Weekly Chat for November 28th to Dec. 4th
Morning Chickies, it's been awhile since I've been here. Things going on in my life and I have let food control it for about 2 weeks now. I was down to 266 right the week before Thanksgiving, now, I don't even want to hop on the scale. I am going hard core induction this week and really need people to be kicking me in my butt all week long so I stay on top of this. I will weigh in next week, to scared to do it now....maybe I should so I can see what I have done to myself but I know it will only have the reverse affect on me. I posted my meal plan for the day w/our Christmas challenge and I am going to aeorbics tonight. Until tomorrow chickies......hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Good Morning :sunny:
Its suppose to go up to 62 here today....that foot of snow that fell on Saturday, is pretty much all gone already!! Well, another 6lbs are gone :carrot: its been a bit of a struggle, but like dh says, just one day at a time. I have to remember to lean on him a bit more. He knows his stuff ;) Im hoping that in about 1-2 more weeks, my pants Ive been wearing will be too big, and the 16's will fit.....thats when the ones Im wearing get tossed! Im NOT going to let myself get to this point again!!!! Dh got the pc upstairs up and working....all the favourites, and photos are saved. Im hoping all the recipes I had saved are still there. I didnt have the heart to check last night. He got done reloading everything at about 9 last night....was a bit tense for a while. All our sign shop had been saved about 3 days ago, so that was ok. Other than being a big pain in the butt, it seems ok. Signs to make today, since its so warm, I'll venture out for a walk too. Not much else planned tho. Have a great day ladies! |
Congrats to Star
:carrot: hello everyone, I am new and I really need some help, I was looking for a place to belong and I think I found it...Star you look Marvelous...I have really let myself go and I want to get on track. I am looking around and hope to find enough advice to get started today!
|
Bec:  Don't forget the water :)
Robin: Look at you go! Congrats on the weight loss and you WILL be in those jeans before much longer! Keep up the awesome work!! Iwasskinnyonce: :welcome: You've come to the right place. We love to encourage others all the while we learn also!! Jump right in!! Well, I stepped on the scale and found out the damage. YIKES! So I have to re-do my goals for the Christmas for Me!! Also told DH that I need to get a grip on things and quit making excuses! Excuses got me where I was to begin with...and excuses could make me there again!! So time to get serious!! everyone |
Hi all you low carbers. I hope you're all doing great today.
Hi Bec, I'm so glad you're back on plan. Keep up the good work. :carrot: Robin, All right! 6 pounds! :bravo: I'm glad to hear the everything was save on the computer. That makes the hair on my head stand up thinking about that happening. iwasskinnyonce, Welcome! It's so nice to have you here joining in. :wel3fc: Brenda, Yea!!! You can do it!!! :cheer: I know excuses. Now that I found my missing shoelace, I don't have an excuse not to excersice. Not much going on here at all today. It's raining, so I'm doing the never ending organizing and weeding out of things. Where does it all come from? It's like stuff reproduces by itself into these piles. |
Welcome iwas~ :welcome3: what kind of advice are you looking for? What plan are you on, and have you done any reading up on your plan yet? I suggest if your on Atkins, to read the book first, or hit the atkins website for "how-tos" We can certainly help out with ideas, on what works for us, and what doesnt.
This is a great spot for support :) |
Hi girls!!! It's cold as all get out here, I seriously can't feel my fingertips!!
(I bet you're all sighing with relief because I won't be so lengthy today! AHAHAH) This is my second day eating only eggs and I'm not sure I can last a third but I did want to see if it would throw me off of the stall. I read it in another forum and figured it was worth a shot! Robin: CONGRATS!!! I'm so proud of you :carrot: :carrot: Hi to all the newbies, you've found the right place to come for inspiration and encouragement :) Have a nice WARM day girls!! Lacey |
all eggs? blah!! I couldnt do it!! I hope it knocks you out of your stall....Im thinking your going to need some serious fibre tho! :lol3: Let us know how it works.
|
I just found the most earth shattering quote (for me) by Bill Cosby that I have to post before I forget it. Actually I think I'll add it to my growing sig AHAHA. oh, it is:
Decide that you want it more than you are afraid of it Isn't that spectacular! |

Hi All, I've finally recovered from Thanksgiving, back to losing weight.
