8 pounds in three days... I still just can't get over it, that's amazing, and I'm SO happy for ya. I don't know that I could stand eggs only for days, but I'll keep it in mind in case I hit a wall and need a kick.
I want thin mints!!!! This will be the first year I can remember that I didn't get a bunch and snarf 'em straight from the freezer *whimper*. I have a chocolate mint recipe and an almond thin recipe, maybe I'll experiment and see if I can come up with a LC version of a Thin Mint type cookie. I've been so tired the past few days, and I can't figure out what's up with me because I've been like the Energizer Bunny since day 3 of Atkins. I'm not sick, just sooooo tired. I think I'll head off to bed *yawn* G'night all |
Hi again :)
Oh Stacie, I hope I didn't sound like I was passing judgement. The sling is a great tool, but understandably not for everyone or every baby. Ofcourse you give the baby loves, I'm sorry if I sounded like I didn't think that. Your talking to a mom that goes through more chamomile then anyone I know! I am so in love with cheeseburger soup. I made a modified Atkins Induction friendly version. I buy the $5 for 5 pounds of beef mystery patties at Wal-mart, so in less then 10 minutes I gotta delicious meal. :) yum. What all are your fave recipes? Tenn, I'm with you on the eggs..8 pounds sounds awfully tempting to lose..but 3 days of eggs? Honestly, just thinking about it turns my stomach..Perhaps the 8 pounds is all that air getting knocked out of you. Your butt to be precise. ;) I would never be able to leave the bathroom if I ate eggs for 3 days..Something to keep in mind though if I need a rapid weight loss. I am way tired, so my day needs to come to a close. I'll check back in tomorrow. You ladies are just so wonderful! EM |
Hi girls!! I'm on my way to the mall on this freezing cold morning!
We had Christmas pictures taken and I still look like a beached whale, I was thinking I looked so hot then the pictures showed up on the screen and I almost cried my head off. But I'm over it, there's nothing I can do and at least I had them done so my great grandkids will have a picture when I'm dead and gone LOL Gonna have a light frappucino today, so I'm planning on that cheat but it's so rare that I see a starbucks and I'm pretty sure it won't kill me. Besides that I'll eat just meat at whatever resteraunt we go to. Anyway, sorry for the blabbing. earthymama, do you have the recipe to that soup? Tenn: I'm a thin mint freak too, I USED TO could go through boxes of those things, they're just SO GOOD..mmm...and the cherry ones, have you tried those :p (if not, don't) LOL Trazzie: I wish you ALL the luck on quitting smoking! My husband smokes 2 packs a day, he says it's worse than heroin, the one time he tried to quit was the worst time ever in our relationship. If he tries again I'm gonna get him the patch or something to help him along. Let us know how it goes, we're all rooting for you!! gotta run girls, have a fantastic day! Lacey |
:carrot: Well, I am having a very exciting morning, as I type I am wearing size 16 pants for the first time in I don't know how long. Granted they are the only size 16 pants I have that fit, but I'll take it:)
I am an ex-smoker who loved to smoke:smoking: , I don't even really know why I quit. The patch worked for me (twice). I learned I can't date people who smoke, that's instant relapse for me( hence having to quit twice) I've found after about two years that I still want to smoke, but the couple times I've gotten my hands on a cigarette I can't finish it. I'm no longer used to the smell and flavor either so it drives me crazy if I take even one drag, I can't feel comfortable until I brush my teeth and shower. I think that is what helps keep me honest with the smoking. Let me know if I can lend you any support with quitting, its hard! Lacey is that you in that picture? You are NO beached whale, you look great in that picture! Give yourself some credit for being beautiful! I'm not making any promises, but I think I have a LC recipe for chocolate mint candy somewhere. By somewhere I mean I know I've seen but may or may not be able to figure out where or when. I never tried it so it may or may not be good, and I'm not sure exactly how LC it really is, but if I find it I'll post it in recipes and let you know. I hope we all have a great OP day! Talk to you all later |
GoodMorning! :coffee:
