Mindy...I cant remember, are you on induction?

if so...no low carb candies, and no low carb icecream...and no soda. Limit your crystal light too.

I keep track of my calories on fitday. I average 1400 calories a day...give or take 100.

You just started l/c last month right? First time ever? Do you know what stalls you out?

No loss?....my best guess is the shower you were at. Your probably holding water from the carbs you ate. Drink more water!

Me smart? Ive just learned what works for me, sometimes it works for others, sometimes it doesnt.

wow, looks like my kid isn't going to let me sleep this evening either. I wish she'd get over whatever is wrong.

Do you all have any favorite holiday recipes that are super low carb?? I'm thinking of just making the regular big dinner and just eating the meat (since I'm still trying to stay on induction). Any ideas?

Default Tuesday

Leenie: How's it going? And I think the suggestion of eating like kids is a good one. How come we can't follow through?

Audrey: Way to go on the 10 pounds!! Keep up the great work! Ignore the ignorant people and don't let them side track you!!!

Robin: Your self control is envied!! I wouldn't be able to bake and not eat what I'm making! Maybe I should find something the girls like that I actually don't We found the deer by the way And if you lived around me I'm sure I could talk DH into hunting again to get you all a deer

Brandy: WTG on skipping the desserts! Wish I had that self control!! You're going to knock 'em dead on your vacation

Lottie: Make sure to take pictures and post them The costume sounds cute!

Lacey: Haven't seen that store. And I noticed the same thing about the ads. Sorry to hear about the rudeness of that girl. She's probably just jealous!!! Keep up the great work!! Atkins has recipes at their website if you're interested. I've not tried any of that though so can't verify the taste. Sorry!

Mindy: Could be a combination of things. Could be the Crystal Light...could be the 0 carb candies. Do those have sugar alcohols?? Chances are the answers yes and that is known to stall people. Changing to LC ice cream won't help--and a warning on that.....LC ice cream has a gasy effect on people. Or sometimes they just get back stomach aches. Try cutting out that stuff altogether and see what happens

Well, it's Tuesday and a GS day. So that means getting the newsletter and stuff ready. I'm hoping that's all I have to do. Oldest DD might have her first babysitting job for kids up the road a little. I like that idea so she doesn't have to be that far away if she has trouble. Shes' a hollers distance away She only watches the boys for 2 hours pretty much every day. Sometimes a little longer if the mom has to work longer or not at all if the dad doesn't work (he has his own business). So this'll give her a little extra money and some confidence in doing it Otherwise eating ways I do good but it's the water that's stinking. Back to it today and I have to work harder at that. Can't flush out the fat if I'm not peeing :rofl3:

Good morning ladies! I'm off to a bright new start...I liked what the scale told me this morning . I'm also being able to start wearing some of my old clothes which is nice. I'm ready to burn all my maternity clothes. I think I should do it! Have a big maternity clothes burning in the back yard!

I told my dad about what the doctor said to me, and he said, "Well, that just means you have to keep at it and lose about thirty more pounds and get back to your fighting weight!"

I'm 5'2", so I'm a shortie. Plus, I've put over forty pounds on in four years...I guess the ten pounds a year theory holds up with me.

Mindy- I honestly would cut out all the stuff that I call "cheat" food. You know the stuff that says low carb on it like ice cream and candy. Even if you are a week out of induction I would still eat like I was on induction, but start throwing in a helping of strawberries or nuts. I'm sure you could find something that will satisfy your sweet tooth if need be. I just took the suggestion from another thread about ricotta cheese flavored with vanilla extract and splenda. I through some slivered almonds in it, and OMG it tasted just as good as cheesecake if not better.

well..thanks for the input...i went to the supermarket today..didn't buy no candies..and there are officially non left in the house. I quit the soda thing...i filled up a jug with water and stuck it in the fridge to chill. I did drink a bottle of water this am. So..slowly working it back out...I didn't buy no ice cream....I did get an atkins bar that is labeled for induction. So yeah....
I just don't see how crystal light can affect you, though? since it is basically water with a little bit of flavor. But, I'll listen to you
I'm trying my darndest to print up the list of all the okay foods on induction..but, my printer is being a pain in the rear. I want to put it on the fridge for easy access. It's very informative.

Since I didn't lose any last week, I'm staying on induction for at least another week..maybe two. It'll make me feel better anyway..lol. alright...off to exercise. yippee.

Thanks for your suggestions. I may have to try the ricotta thing. yeah..cheat foods aren't good....i'm figuring that out now. I think i may have over did it last week..lol. So, I'm kinda back to square one. I did eat some roasted almonds the other day. Which, I know aren't on induction, but I was hungry and it was the best selection at the convenience store..

oh yeah...them low carb candies have a bit of sugar alcohols..but, those are said to have little affect. But, I know what you are saying. The low carb ice cream has yet to bother me in the gasy area. I haven't had any issues with that kind of stuff yet. I am cutting it out..I'm trying to keep up on the hard boiled eggs and such so there is always a snack that won't kill me. :P

Good Morning

Mindy~ you might find that what is "suppose" to be ok for induction, or low carbers....affects you differently. Some of us can eat the atkins bars, and l/c treats without problems. Me..? Well, unfortunately I cant. I would stall out every single time. Those Atkins bars, and others were the worst for me. You're getting there....keep up the great work.

