Default this is my first time..

hello, im 20 yrs old and i started doing atkins about 2.5 weeks ago. i am travelling around europe right now, so i don't have the book but i've tried it once before [quit after about a week] so i know the routine and i've been eating no carbs whatsoever...except hidden carbs that i might not know about. but ITS NOT WORKING. I still feel the same, my clothes fit the same and even though some are saying a look a little skinnier perhaps, it's not noticable..not to me at all. I don't know what to do. Part of me whats to give up, but i know if i stop, i'll just fall into the same habits. i weigh 150 lbs and i want to be down to 120 and i don't know what i'm doing wrong. Any advice or anything would be great. thanks!

NO carbs? What about veggies?? Eggs?? Holy Smoly if you're not eating carbs you're doing the "old" version. The "new" version allows up to 20 carbs (veggies and such). How's your water intake? Exercise? Are you eating out or making your own meals? Are you sure the "hidden" carbs aren't the culprit?

okay, well i have eggs and veggies everyday...so those count i'm sure. i don't work out that much, but i walk ALOT being that im in europe. and those hidden carbs might be the culprit but i just don't see how i can possible be having more than like 25 carbs a day...i drink water too, not alot tho, not as much as i should probably..does that make a huge difference. also im pms-ing so i dont know if perhaps im bloating which is why im gaining a little..

TOM has some to do with it. And not drinking enough water could. What are you drinking in place of water? Sometimes people don't lose if they're drinking or have any aspartame. And you'd be surprised at what has carbs. If you're eating those breakfast bars or other stuff with sugar alcohols that could do it also.

Since you have access to the net, check out www.atkins.com. The entire program is available on line. All the acceptable foods for stage 1 are there.
Check it out and good luck.

Not necessarily. You could give it a try for a short time and see if that helps. What else are you drinking? Or what are you eating? Could you post a few meals you've eaten so we can see what's there? Maybe you're not eating enough. There's all different reasons you might not be losing weight.

Maybe your eating to many calories? I would bet your eating more carbs than you think. Jane is right, read the atkins website, that will help you soooooo much.

Good luck and have fun in europe !!

What else are you eating? drinking? where in Europe are you?
take advantage of all of the fresh, regional fruit and veg of course, watch out for real cream in the coffee, scrumptious desserts, too much alcohol, pommes frites everywhere. Be sure to drink enough water - try to find the still water (unless you like the fizzy kind)

Can you give us a list of what you eat in a normal day? That would certainly make it easier to see if there's something you're missing (or should be missing)