You want thin mints.. you got em ;) There is little difference between these and an Andes Candys.. yes straight out of the freezer Frozen Mint Patties 1 envelope unflavored gelatine 1 Tablespoon boiling water 1 Cup Heavy Cream 3 Drops Mint or Peppermint Extract 1 oz. unsweetened chocolate, melted OR 1 packet of Nestle ChocoBake, premelted unsweetened chocolate flavor 10 packets of Splenda 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract 1 oz. Cream Cheeze Soften gelatine in the boiling water. Add all ingredients into a blender and blend well. Chill for 10 minutes and spoon onto parchemnt paper and freeze. Pack in an airtight container. Makes 20 servings.. its approx. 1g per cookie and they are YUMMY!!!:cloud9: |
Good Morning :coffee:
Lacey~ I sure dont see any beached whale! You look beautiful, and so happy! Your 199 and 5'9.....You look awesome!! I cant wait til I get back to 199....Im 5'9 too! I loved my face and the fact that I had the start of a waist at 199. Give yourself a big pat on the back, you're doing a great job! Tenn~ Ive had that tiredness lately too. But I'll take it. I had about 2 days, where I actually took a 1/2 hr nap in the afternoon. Now, Im usually in bed by and asleep by 10. I like to think its my body wanting to sleep to work at widdling off the fat  Mindy~ that recipe sounds dangerous! Congratulations on the size 16's!! :cb: Trazzie~ Im just going to ignore that recipe :lol3: There is no way Id only be able to eat just one! It looks just a bit too good! Im up and at it this morn. Taking dh to his jobsite so I can have the truck. Groceries, postoffice, and some xmas wrapping on the agenda today. Got the house pretty much cleaned up, just a bit more organizing to do. I need to find a place to keep the 40lb bags of pellets :dizzy: Before I put up the xmas tree!! Everytime I try to simplify, more stuff seems to need to be put away! I have a total of 2.5 closests in this house! NO storage whatsoever! Can make a girl a bit nuts ya know!?!?! Im off, have a great op day ladies! |
No worries Em, just didn't want ya to think I was this horribly mean crank that was leaving this poor child to cry. But once 8 hits, I have to get my kids dressed, my truck started (especially on days like today (-15C/4F), kids teeth brushed, coats/boots on, etc. to be out the door by 8:30. Every other day, my eldest has a shower, so it starts at 7:45 instead of 8. Anyhew, it's during this time she just screams and quite frankly I'm too busy at that time to do anything. If she's fed/diapered/fine - then she can scream. It's just extremely frustrating and her screaming hurts my 4 y/o (he's hyper-sensitive to noise as a result of the autism). The only reason I still have her is I adore the parents - they're great people. When she started noone else in town would watch her (plus mom has a weird schedule). A few years ago, our mat. leave was changed to 1 year instead of 6 months, so most dayhomes changed to accomodate kids 1+years because most moms opt for the 1 year at home with baby. Plus a lot of the dayhomes want full timers. Anyway, didn't mean to turn this into a novel, just wanted to explain a bit better :).
Tenn - I totally know what you mean. My Christmas treat has always been those Terry's Oranges. My Grandmother always had one for me & since she's been gone, I get one for myself. This will be the 1st year (maybe hehehe  ) I don't have one for Christmas. Lacey - what are you talking about girl???? You're GORGEOUS!!!!! I think that's a great picture! Congrats Mindy - that's wonderful. :carrot: :cp: I tried on my 18's yesterday and they were still so tight in the legs :( I didn't even bother trying to hike them up to my waist. So still in sweats for now as I don't ever plan on buying another pair of jeans in the 20's and of course I got rid of the ones I had last time I lost weight 'cause I was NEVER gonna be this size again . Oops. |
I'm with you Robin - 20 servings - 1gm per....I'd be using up all my allowed 20g's on the cookies . Sounds like you have a busy day ahead of you! I'm so sick of organizing everything and the house still looks trashed. House is too small & there's just not enough room to properly organize everything it seems.
Thanks for the recipe tho Trazzie...I am going to copy that recipe for a treat when I'm off induction or at goal...whichever comes first  :D. Have a great day all. TTFN! |
Just a quick hello for now.
Hi everyone.