Lacey: Good luck with the eggs, is it working? :welcome3: Iwasskinnyonce |
Beckamundo: Where did you get your cute avatar/icon?
|
It's so cool to have new people - welcome everyone!! I'm pretty new myself, but I can tell ya that you'll never find a nicer group of folks anywhere on the 'net :)
6 POUNDS!!! :carrot: Go Girl! :carrot: That's totally awesome, not long now till those pants fall off ya! (and you send them to me to try to squeeze into LOL) All eggs? I hope it works cause it's gotta be gettin' to ya! I'll be rooting for you. Go Becka Go! I imagine the day will come when I fall off the carb wagon with a 10 pound thud, and it's inspiring to see you recover rather than give up. Today was OK, but I only lost 1 measly pound. *sigh* I really wanted it to be a big week since I didn't cheat on Thanksgiving and am feeling proud. I think the complete lack of exercise is taking it's toll, and I don't know that I'll get big numbers until my foot heals and I'm at it again. Good news in the mail though! I got my lipid test back from the Dr. and I'm completely blown away. Even though I read the book and understood what I was reading, I had my doubts. I eat bacon, cheese, sour cream, and a host of other full fat stuff that's supposed to send cholesterol through the roof and give me a heart attack at 45. I really didn't believe my blood work would be that good, and I was almost afraid to look. Total = 140, triglycerides = 50. Wooo Hoooo! I sent a copy of it my parents *hint, hint*. I hope they let me cook LC for them when I go home for a visit at Christmas so they see you don't have to starve! ;) Hope y'all have a great OP evening! Tenn |
Morning Chickies~
I am doing pretty good today, went to aerobics :carrot: last night and about died. Felt good though. Tonight I will be riding on my bike :ebike: while watching The Biggest Loser. Induction is going good and I got all my water in yesterday;) . It is amazing how much better I feel even after one day of being OP:D . I got a call from the company I had the 2 interviews with, they filled the position :^: , but would like to use me as seasonal help during the harvest:) . I said that was fine especially w/my home-based business doing really well right now:p . I will put my food log :write: on the Christmas to Me thread. Robin~KUDOS on the loss!!:bravo: You go girl, what are you doing to drop it like that? I would LOVE  to follow in your path. What a great hubby you have!! Iwasskinnyonce~:welcome: :welcome3: :wel3fc: :welcome2: This is a GRRREAT website for wonderful support and advice:gossip: . There is lots to be found on here and it is just AMAZING  at how this people who have never met you are there supporting you:grouphug: , cheering :cheer: you on, kicking you :rollpin: in the butt if need be, or crying  along side of you. Good luck with this journey and know that myself and others are here for you and cheering :cheer: you on!! You GO GIRL!! Brenda~I got in my water. Thanks for reminding me of it though. When you go for awhile w/out it it makes it a little harder to get back in the swing of things. Sorry to hear that the scale :nono: wasn't nice, but knowing from my own experience, it is because I did it to myself. WE CAN do this and we are gonna make this week an OP week!!! :) Sonny~Did you get all the organizing done?? :?: It is an never ending process isn't it? Hope you got some exercise :carrot: in there also. Lacey~WOW, just eggs:chef: ??? How is that going? I will be very interested in reading how that is working out for you. Is is just eggs :chicken: for every meal or can you add some onions and peppers to eat or even some meat:ink: ? Let us all know how that turns out! I like eggs, but I'm not sure I could do it for every meal for 3 days. Liv4ok~I love what you said about Tae Bo,:joker: but for me any exercise program (aerobics, steps, dance:dancer: , etc.) I'm flairing :lol3: around like a chicken. I guess it really doesn't matter what we look like as long as we are moving and getting the exercise in. I love your before and after pictures and I am really glad that you are here and sharing w/all of us. Like you, there are so many here that have come so far and it just helps me know that YES I can do this, so the progress that the others have made. THANK YOU and EVERYONE ELSE!! The avatar is one from this website, go into quick links and I believe it is signature or profile...it is there. Maybe someone else has the right answer, but I got it from here. Mindy~I know what you mean about Thanksgiving :turkey: is over time to get OP again, so hard though...the stuffing is in the fridge, the green bean casserole, the cheesecake:hungry: ......I could go on and on, but I won't. I did stay away from it all yesterday so I am very proud of myself for that. Tenn~I know what you mean about having so many people here sharing :cofdate: their successes, struggles:stars: , what works:hug: , and what doesn't work with us:headache: . I had been gone for a little of a week and a half and it is GREAT to come back and see even MORE happy faces:) . KUDOS on the loss:goodscale . Look at it this way, it isn't a gain. And yes, I am upset about the gain, but hey....I'm back to working out and doing what is right and healthy! I am soooo glad to hear about your test results:bravo: , isn't it great to know that the 'healthy' food or so they tell us isn't the 'only' way to go. I truly believe that everyone's body is different and that you have to find what is good for you not the person next to you. Good luck exercising w/the foot, maybe just some sit-ups, reverse crunches, pilates until it is healed? Well chickies, I'm off talk to you all more tomorrow and have a great & OP day! |
