Glad you are feeling better, Karen!

Great job with the running, Kerri and Karen! I am attempting to jog, and I have made some progress, but I still have a ways to go. I jog small intervals during two miles. I am jogging more and more intervals and feeling better about it.

SugarCube: Way to stay OP! You'll do great on vacation -- enjoy it!

Jdoggmartin: Right back atcha! Good job w/your running too. It sounds like you're doing well, and are being smart about progressing at a good, even pace.

I got 3.5 miles in this morning. 3.25 running and .25 walking. And, I stayed OP yesterday to make it a whole 10 days! There was even ice cream cake in our house last night and I resisted. Tough, but I made it!

Hope you all have a nice day!

Default Day Three on Induction

Enjoying my lunch of grilled chicken breast and sliced cucumber. I am on day 3 of induction and doing well.

Rode my bike to the gym this am as the car situation is still a mess, did my lower body workout, had to steer clear of the mouth breather as I call him, he was swinging the free weights, I was getting a little nervous. He had some serious momentum going.

Right now I am researching lowcarb pickle recipes. I love pickles and we have some great cucumbers coming in the garden.

KERRI - Staying on track to make the exercise a habit can be difficult, I do know when I can have problems, like coming off of vacation. WALK away from the cake, it is not your friend!

Jdoggmartin - thanks for the encouragement from you and everyone. I am feeling pretty confident at this point. I can stay on track when I am around my MIL for example, though DH does go in for the treats, he can always find an excuse, I just have to stay the course. I won't be weight lifting while away but plan to do some serious walking on my own, which will be motivating as well as relaxing for me. My real problem will be once I get home, somehow the post stress is always my failing, I just lose it once I am home again. I won't do that this time, I am going to have my gym stuff ready to go, my food plan on the fridge and everything.

Food so far today:

1 egg, 1 white cheese omlet, 24 oz water
decaf coffee
grilled chicken breast, 1/2 cup cuke slices, 24 oz water

Hi Karen! So glad you're feeling better. Chest colds/infections are the worst. It's smart of you to make sure you're over it before running again. I've heard that running while having that type of infection can put stress on the heart.

I'm doing well this week. After yesterday I've officially made it 12 days OP. I also made it to the gym again this a.m. to record another 3.25 miles. So, all is well. I'm hoping to get one more run in this weekend, but I guess we'll just have to see.

Hope everyone else is doing well! Have a great weekend!

Thumbs up

Hey Karen, I'm new here and wanted first to send my contrats for losing the weight. I am in awe! Honestly I'm not sure what I weight its either 211 or 216 depending what scale I use. I like the first reading better though.
I just starting the boot camp stage 2 days ago. I'm excited and I have the mind set like never before. I will do this no matter how long it takes me!!
It is so encouraging to see someone achieving their goals. You should be so proud of yourself!! I'm doing the banana dance for you now!