Sorry, but I'm just popping in for a quick hello right now. That will insure me to stay OP for the 7th day in a row and doing great. :D I have a busy day, just caught up on reading this thread, and then I'll get back on the computer for personals later. Everyone have a great day! :rain: |
Sonny, where in CA are ya? I'm headed home (Hemet & San Diego) in three weeks :)

Sometimes they just cant win! Poor guys
Your mentioning friday made me freak out a bit........monday I weigh in, and I dont feel like Ive lost anything this week :( Just a feeling, and its not a good one. Ive been op to the letter....I should drink up more water maybe. Good going on your loss Liv!! :bravo: |
Dang, didn't have time for personals this morning. I had a MIT (moms in touch) meeting, and right before I was going to walk out the door the dog got sick RIGHT IN FRONT OF IT...not once but FOUR times!! She's a huge dog so you can figure out the mess she left. So I had to clean that up. ARGH! I've discovered why I'm so blasted tired---TOM is coming. Why is it that it seems to NEVER be gone as much as it's here??? This weekend making cookies w/my mom...and it's going to be SOOO hard not to dip my fingers into the cookie dough (I've done that for as long as I can remember!!)! Ok. Time to go catch up on other stuff I've neglected.
|
dear god Brenda. I think I felt another 5 pounds slip off of me just by listening to your description of dog vomit
EM |
Andrea, Congrats on your 65 pound weightloss! You are a beautiful chickadee!
I have to say 199 is beautiful....I want to be there! |
Sorry to keep spamming the group, but whats OP?
|
I just received some awesome news!!!!! My dd will be spending christmas holidays with me! :cb: :cb: I am so thrilled!! The ex was planning on going away and he asked dd if she wanted to go. Of course we had talked about it, and I didnt like it. But my thoughts were, ****, he never took me anywhere, Im not going to stop him from taking our dd. He even buys her jewellery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Something I NEVER got, and he refused to buy! Anyway, Im off topic......dd changed her mind, and no tickets were bought yet. I just had to share! Im filled up with happiness!!
|
Great news Robin. How old is your dd? I can't imagine being away from my kids at Christmas, you must be super relieved!
Ewwww Brenda - yuck (times 4 LOL). What a way to start the day. Hope it got a LOT better after that :). Sonny - WTG staying OP! Em - OP means On Plan. Liv - Congrats on your 65lb loss. That is awesome!!! :carrot: Have a great evening all - don't forget the H2O!! :snow4: |
She's 9...just one :) This would have been our 1st xmas apart, and it was really tearing me up. Im feeling much better about it all now :) When you have kids, its really hard to remember what christmas was like before them.
|
Evening Girl,
Well today was absolutly horrible. I had a huge fight with my oldest dd this morning (16yrs) and I followed it up by a day of self pity, eating badly and smoking too much. :sigh: But the good news is.. I'm over it and tomorrow is a new day I am a tad excited because today TOM was to visit me and he never showed up... so I'm keeping my pudgy little fingers crossed, I'll give it a few days before I get overly excited. Robin.. its great you'll be spending xmas with your dd.. I couldnt even imagine what it would be like to be seperated from my girls during the holidays.. because they ARE the holiday Liv.. YOU GO GIRL!! that is awesome and something to be pround of.. 65lbs WTG Sonny.. Great job on your OP streak, those pounds will be meltin away before you know it Brenda.. :barf: um lol |
Robin, AWESOME, I'm so glad she's getting to spend the holidays with you! It DOES suck big time to not have your kids during Christmas. Heads up for the weigh in, I bet you did fine, you're always so hard on yourself! Does your dh work on rigs? Your stories sound very similar to mine :)
Liv: WOOOHOOO!!! I'm so happy for you, you must feel fantastic!!! WAY TO GO! :carrot: DH and I made a quick trip to the city today, he was SO SWEET to me all day! I found a carb count thing at starbucks and decided NOT to drink the light frappucino that I wanted so bad, it's just NOT worth it!!! He got me an ipod nano and I've been downloading songs like crazy :) I also walked for 45 minutes on the treadmill this evening and it was just terrible. The treadmill is set up in our shop so I just sat there and looked at tools the whole time...so un-exciting but at least it was warm. I'd love to know the average time to walk on a treadmill per mile in real life...does anyone know? Anyway, I missed chatting with you guys, glad everyone is doing A-OK  Lace |
Good Morning!