My last Character Developement class was last night. I have to admit I'm VERY glad I took it. It's HARD (because you have to dig up issues you've just buried and claimed to have accepted..and then figure out where to go from there), but well worth it. Now I have to figure out how to continue on this way instead of stagnating!! I want to grow, but sometimes it's very scary. Oh, and for those that don't know, the CD class was a class put on by the church I go to. Eating was good yesterday but I think there was some hidden carbs somewhere (perhaps in the gravy that was mixed w/the leftover turkey?). Well, at least it's a start :)
|
Good morning everyone.
Robin - WTG girl :carrot: :cp:. That is awesome! You are doing amazing...keep up the great losin'. I would actually keep the pants...for now! When I lost all my weight the 1st time, I pitched everything (well, gave it to charity actually). When I reached my goal, I actually wished I had kept a pair of my largest jeans so I could get a picture of me holding them. Corny sounding I know, but seeing that difference would have been amazing and I think a total motivator to have kept it off. I don't think I would have regained this much if I'd had that picture stuck on my fridge. Liv - LOL about the robots. I totally agree! Lacey - how's it goin' with those eggs? Kudos to you - I couldn't do it unless I never planned on having eggs again for the rest of my life . That is a great quote! Tenn - 1 pound is awesome :carrot:. Next time you cook up a pound of ground beef just think you don't have that on your body anymore! WTG on those #'s :bravo:. Dr. A knew what he was talking about eh? :). Bec - WTG on getting the exercise in. I think starting an exercise program is way more difficult than starting induction LOL. I personally couldn't do one or the other to lose weight, I need both LC & exercise. Iwasskinnyonce - :welcome3: to the group! Looking forward to getting to know you! Brenda - sounds like an interesting class. As for me - I've had a chest cold myself since Friday that I've been trying to ignore & fight off (makes exercising really difficult when you can't breathe!!). Yesterday morning woke up and it was more a head cold & by last night it moved back into my chest, lost my voice (which my 6 year old finds really funny - ha ha ha NOT ;) ) & have a sore throat and bad cough. So, it won :( . Not exercising today - going to rest & take it easy and see if that helps. Have a great day everyone!!! TTFN! |
Good Morning :rain:
Tenn~ WTG on your test results!! That must be quit a load off your mind. Thankyou for the slipper pattern, it does look really easy!! Im going to give it a try. WTG on your lb lost! :bravo: Could you also resend the xmas list to me pls. I accidentaly deleted it :( Bec~ Ive been on induction for the last 2 weeks, and Ive decided to stay on it at least anothe week. If things slow down, Im going to give what Lacey is doing a try, meat and eggs for a week. You can check out my menu's on the christmas to me thread. Thats what I eat, everything is kept under 20 carbs, and if I dont feel full enough, I eat more meat. I usually have 3-4 chicken thighs, or a large chicken breast, full can of tuna if Im not having any veggies with it...stuff like that. I have noticed that when I eat more eggs in a week, I loose more. So there must be something to it. Its nice to see so many new folks around... Food was good yesterday...dhubs is amazing! I told him I never want to be here again (again) he got this funny look on his face, and I asked him what he was thinking.....I got the "what am I suppose to do when your eating something your not suppose to? I try to take it away....Im taking my life in my hands?" Poor guy  cuz he's right, he is so supportive and helpful, but when Im eating that potato chip, Im like a mother bear protecting her cub :lol3: take it, and your dead meat!! So I told him I dont know....and laughed, but I did tell him to remind me how good I look and feel when I dont eat that crap. Not much planned for today, coffee and a walk....then I dont know :dunno: have a great day ladies! |

I love it!! I wish I had something like that too....but I just cant. Make sure you show us your picture when you get there!! I'll just post a before and after :) |
Brenda: The CD class sounds extremely interesting to me, I wonder if it's something that can be done at home, like on tape or something?
