really into it this year. Its kinda fun!! We have never really done anything like this before. Usually he just stops and picks up gift certificates for his kids. But this year, he has one son back from Iraq, and one son in sweden with a new wife coming to visit. So he's had to put some thought into his gifting this year.

Nope, I havent a clue Brenda what he bought. I have given him a few ideas...a kitchen aide mixer, a specific chair from pier one...I even brought home the pamphlet , pretty much anything from williams sonoma, then a few mentions here and there....always jewellery. But he doesnt buy alot of jewellery....so I dont know. Im definitely going to be surprised

Well, I better get showered and get ready....I'll be making alot of xmas goodies this afternoon. Dh called his son and invited them for xmas dinner, plus I want to make up a tray for the staff at the starbucks we go to. Wish me luck!! I will NOT test! I will NOT test! I will NOT test! I will NOT test!

I think Im done with my book Have a great day ladies!
  • Bec~ Im so sorry for your loss :hugs: Thoughts and prayers for your family. Enjoy your holiday

    Tenn~ Have fun!!
  • DH didn't let me get the gazelle He was in SUCH a bad mood, I regret even taking him with me. We got to the mall and he gives me a one hundred dollar spending limit for the day!!! So needless to say I will be finishing up when he is not off work. He is bi-polar and living with him is a constant roller coaster. Winter is the WORST and I can't wait until summer already.

Last night my cousin (who is a propane delivery guy) was burned so bad that they medi-flighted him to the city and that is all anyone has heard so far. No one even knows what happened yet, so everyone is pretty stressed about that right now. Not knowing is the worst.

My eating yesterday was atrocious and I didn't exercise. I had a hamburger (w/o bun) for lunch then supper was like a free for all. Made the cottage cheese/peanut butter thing, had tons of summer sausage, cheese and 2 low carb beers. I am definitely paying for it today with a 3 pound gain

Brenda: it is SO hard dealing with crappy SIL's...they have a way of trying to put all of the attention on THEM. Hope the guys can get something worked out.

Robin: sounds like you're going to be reaping some of your dh's new gift buying streak too!

Tenn: I hope you're able to have a nice relaxing visit with your family...be safe

I won't be on much so if I don't get the chance from now until then, everyone have a SUPER Christmas!!!

    Lacey
  • Brenda: Don't get DVR! You get so addicted No really, it's a great invention, but it's so easy to get hooked. Since I can record two shows at a time and also watch a previously DVR'd show at the same time, I tend to build up my list and I end up watching Monday's shows on Saturday I definitely don't miss my fave shows unless I record too much at once and it cancels one of the recordings to record another show I picked. I have watched "It Takes a Thief" and isn't it scary how easy that is to do! My new obsession is the house flipping shows (Flip This House, Flip That House, Property Ladder). Funny thing is, I haven't watched TV with commericals since I got the dumb DVR a couple months ago. I assume the novelty will wear off eventually and then it will be more convenience than anything...but unil then...I'm hooked!

Bec: I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather. My dad's mom and my mom's dad died on new year's one year apart so as tough as it'd be any time of the year, the holiday-time makes it even more real to me because I can just picture the traditions that have changed because they're not around.

Robin: Last night's House was a repeat? Weird, I never saw that one before. OH! But what really sucked was that there was about 5 minutes left of the show where they were just going to reveal what was really wrong with the nun, but then there was a breaking news bulletin and I never found out what was wrong with her. I assume she was OK because that's the show, but I was so heated after that happened!

Lacey: Have you ever talked to anyone about light therapy for the extra-tough winter months for your DH?

For everyone who talked about IL's: I completely empathize! My BIL is just one of those people who's so overly polite that it gets sickening and he thinks he's the smartest thing so anything he knows a teeny bit about, he goes out of his way to prove it to everyone! And his family is even worse than he so we try to avoid them as much as possible. All I can say to him is, "Thank you for my beautiful niece!"

One more full day of work then off Friday and Monday and then three days next week just to be off Friday and Monday again! I will make it to the end of the day tomorrow without going crazy!

    Have a great day!
    Andrea
  • Oh my goodness Lacey...I hope your cousin is alright!! Im sorry your dh is being Mr. Crankypants! I only have an idea how the bi-polar effects the family. We have a neighbour who is bi-polar, but he is one of the extreme ones, with some OCD tossed in for good measure. I wish you a speedy winter!
  • Bec - I'm so sorry about your loss. My thoughts & prayers are with you & your family!!

Brenda - I'd be bitter if it were me . She sounds as if she's jealous of you for some reason. Perhaps your BIL made a comment about you (looks, talents, etc) that pee'd her off and now she blames you for it? Pure speculation of course . I had a girlfriend who went thru something similar and it was because of something like this.

I love the show House too, but always forget when it's on & usually miss it. Maybe next week LOL.

Tenn - have a wonderful holiday!!!!!

Robin - does your DIL have VwD by chance? Just wondering because of the clotting problem you mentioned. As for the gift...have you ever rec'd a chia pet before? Just a thought . Ironically, speaking of them, I haven't noticed the 500 commercials/day they usually have on at this time of year.

Lacey - my thoughts & prayers are with your cousin. Sorry you weren't able to get your gazelle. My mom has bi-polar & she was a nightmare to live with.

Hope everyone has a great day & to those of you off for Christmas, if I haven't missed you already - Have a GREAT holiday!!!!!!!