Robin, I so happy for you, the holidays are all about family ( not food). I'm so glad you will able to be with your dd. Andrea way to go on those 65 pounds, very inspiring. Lacey, I don't know if there is a standard time for a mile on a treadmill. I can usually do a mile in about 15 minutes (4 mph).If you sometimes want to walk outside and have about the same workout, you may want to put your treadmill on a slight incline ( 2% is right for mine). I find if I don't do this than I can walk 2-3 miles on the treadmill, but 1 mile at a local track will kick my you know what ;) I found my recipe for mint chocolate candy and it matches Trazzie's exactly so I won't repost it. I might make it closer to the holidays when I can take to a party so I can't eat the whole thing myself. :hun: Everyone have a great OP day! |
Good Morning :coffee:
Ive been up since the crack of stupid :dizzy: I upped my water yesterday, and I was up at 530 to "p" and I couldnt get back to sleep. So I stood infront of the woodstove for an hour to thaw out. Lacey~ dh and I are sign makers, so he is regularly out at sites either putting things together, or doing estimates, and consults. I dont like to go with him on that stuff, because usually I dont agree with what the client wants  Almost always I think it looks crammed and unprofessional. So when dh gets home with the specs, I'll change it up, and give the client mine and their version :D I love going to see vehicles tho...I wish we had more clients who wanted vehicles done. Trazzie~ :crossed: Brenda~ I hope your day got better :) This time of year always brings out old friends, that I havent heard from in ages. I received an email from a gf who I have been friends with for 35 yrs!!! We live 1600km(800ish miles) apart from each other, so its been well over a year since I seen her last. Hopefully this April or May I'll go up and we can spend some time together. Thats the plan anyway....hopefully I'll be able to make it happen. Not alot planned so far for today, a few small signs to get finished up, get a bit more organizing done, and maybe, just maybe I'll drag the tree down. I dont usually put it up this early....but Im feeling a bit more festive than I was yesterday at this time :D Have a great day ladies! |
Morning Robin - :coffee: Must be something in the air as I've also been up since the crack of stupid (3:30  ). Heck, you get to sleep in till 5:30 before you have to pee...I'm up every 1 - 1 1/2 hours LOL :D. So nice to hear from old friends. I hope you are able to take that trip.
Trazzie - hope you have a better day today & got my fingers crossed for ya :crossed: It's a blah day today. The weather sucks for one. It's -28C (-18F) :yikes: with the windchill here right now. Even if my truck will start, I'm thinking my 6 y/o is staying home from school today. I'm sure he won't mind ;). It snowed - again, so I'm going to have to shovel - again and in the freezing cold to boot. And for 2, my 2nd week on induction, so far, isn't proving to be as motivating as my 1st. Lost 8 the 1st & only 2 so far this week. I know overall, 10lbs in less than 2 weeks is pretty darn good and that the weight didn't pop on overnight (although it sure feels like it did) and won't pop back off overnight, but you know :^: - always want more, better, faster, etc. Between being sick all week and TOM, I didn't get in all my exercise. But TOM is almost gone...I'm just about over that bug and I've got till Sunday to exercise my butt off to try & make up the difference :). Hope everyone has a great OP day! And, oh ya - it's FRIIIIII-DAY :). :cheer: |
Holy Crap its Cold up there Stacie!!! I forget just how cold it gets!! Although I keep telling dh its alot colder here (buffalo) than it gets back home. Its unbelievably damp here....the cold gets right in my bones and I cant get it out. I was stuck in Winnipeg last year in December, and it was -36, I was fine as long as my coat was done up. I came back here, and it didnt matter what I had on, I was still cold  I guess its all what your used to, I used to go skiing when it was -24 (my limit) I wouldnt do that here!! Anyway Im babbling
When is your weigh in day? Im sure you're going to do great. I want it all now, faster, better too! Here's to a great couple op days  |
EM: If you thought the description was bad....you should have SEEN it (and smelled it). Cured my appetite for the morning!!