Bec: Your smilies crack me up :D I weighed this morning just to see if the scales have budged at all and I officially broke my plateau. I lost 5 pounds in two days and officially weigh less than I have in 12 years. :carrot: Of course I would never recommend it to people as a fad diet or anything, I was plateaued for five weeks. For those two days it was 3 scrambled eggs for breakfast, then when I'd get hungry I'd eat a boiled egg and for lunch and supper I crushed boiled eggs up and put real mayo and a little mustard on them. (do I hate eggs, YES. :barf: But I hate the plateau worse) besides that, I didn't put anything on them or eat anything else. I'm going to stay on it just one more day since that has been the suggested time, and see if anymore weight comes off and then gradually add back meat and other induction accepted foods. (btw, I read that if you don't eat ENOUGH of the eggs and if the egg fast is not warranted, that it will throw your body into starvation mode, slow the metabolism down and have the opposite effect) I don't know if the link is accepted or not but if anyone wants to read the site where I got the egg info just pm me and I'll send it to ya :) Iwasskinnyonce: welcome aboard!! It's awesome to have you here!! Lacey |
Yahhhhhhhh Lacey!! :bravo: :cp: :hat: :cb: :flow1:  :high:  :cheer: Its good to know its working!! Keep us posted how the loss goes once you start to add back. This is way cool!! |
Lacey congrats on busting through your plateau!:cheer:
I'm wondering how others handle getting back on plan after being off for a short while. I was off plan for two days at Thanksgiving, I've been doing induction since then. Do you usually go back to induction or pick up where you left off carb wise? |
um....usually :D Getting right back on induction is ideal!!! I have such a hard time getting back on the wagon once Ive fallen off. You're doing great! Keep it up...then work your way back to your carb level.
|
:thanks: Robin, I went back to where I was carb wise before Thanksgiving and its been like a roller coaster ride. I dropped two pounds then went back up one. I had a headache again ( I always have a killer headache the first couple days I do low carb) I'm going to think twice before going off plan for the rest of the Holidays. Maybe a couple more weeks of induction will fix me up.

So, I just had an interesting visit. My friend, who used to live next to me, and who started Atkins with me in August, came over. She stopped doing Atkins when she had to move in early September so she actually gained weight over what she started at in August. She knew how I was doing on it, but we hadn't been together since she moved. She was the first non-family member who has said anything about it and she just kept pointing out things she noticed about me and I have to share how good I feel after hearing these things. It feels so good to be getting healthy and seeing results motivates me to keep going strong.