Brenda~ its only a 12 hr drive from buffalo, to the state of wisconsin!!!!!! Just a days drive.....where in the state are you? Let me think, Im figuring in the cost of gas to get there,(and back) cost of butchering,.....think it would be worth it ? Do you have moose there too??????? Um...willpower???? I made a batch of bread last night....and um...it was really tastey I will admit this tho, I think if a low carber is going to eat bread, she should have to make it home made from scratch without the help of a bread machine!!! I have sore shoulders this morning! Its too much work......but its a christmas type of bread. Ive been looking for this type of recipe for years, and when I found it, I thought Id give it a try. I think I might be making this one for christmas giving.

Audrey~ sounds like your doing good!! Maternity clothes burning party? I wish I had thought of that....I was still wearing my maternity undies a year later Burning it all would have felt cleansing......go for it

I didnt get my paper work done yesterday. Im terrible, I have to get it done!! Then mailed off!! geez.....I will do this today!

I have one more recipe to try, its a bit more involved than yesterdays, its going to take about 4 hrs, but if it gives me the results I want, then its worth it. I promise to only test it when its done. Ive already given the 2 full loaves away. I thought of freezing them, but then all I have to do is thaw and eat not a good idea.

Should colour my hair today too Im just lazy today....things that should get done, arent....but all the fun stuff, is first on my list.

Well, Ive been rambling......have a great day everyone

Mindy ~ Let us know how the low carb bars work for you. I've only had 3, but EVERY time I have eaten one, I knew that is what stalled me out. And I always got the caramel ones and oh my goodness, they're too good not to do some sort of damage!

Audrey ~ What a cute idea, a maternity burning party! I wanna have a size 20/18 burning party!! I have a SIL that can wear all of my outgrown clothes though, so it's nice to be able to help her out

I'd love to find a lot of 16 winter clothes on ebay or somewhere but it looks like it's not happening yet. Tried hitting the thrift shop but they had nothing either...I refuse to wear sweats this winter. EVERY winter to date I have gained weight. I think the sweats had a lot to do with it. Just eat eat eat and they still fit Wish I could throw them away but they are dh's and he'd have a fit.

I lost another pound today, I've just been too busy to eat (I never knew that I'd say that) and I guess working so much and not sitting down all day has been burning the calories yippee!

boy am I yacky! so sorry about that, it's just really exciting to be in a group of like-minded people!

Hello all you beautiful ladies! I went to my son's parent/teacher conference last night and lost all of my hunger.. Could have barfed actually... I went home and made enchilada's for the fam.. ate some lunch meat and then.. got busy with dishes and laundry.. Too busy to eat.. and it was nighty night time before I knew it.

To all you gals eating those nasty bars and lc ice cream.. or even the candy.. I can't bare to eat another. I have tried them all and have decided to never do it again! They either leave a nasty taste in your mouth, taste nasty all together or make you spend most of your time on the crapper! I have found a sneekie little way to get something that tastes good and kinda like ice cream.. well its close enough for me.. I stick a container of cool whip in the fridge. It has sugar in it.. but it is low in carbs.. I just take a bite when I need to cheat.. It totally stops all the wants... It is kinda bad so I don't eat tons.. just a spoon full and wa la! I feel like a new woman!

It works for me. I thought I would share. Please don't yell at me!

GOOD DAY LADIES!!!

we wont yell...you have to do what works for you. Me? well I cant have coolwhip in the house. I'll eat it all in one sitting (gross I know) and if I have marshmellows in the house....well ****, dip them in the coolwhip. So, I never have those things in the house, unless I plan to cook something with them immediately

I've gotta admit you all are making me REALLY get motivated here! I want to start saying "hey, I lost weight" too!!! I know that it means washing my innards with water so guess I'll have to chugga lug that stuff down. That means I have to guzzle some right now because there's NO way I can drink that while at a GS meeting. I'd be in the bathroom all the time Ok...off to go drink water. Hopefully I can report at least a 1 pound loss. Shoot, right now I'd be happy with no gain for a change

Have any of the rest of you taken your measurements? It really helped me when I didn't lose much last week. It showed me that I was still getting the job done.

Talking

Audrey,
Is your husband in the service? Sorry if that's a sensitive question, I just keep seeing your sig and wondering

Can I ask a breast question? Has anyone found after they've lost weight that their breast are heading even more ummmm towards the feet? It's so sad...so so so sad. I seriously looked at the price of a lift today. wow, getting so vain and I haven't even hit the 200 mark yet.

And a tummy question...does the belly fat go away after a while or does it always just hang there? My doctor says sit ups or ANY excercise other than walking are a no no So just wondering about that. I think there's a surgery for that too, isn't there? I tried checking out the surgical forum but all I could find was band surgery and such

what was his reason for not doing situps?????????????????????? Situps, and any other ab exercise will tighten up the muscles in the middle, but cardio is the only thing that will help burn it off. Yes the belly fat will go away, I promise. On me, its the first place to gain, and one of the last to loose. So, when I get to my goal weight, I'll look more seriously into a tummy tuck.

Boobs falling? I bought some pretty new bras Thats not something I want a knife to touch unless its a life or death situation.