Robin: That is AWESOME news!! Glad DD decided to spend time w/you. Don't know what I'd do w/out my own DD's. They drive me crazy but I miss them when we're not together. I'm thinking the reason I've not been drinking water is the "P" issue. Stacie: Thanks for the water reminder. I haven't been drinking ANY. Not sure what the problem is on that one. Your weather is nastier than ours. We have -7 (with windchill factored in) right now. We've gotten worse. I always wonder, when it gets THAT cold why they risk the kids by having school. And I can relate to wanting the weight to drop off faster than it is--I'm in the same boat! Trazzie: Nice to see you again :) Glad to hear TOM didn't show up. Didn't here either....except the cramps! I could do w/out THOSE that's for sure!! I'm sure the rest will follow in a day or so. Lace: Congrats on the LC drink option and sounds like DH IS being sweet!! Lucky you!!! Mindy:  My day got better yesterday. I even managed to go to bed early!! DH has off today (was going to go muzzleloader hunting but it's too cold this morning) so we're going to get some shopping done. The Christmas shopping is done except for him and myself. He keeps picking out these EXPENSIVE bracelets (I told him I wanted one from wal-mart for $50) instead of the one I wanted. The nut! He thinks that more expensive means better. Not to me!! I'll work on getting more water in. That's a definite must. Maybe when I get home from shopping (so I'm not going to the bathroom every store  ) . I'm thinking with all the new people and our chatter we should start breaking the weekdays up again. Make the thread's smaller :) What you all think? |
Hi everyone*waves*I'm Rebecca :) I am kinda new to this forum. Just wanted to say how greatful I am to be apart of this place! I look forward to sharing in my success as well as rejoicing in all of your success! Love~Becca

lol
Almost everyone woke up early. I rolled out of bed at 11:30 am when my 4 month old decided to wake up. They didn't go to sleep til' 2am, so it wasn't like I got tons of sleep. Could always use more. I think I'm the only one here who can't wait til' her TOM! It means I'm not pregnant again! It will only be the third in 2 years...So, I'm looking forward to it! Brenda: lol! No, the description was enough, no need to send wiffs of it my way! Robin: I can't wait to hear if you've lost anything! You are such an inspiration! Even if you don't lose another pound! A huge inspiration... Stacie: I've never ever been in that cold of weather. I can't even imagine it. Would you die of hypothermia if you were left out in it for an hour? We finished the tree last night. Honestly, we are on a needy family gift list so whatever we get is what the girls will be getting from us for X-mas. Long story short, DH was laid off 2 years ago, went back to college to get retrained, got out of school & no one was hiring for his degree. Shut the plants down & shipped a bunch of them overseas. So, after selling everything of value & begging, & borrowing from a family member we were able to keep our house from foreclosure. Plus odd jobs. But, our fertility kicked in big time! We thought Dar was a miracle baby...Then 12 weeks pp, I find out I'm 9 weeks preg! So, been a very tough last couple years. But, DH just got a good job at Intel, and our first check goes all to mortgage to keep from foreclosing again (3 months behind) soooo...Thats why I signed up on the needy moms list. Ugh, I dont know why I just blasted you all with that, but thats been my drama :) I don't feel sorry for us by any means, look at all the hurricane victims. But, I'm just feeling bad. So use to being the giver. not the givee. Just woke up kinda bummed... I still excercised today, 20 minutes of Salsa dancing. Is 20 minutes ok to do for a work out if you are pretty overweight/outta shape? Well take care gals! Good luck to you all!!! EM |
Brenda, perhaps every 3-4 days a new thread would be agood idea...
EM |
Hey Rebecca! :Welcome:
We're so happy you joined us! Good luck on the 18 pound weight loss. You can do it! Oh & Tenn, I believe you asked for the recipe to the Cheeseburger Soup. The original is under Low Carb recipes, Soups. The way I modified it was, instead of all that cream, I just use water and about 3 tablespoons of cream, plus I add a few onions and bits of garlic for their properties to it. That little bit of cream thickens it up enough and makes the soup a buttery flavor. Its really yummy, and I can make it in under 10 minutes with about 5 carbs for 1 meal and a snack I think thats all I've done to modify it. But I'm one of those people, the recipe is never the same twice. So mess around with it! |
I prefer the weekly...so when Im looking for something, I can just stay in the same thread. But no matter...I'll go where ever everybody is
Thanks EM :) I cant imagine having babies so close :dizzy: I was blessed with the one I have....she was a very special surprise :D and yes I think 20min is great!! Rebecca....glad you found the weekly Tenn.......Im makin' slippers!!! I have 1/2 of one done already!! :cb: Not alot happening around here. Dh got home early, messed up all my plans  Got my walk in tho, before he came home...then we went off to the mall for another walk. Headed out to AC Moore for yarn for my new slippers!! They are going to be very pretty!! Eating is good, not enough, but I noticed when I eat alot of protein, Im not hungry at all. Especially if Im eating very lowcarb veggies. We didnt eat tonight until 630, neither of us were much interested in supper ....when was the last time that happened?? Im off to finish my first slipper :D |
Just runnin' in to say howdy! Went shopping again today, got ordered some new laminate for the living room and boy is it beautiful!! Then I took a walk for a few miles and now I'm on my way out the door to go tan! I do love being a busy body :D
Hope everyone had a fantastic day and that you all have fun weekend plans ahead!! Lacey |
LOL Robin, it's ONLY -19 (-2F) at the moment, feels like bleedin' summer out there ;) . I now what you mean about the dampness making you feel colder. It really does get to the bones doesn't it?! Winnipeg (where I'm from originally) always felt that way to me. Alberta doesn't have 1/2 the lakes MB does, so it's very dry here compared to there. I can't even imagine the difference you must feel as you're surrounded by lakes where you are if I'm correct? I weigh in on Sunday...gulp!! I don't know the total yet, but I know I'm way over 20 in carbs today. I was just so cold, I had way more coffee than I should have.