I have these folding camp chairs and for a very long time, I have always exceeded the max weight limit on the chairs and had the edges of the seat canvas digging into my thighs. Guess what?! I don't exceed the weight limit anymore and I don't overhang the edges of the seat! She's so funny...she said, "you have boobs and a stomach now. Before the boobs and the rolls were pretty even and blended together." Obviously, she was too nice to tell me all of these things when I was 60+lbs heavier, but hearing more of the things people notice but never wanted to tell you when you were fat keeps drilling in my head that I won't ever go back to that point! Have you guys felt this way...when you lose weight and you notice your clothes getting looser it's ok, but it doesn't feel real until someone else actually points it out and notices the change? I'm so proud of everyone's accomplishments! You all look awesome! Thanks for the support! |
Hi Everyone,
I used to be a frequent flyer on these boards, but I haven't been around in quite some time. Shamefully I have been gone way WAY to long. I still see a couple of the old faces in here  I'm back! Anyways let me fill you in a bit of what has been happening in my life. My husband and I split up. We agreed our marriage was more of a close friendship and decided that's the way it should stay before we lost that too. So I ventured out on my own as a single mother of 3 YIKES.. yup but I managed and in the process I have met the most wonderful man. I met him when I was at my all time low (weight wise) and he still loves me even tho I'm probably back up, if not over my all time high :( We want to have a baby and even tho I have 3 girls he doesn't have any children, and at my ripe young age of 34 some work needs to be done. Yuppers..its time for some changes and I'm going to tackle them all at once.. God help me! Starting tomorrow (Wednesday) I am going to begin my journey in quitting smoking, I'm not going cold "high carb" turkey, I'm going to ween myself. I am going start eating healthier, I'm not going completely low carb at first, I figure I'm just going to save that until after Christmas, but salads are going to be included in the menu as well as my long lost water. And I am going to start moving this big old butt again. Time to break out the Gazelle and dust 'er off. So the weigh in starts tomorrow and I'll post all the gory details then. Have a good night all, I'm so excited to be back! |
I don't know about you guys, but I have been crying for almost 2 hours!! Don't worry it's not bad...I just watched the Biggest Loser Finale... OMG I was just amazed by the amazing transformations! I'm so happy that Matt won. I liked them all, but I really wanted him to win.
They all did so good and I wish their results for all of us! |
I read all of these posts, and feel like I know each of you already!
I introduced myself in the Jaded Ladies weekly thread. I just want to say that you ALL are a HUGE inspiration! HUGE! I'm 5'5 and a half and 270 pounds. I am doing Atkins. Fell off of it for a whole month and just started again yesterday. The scale says I've lost 2 pounds already, but not sure if I buy that! I'm in a small level of ketosis now. What excercises do you ladies do to keep the pounds off? Anyone figured out how to do Atkins on a budget of some kind? Well, Take care everyone. You all are wonderful!! EM |
:welcome: EarthyMama. I often lose two pounds during the first day or two of induction, a lot of that is water weight but it still feels great to see the scale move!
:welcome2: Trazzie. Liv4rok, I'm so excited for you! It always feels great when someone notices your hard work. I love when someone points out something I haven't even noticed myself.:woo: I saw your pics on one of the other threads. Your friend is right you look great! |
Morning :) chickies!!!
Hope everyone had a OP day yesterday and a wonderful evening. I worked out :carrot: for 30 minutes yesterday and then did a mile on the bike :ebike: last night. Woo Hoo to me. Yes, I am tooting my own horn, but I am so proud of myself. I got on the scale this morning....even though I said I wouldn't and knowing what I 'weighed' after the holidays, I'm already down 6lbs:goodscale . Go Bec, Go Bec, keep it going, Go Bec. I'm on Day 3 of induction again. I'm still not to where I was before the holiday, but getting closer, I'll let you all know when I'm back to that weight!! I did 'cheat' a little last night, I needed some 'veggies' and we have no lettuce in the house and won't be getting any until the weekend so I had some leftover green bean casserole. Not the best decision, but better than the homemade mashed potatoes that the rest of the family was eating. I'll post my food over in the Merry Christmas to me thread, and today's exercise will be 30 minutes :carrot: exercise and 1 mile on the bike:ebike: . Maybe more, but no less. Stacey~Hope you get to feeling better soon!! Being sick :barf: