Default Vegetarian with questions...

Hi all. I am planning to start Atkins today, and I was wondering how I would go about it being a vegetarian (or, rather pescetarian). I plan on eating a lot of eggs, cheese, and fish, but I'm concerned about relying heavily on fish because of the mercury. Do you think this concern is valid? Any other vegetarians on Atkins? I need help! Thanks

Hi !

I would suggest going to Atkins website and checking on their vegetarian section to see what advice they give. I think you could also include tofu as a protein (soy).

I think its great you are giving this a try. Personally for me, eating fish a few times a week doesn't scare me. I some times get in a tuna mood and will eat it many times a week (my daughter to) . If your looking for an iron free vitamin, Centrum Siliver is the only one I know about thats a pretty reasonable price. I'm not sure how much iron your body requires so my suggestion is to really look into this especially being a vegetarian.

Keep us posted on what your doing, this is very interesting and others can learn from you too.

Good luck !!