Brenda - what in tarnation is muzzleloader hunting? I'm guessing it has something to do with DH (since he was home) and, er, um, achem...doin' the "wild thang" ;). Hope you get the bracelet you want. Tell him if he really needs to spend extra money, a muzzle-warmer might be in order ;). As for the schools, you know what the crazy thing is, and basically my reason for not wanting to send Alex when it's this cold...they still send them out for recess. 15 mins. in the morning & I believe 20 in the aft. (after lunch). That's insanity. They say the kids need fresh air. Sorry, my kid doesn't need -30 fresh air. Hi Rebecca - glad you found us! Looking forward to knowing you better & celebrating your achievements! Em - if you were left long enough, I'm sure you would! I know when it's that cold out, they warn not to leave skin exposed as frostbite can occur in minutes. When you have a 4 month old, there is no such thing is enough rest. Mine were still nursing like hounds at that age LOL. Co-sleeping was the only way I got my sleep :). I'm glad you were able to keep your house & congrats to DH on his new job. My ex still isn't paying child support & last year I didn't think I could buy a thing for the boys for Christmas, so we got adopted by the School Board. They totally made Christmas for my kids when I couldn't. I was so ashamed of myself for the longest time until I finally realized that my ex. not paying his support to punish me, was hurting his kids more than he was hurting me. He's the one who should be ashamed of himself, not me. We all need help once in a while, I'm glad you have a resource around you where you can get it! Oh & yes...20 mins. is AWESOME!! Lacey - sounds like you're have a fun, busy day! Hope you have a great weekend as well! Have a great night all! Water, water, water, water...just as soon as I have 1 more cup of coffee :coffee: :coffee2: |
Hi All, I can relate to the cold. I was up in Alaska for a few years and that was down right balmy next to Pennsylvania. It's all because of the wind and moisture here, I would trade winters any day.
EM and Stacie, It's probably not my place to say because I'm not a mom, however I am a professional counslor who supervises a foster care program. In my opinion you two have done whatever it takes for your children and should never lose even one second of sleep over that. If more parents would do that the world would be a much different place. So pat yourselves on the back.:cheer: :welcome: Becca Robin, I have the same appetite issue, if I'm really OP I'm rarely hungry. A lot of days at work I completely forget to eat my snacks and don't realize it's time for luch until someone stops by my office to see if I want to eat with the group. I love it, its the first time in a long time my life hasn't revolved around when I was going to be able to eat next. I hope your having as much fun with it as I am. Lacey, Way to go on the coffee! I don't know if I could have done that after giving myself permission to cheat. I'm inspired! Liv, Tenn,Trazzie and everyone else ( sorry, I'm still learning names and my memory resembles swiss cheese) Have a great OP day! |
This is going to have to be fast. We have to go get a furnace filter. We can't use cheap ones. They have to be the allergen ones. Otherwise youngest DD gets a LOT of colds in the winter. Then it's off to my parents house to do Christmas cookies. I really can't wait until January gets here. Then the holiday eating will be over and I won't be tempted (for a few months anyway) to eat stuff I shouldn't. No willpower!! I'm doing the best I can right now...but slipping more than I know I should. Well, off to the races...I mean the store
Oh...muzzleloader hunting is using a muzzleloader (gun) to go hunting for whitetail (deer...not women! ) . |
Good Morning :sunny:
Its a beautiful morning here! I love the sunshine, especially in the winter! Stacie~ yup, Im surrounded by water  The worst place I lived in the winter was niagara falls/st.catharines! Because of the escarpment, all the moisture would hit it, and then bounce back over the city. It was horrible! Ive never lived anywhere so cold! Tenn~ I finished my slippers!! I added some of that eyelash yarn, to my reg yarn, and they are darn right funky! Thanks for the pattern! Mindy~ I love not feeling hungry too! Yesterday dh is ready to take me out for the afternoon, and it was 12:30, I hadnt eaten lunch yet. He grabs some chicken, and I thought, I better eat (even tho I wasnt hungry) or by 3 Im going to be stuck somewhere without any food, and I'll be famished. Lacey~ is that the wood laminate? I love that stuff. Id like to do the kitchen in it (I had a house that had wood laminate in the kitchen and I loved it) Its alot warmer on your feet than tiles or that other roll out stuff. Our kitchen now has a hump in the floor, so Im thinking I wont be able to do it without alot of prep work :( Dh has taken his granddaughter for her tae kwon doe class. She tests for her green belt today. If he had told me yesterday, I would have gotten up earlier, and gone with them. They are so cute! Then its off for coffee, and Im going to see if I can get dh out for a walk "outside" rather than at the mall. I dont mind the mall, but its getting to be cold and flu season, and I really dont want to be around all those ppl!! Eating was good yesterday....here's to another great op day  Have a great saturay ladies! |
Robin: Way to go keeping OP yesterday! Yes, the laminate is wood, it's a darky knotty looking wood which other people might think is weird but I'm a weird kinda gal. My mom was so mad that I got laminate instead of carpet that she told me not to complain when my kids got sick this winter from having such a cold floor!!!!!! :o :o I plan on using area rugs in the winter. The laminate is 100000% cleaner than the NASTY 15 year old carpet that was in my living room and with a 3 year old and husband that works in the oilfield there's no way we could keep a carpet clean!