and trying to 'workout' :tread: and eat healthy isn't easy. Drink plenty of water and get yourself to feeling better. ;) Robin~Glad that you have that supportive dh. Mine is also  , but I'm like you when I get into my 'need carbs' mode he better watch out and stay out of my way :nono: . LOL Sometimes what he says gets to me and I am good, but there are times that it doesn't matter and I just need the 'junk'. I'm hoping that as I continue on the weight loss journey that I will 'need' the junk less and less. Lacey~KUDOS on the 5lbs lost:goodscale in 2 days!!! You go girl!!! WOW eating eggs :chicken: does help you lose weight. I don't know if I could eat them w/out anything 'extra' w/them. You know, like ham:ink: , cheese:moo: , onions, green peppers, or sausage:ink: . Keep us up to date on your progress and what happens when you stop eating eggs 24/7.:bravo: Mindy~I always try and start back w/induction. It seems to throw my body back into the 'swing' of things. I may not stay on it for the 2 weeks, but at least a couple days to help rid my body of the carbs. :) Liv4rok~What an awesome feeling!! :cloud9: I would love  to have someone who hasn't seen me for awhile tell me how good I'm looking w/the weight I've lost. My sister-in-law that I haven't seen since July, well actually I saw her a couple weekends ago at a college football game but I was loaded up on clothes, so that doesn't count, right?? LOL will see me @ Christmas :gift2: and hopefully she will notice something. I am feeling so good but I want others to notice it and mention it. It gives me more motivation. I couldn't believe their results, I did feel bad :( for the one girl who didn't lose or gain any more since she left and what about Nick??? Why didn't he come back?? That was weird. I loved the show and am just glad that all those people are doing so good. I want to be them some day. And you know what, I will!! EM~Welcome!! :wel3fc: :welcome2: :welcome: :welcome3: You are so right this a wonderful support system and there are lots of great people here. Can't wait to learn more about you!!:balloons: Trazzie~:welcome3: Welcome Back!!! :welcome: I am so glad that you found love  again and that you are your man are wanting to add more to your family:bb: . That is awesome. You can do this girl and you are still young to have a healthy pregnancy:bb: . Good luck w/quitting smoking and going 'low carb'. You can do this and if there is anything I can do to help you along, just let me know. :) Have a great & OP day chickies!! |
Oh my!! Look at all these lovely new faces!! I'm in a daze today and will have to apologize for not even trying to get personals done. I feel like I haven't slept in 2 days. Well, that's my own fault for going on that week long carb-fest, right!! OH!!! And last night I ate TWO Girl Scout cookies (they're new and during cookie training they gave out samples). DELICIOUS!! But I think that's one reason the scale didn't get to the weight I wanted by today. BUT the scale IS once again going down. So I know it's water weight, but it's still nice to see. I've got to find the energy to feed deer today, and go to the store. All I want to do is take a nap!!!! I'm such a slug today, I've not even eaten yet!!
|
:balloons: :encore: BEC - you are doing AWESOME. WTG!! And you toot your own horn, you should be very proud of yourself!! :woo:
Thanks for the get well wishes. This bloody thing is really kickin' my butt & I started TOM yesterday. Today is even worse - migraine/sinus's, achy everywhere, coughing, tired, still no voice & cramps. Don't think I'll be exercising today either which really ticks me off :( . Just when I was started to do so well & getting a routine going. I knew this week was going to be tough 'cause of TOM, but TOM & this. Arghhhhhh. All I want is a nice piece of toast & jam - steak & eggs just doesn't have that whole comfort food appeal to it ;). Lacey - WTG busting through that plateau! :cheer: Mindy - when I fall off, I just jump right back in & start over basically. Liv - WTG - that's great news! :cheer: You are doing amazing. :woo: And yes, my pants could be down around my ankles, but until someone says something about it, it just doesn't feel like I've lost. Trazzie - you've been through quite a time lately! As a single mom of 2 (split over a year ago) I know it's tough. Nice that you have found someone. My hat's off to you tho, I NEVER want another man in my life. I'll switch teams first before I ever consider that path again ;). Good luck with quitting smoking & starting your weight loss journey! Em - welcome to the group & congrats on your 1st 2lb loss. :carrot: Yes, it's totally possible when you're on induction. I lost 8 lbs the 1st week & I know of others who've lost even more than that. As for exercise, I do a combination of my workout video's. I do some step, WATP's, weights, pilates, yoga...you name it. Whatever I'm doing tho, I always try to get cardio in 1st. Just don't feel like I'm buring off anything unless my hearts a pumpin' :). Have to run. I watch an 8 month old who's mom is just pulling into my driveway. She's adorable, but all she does is scream when she's here - the child does NOT like to be put down and I refuse to carry her every second she's here. Have a great day! TTFN! |