gonnabe150: that is INSANE of that school to do that! Kudos to you for not making your kiddo go! I'm getting **** from the school right now for taking my 11 year old out so much for her braces. I hate the public school system. Thinking about homeschooling my 3 year old since my 11 year old doesn't want to be. Have you guys seen the brown sugar splenda?? mmmmmmmmmm. I haven't tried it but how awesome to have that option! talk to y'all later! Lacey |
Mindy - thanks for the pat. Like Em said, it's very difficult to be in that situation when you're used to being the "giver". I had a career, I made a lot of money and then I had a child with special needs and I had to give it up. To fall so far as to need financial assistance from the Gov't. & not have money to buy things for your kids - I can't even find the words to explain how shameful that feels. For me anyway, I can't speak for Em of course.
Brenda - thanks for the reminder. I've been telling myself for the past 2 months to get a new furnace filter and I get home and I've forgotten it AGAIN. I'm so glad you elaborated on "whitetail" 'cause I was thinking you may need to get yourself into a tanning bed once in a while :lol3:. Have fun making your cookies. There's no way I could be around fresh baked cookies :cookie: right now and not stuff them all in my mouth :o . Robin - your slippers sound cool! Have fun going for your walk and keep up the good eatin!! Lacey - I totally agree with you. Carpeting is the WORST thing to have in your house as far as dirt/bugs/allergens go - it traps everything. My 6 y/o has asthma and our Dr's have said to try and avoid carpeting as much as possible, especially in his bedroom. Unfortunately, we rent at the moment and I can't do anything about the carpeting other than to vacuum every day. Alex (my eldest) is in the Seperate School Division, but they're both the same here as far as recess in the cold goes. I may have to homeschool my youngest tho. It depends on how much he progresses over the next 2 years...he may never be able to go to a mainstream school and I'm not driving 3-4 hours/day to put him in a special needs school. I haven't seen the brown sugar splenda, but I tried one of the others (Sugar Twin??) and it's was downright nasty! Anyway, I'm off to brave the cold to go buy an extension cord so I can plug in my truck. With the wind chill, it's a lovely -32C/-25F :yikes: this morning and I don't want to kill my battery. Have a great OP Saturday everyone! TTFN. :grouphug: |
Lacey~ I dont think Ive seen the dark laminate, it sounds nice. I had the blonde stuff. I dont think the laminate is cold at all....I think you'll be surprised how warm it actually is. I would love to get rid of all the carpet in this house....but that would take some fancy talkin' to talk dh into it.

Afternoon All!
I hope today has been a good day for you all thus far :) Lacey ~ I cannot WAIT until we can rip out our carpet and put that 'wood' floor laminate stuff down. I drool over the possibilities. I have to steam clean our carpet once a month because its about 20 years old and you can imagine what kind of shape its in! I didn't know you were all a bunch of knitters! I LOVE TO KNIT! Its my favorite thing to do. Its how I quit smoking. I really miss having time to do it. Oh, well --- eventually! Stacie, Yes - you described exactly how I feel too. The scale says I gained 6 pounds since yesterday...Is that possible? GTG <3 EM |