Good Morning :coffee:
Wow, look at all the new faces .... :welcome3: I read what everyone had to say, but I cant remember everything :dizzy: Im just glad you all are here!! You have found a great place for support!! Liv~ its awesome when someone notices isnt it? Pushes that motivation up a notch or 10  Keep it up girl, your doing great! Brenda~ step away from the girl scout cookies!!!!!! OOOOHHHH I wanted a box soooooooo bad this year. The girls are everywhere here, even on the street corners if you can believe that  Dh has kept me away, I really dont know if I could refuse :( Stacie~ he must of been one S.O.B. if you're willing to switch teams! Im glad your happy now tho :) Good Luck with that little one....maybe get some earplugs? Bec~ WTG on the 6lbs!! :cb: :cb: :bravo: Toot away girly! EM~ I walk mostly for exercise. This week Im increasing my workout to cardio 3x a week, then after 2 weeks of that I will increase to weights. As for atkins on a budget, I find atkins very inexpensive compared to the crap I was eating and spending $$ on before. Chicken breasts are usually on sale someplace, stock up on those, eggs, and if the fresh veggies are too expensive, buy the frozen stuff. (Im not a salad person so I dont buy it) I usually spend about $20 on supplies for myself about every 3 weeks. That doesnt include the chicken. But its alot less than what I was spending before. ......the money I save I usually spend on pretty undies :o Im home alone today...dh is out on a site. So today is clean house day! Its gotten wayyyyyy out of hand!! You know those dust bunnies under the table? They are starting to come out and attack!! Time to clean!! That should take me most of the morning and a good part of the afternoon. (Ive let it go too far) thats what happens when dh is home with me all the time. He wants to do everything else, besides, this way he isnt in my way, prying me away ;) Its snowing that icy snow pellets at the moment, so I dont know if I'll get my walk in after cleaning. Maybe, I'll have to see, if not I'll drag dh out to the mall tonight for a walk. Those are the plans for today.....have a good one ladies! |
Hi Trazzie and earthymama! It's awesome seeing so many new faces on the board :)
Earthy mama, my only exercise so far has been walking because I've had some back surgery and vow to never have it again :) I started at 1/2 a block right after surgery and am up to just a little over 3 miles a day. My goal is to do 6 a day :D :kickcan: Trazzie: Good men are so hard to find, congratulations on moving on with your life and for choosing what is right for you  Ok, the egg fast. After 3 days the total pounds lost was EIGHT. :carrot: I've also decided to set my goal to 150 instead of 160. I don't want to settle for 'barely there'. Honestly I don't know what I'll look like at either 150 OR 160 but I'm going to hit 150 and then decide from there :D Walked 3 miles this morning and we're getting ready to have Christmas pictures made for the first time ever!! I avoid cameras at all costs, so this is a major step for me, I hope that I end up liking some of them :) Oh, while I'm at sears I'm gonna drop off and check out the ellipticals. I think it'd be a great thing to have in the house when it's too cold to walk. I've also been seeing a lot of coyotes and weird wild animals about so that would avoid that problem :) Have an awesome day girls! drink drink drink!! :blah: Lace |
Yaaaaaa Lacey!! You made it to ONderland!! You go! Wow, 8lbs in 3 days, thats pretty amazing! You must be thrilled!! Good Going! |
Stacie: Hope you're feeling better soon!!
Robin: Your DH Sounds SO brave!! I also think he sounds sweet and VERY supportive of your choices!! I'm looking forward to next year when I won't be a GS leader so won't have to deal (much) with cookies anymore. lol Lacey: WTG on the Christmas pictures. Anyway you could let us see them?? I've debated on the eliptical also. DH was talking about getting a stationery bike....told him GO FOR IT!! :) WTG on the 8lbs!!! Well, I never got to take a nap. Hopefully I can go to bed early tonight. After Youth Group for the kids that is. I did get a walk in today----feeding the deer  Didn't get water in. For some reason I just keep blanking out on drinking that and have been reaching for soda's instead. Need to quit that!! |
Thanks Brenda! Gotta watch out for those darn cookies. My 6 y/o is in Beavers and they did the popcorn thing. 'Course I put my order in BEFORE restarting Atkins and I ordered the tub of chocolate carmel. How in tarnation am I gonna resist that?????????????? Hope you get some rest & drink yer water!!
Lacey - 8lbs in 3 days is awesome! :carrot: Almost inspired me to try it, but I couldn't do it. I'm not an egg fan as is, so to ONLY have eggs would kill me . WTG on your walking!! LOL Robin - yes he is :). As for the baby, it's to the point where my youngest starts yelling NO when she gets here :o . She's been coming here since she was 5 months old - you'd think she'd learn by now...sceaming doesn't get ya picked up in my house, especially when I have a 6 year old to get ready for school. Her mom is A-OK with it tho as she has 2 other kids of her own and can't lug her around all day either. Mom drives a school bus, so baby is only here 2x/day about 3 hrs. total. That's MORE than enough  :D. Nice to have the house to yourself eh? Me too (other than my 4 y/o). Since I was sick, I cancelled his aid for today. So nice not to be stuck with her for the day - almost makes me wish I was sick every day ;). It was -22 (-7F ?) this morning. No walking outside for us LOL. Was bad enough having to take my oldest to school and shovel for the umpteenth time. Watch out for those attack bunnies. They can be nasty :). |
Hi ladies, Thanks for the warm welcome :)
Today I did 20 minutes of Fit Mama aerobic work out. Its a pregnancy work out for pregnant women, but in the last two years I've been pregnant for all but 4 months of it - so I might as well use it :) I weighed today (I couldn't resist) and am at 267. That's good. Suppose I should change my little weight bar tracker. I'm trying to quit smoking too Trazzie. I quit for 8 months and then last month picked them up again. Its crazy, with the patch on I can talk myself out of it. I think I smoke to get a break from the girls (sorry, but I'm wore out with all the laundry, and housecleaning and cooking and...ugh), and b/c my husband is around and often thats the only 10 minutes we get to ourselves... Well, unless we have time for the OTHER 10 minutes ;) Good luck with quitting, It gets easier and easier...but you are ALWAYS addicted so don't think "Just this one won't hurt" or even "I want to smoke a cigarette to taste how nasty it is, cause I know I won't get addicted again" Stacie, have you thought about packing the baby in a sling? Its the only thing that keeps my sanity and makes me able to get anything done around here with both of these two girls. Plus its really good excercise for your abs. GTG I'll write more later! EM |
You gotta use what you got! I've got a post natal workout by Crunch that I still use & my youngest is 4 . I can't see your sidebar in reply mode, but I think it said 270, so 3 lbs? That's GREAT! 3 lbs is a LOT - look at a 3lb pkg. of ground beef!
It's hard to quit smoking. I quit in '94 after smoking for about 14+ years & didn't touch one again 'till late 2002. I'm one of those really annoying smokers now, I can have a couple one night & then nothing for months on end. Usually only if I'm having a drink or really pee'd off about something. All of my friends are smokers and it drives them nuts that I can do this. Thanks for the tip on the sling Em, I used mine all the time with my kids, but my sling & all my baby stuff is long gone. Her mom and especially her dad, don't want her carried around (because they won't do it either) and my 4 year old has autism and it's very upsetting to him if she's in my arms so I think a sling would just freak him out too much. Besides, my back is so messed up, I don't think I could lug her around anyway. Don't get me wrong, if she's bumped her head or is sick, I give her lovin', but 99% of the time, she just wants to be carried around and sitting with her in your lap isn't good enough, you have to be walking. I just cross my fingers every day that she reaches 30lbs soon. Once she's 30lbs, her mom can take her on the school bus :). |
Hey Everyone,
Well today didn't go to terrible considering. I suprisingly stayed pretty OP. I may have gone over the given 20g with all the broccoli and cauliflower I ate and ummmm the French Vanilla Coffee Creamer :nono: (low carb of course) but eating wise was all good. Smoking wise went alright.. So far I'm up to 13 cigarettes and my days almost done. It is high yes but it's much lower then my 2+packs that I have been inhaling. EM - I sure can relate with you. I discovered today that most of my puffin is due to kids and housework.. yup laundry especially Didn't do anything for a work out, except run up and down my stairs a thousand times, cleaning the basement and of course beat down a couple mounds of laundry, but I can't count that. Ok girls have a good night! |
