Default Wednesday 7/28 Chat

1/2 way through the week. WAHOO!!! The kittens go to the vet tomorrow for their first shots and checkup. As soon as we know they're "bug free" they'll get to roam the house. Snafu tried to make a great escape over the baby gate yesterday. Saw the dog coming and hopped back in as if to say "nyah nyah you can't catch us." DH didn't find it amusing I managed to stay OP despite the call of the BD cake that's still sitting on the counter. And the scale says I'm down the 2 pounds I was up. So life is good (so far). Now if a few more of those pesky pounds would drop I'd be on a roll The DD's bought a swimming pool yesterday. So I'm going to work on filling it up and then I can splash around in it after work when it's hotter than

Good Morning Brenda! Congrats on staying OP! I know that you can do it! Also, congrats on the scale reading!!!! That's funny about the cat seeing the dog and jumping back over. Rocky is almost 100lbs and is scared of his own shadow. He will go after the neighbor's dog and when the dog comes after him he runs like crazy to get to me. As if to say "You can't get me when my mommy's here" Animals can be so darn funny! Hope you have a great day!

Well, just another day at work for me. And I have to work tomorrow on my normal day off. Told them I would because I was supposed to be getting off of Saturdays. Well, the girl can't start my Saturdays for 2 more weeks, so looks like I am stuck with a 6 day week this week! We were planning to head to the beach early Saturday morning. Now that I have to work Saturday, looks like we will be heading down there Saturday evening. DH and his dad are going out fishing. DH is excited because he has been wanting to go for about a month now. I am usually his fishing partner, but last 2 times we went it has made me sooooo sick, so i said no more til the baby comes. I am looking forward to just lounging around in the A/C and watching tv. A lazy Sunday is surely in the works Hope everyone has a great day. I'm off to work and will check in later!

Good Morning,

Congrats Brenda !!

Lisa

Well I got on the scale and I'm at a stand still. My first week on induction and nothing..... I'm tired girls, just tired. Do I really have to starve myself to lose? it seems like it (starve meaning below 1200) you know when I was on Nutrasystem, they put me on a 1200 calorie a day diet and I didn't lose... I ate nothing but their foods, and lost zilch. When they switched me to 1000 I lost... sigh.

I want a cinnamon bun ooozing w/icing.... so there !

Brenda: I love kittie stories They are just too darn cute. Take pictures and post please!

Lisa: Please don't work too hard. I am so jeleous that you have a place at the beach. My DH and I need a place to go to once in a while....someplace that isn't HOME! I want to go to the Cape sometime in September for a couple of nights. I should start looking into it..........

Leenie: OK.....have you seen a doctor? I know people always say that but maybe you should and talk to them about this. I hope you don't mind me asking but I don't see your stats.....what is your weight and what was your starting weight? How tall etc......Have you tried using Fitday or the Food Log here?
Listen to me.....like I am one to talk!

Morti was here yesterday....Shimma was in a week back or so and said that she has been busy with her apartment since her sister moved out.

Hi all

Just a quick drive-by to let ya'll know I'm still alive and kicking. Leenie, thanks for asking about me... just been busy busy busy.

I finally got the apartment all moved around to my satisfaction, the carpets cleaned (what a chore!), the walls washed down and the scuff marks removed, and now I need to organize the closets and all the crap we're storing. My BF, bless his lil heart, insists on keeping the boxes to his TV, computer, kitchen appliances etc, because things are easier to move when they're in boxes..... While this may be true, it also means I have HUGE boxes to store. Ugh.
We're having some financial troubles as well. His internship has turned into a part time job with all the days they're sending him home early with no work. That internship gets over with in the middle of August and he's scrambling and trying to find a job. We had high hopes for a teaching position at the local community college until he called yesterday to check on his app. and they said they were interviewing this week and if they didn't get anyone this week then they would definitely call him for an interview.... Not the greatest news on the planet. So, once again I'm tearing around trying to get a part time job. I have no clue when he's gonna find a job but I want to give him ample time to find one.... and meanwhile my money is disappearing fast!
Other than all that, things are pretty good with me. It's nice having my sister out of the apartment, although I miss her dearly. We had a "Queer as Folk" night on Monday. She belongs to Netflicks and we're both seriously addicted to that TV show.... just finished the first season Monday night. Anyone else out there watch that? One thing that does suck though is that she's an hour away. I was expecting her just to get her own apartment in Rockford here but moving to Elgin cut a 45 minute drive out of her day, so I guess I can't blame her.

How's everyone else doing?
Brenda: You got kittens?? I got a new one too!!!
Jane: I think I read somewhere that you bumped your head, hope you're feeling ok.
Leenie: I would go get your hormone levels checked.... those hormones can screw up an awful lot of stuff. 1000 calories a day is tough to do on ANY plan....

Hey! I forgot to tell you all about my new find! I went shopping last night for groceries and since my local low carb store has closed I was walking the bread isle seeing if there were any good low carb bagels. Well there weren't any that were worth the carbs. While I was perusing the breads I came upon a low carb bread with only 5 grams per slice. It is made by Pepperidge Farm and is 7 grain. No tricks, no lies....it really is just 8 grams of carb and 3 grams of fiber per slice. No soy, real whole wheat. Well I thought I would give it a shot. I had a slice this morning with some cream cheese with chive on it....YUM! Not as filling of course but still something different. I also made a half a ham and cheese sandwich for lunch. I thought that two slices would certainly put me over the top today but when I logged in on FitDay I am only at 17...not counting dinner but I am taking in over 20 grams these days.

So all and all not a bad way to get in some bread, fiber and other nutrients if I do say so myself!

Lisa: Hope you get off the weekends soon. Sounds like you're overdoing it!!

Leenie: You're at the place I'm at I think. I don't want to have to starve myself to lose weight. I'm at this weight and I know if I cut back on what I eat I'd lose more--but how much do I want to cut out to achieve the "perfect look" I want? I don't keep track of my calories. Hope you get off the stand still soon w/out cutting back on food

Jane: How's it going? I've got pictures, I just have to take the time to shrink them so they'll fit on here. I'll try and get that done today. At the moment they're fighting w/each other....and screeching when they get bit too hard REAL bread?? OMG that would be great!!! I could make an egg sandwich I'll have to look for that find!

Shimma: Hi there and hope all goes well with you and BF soon. Congrats on the kitty addition.

Herb: Hi there! Hope your weather warms up soon. Want some of ours? It's finally figured out how to get warm. I'd prefer the cooler weather myself!

Laura: Get your butt back into the swing of things and get back in here Hope you enjoyed your vacation!

The swimming pool still isn't full-even after having the hose in it for 3 hours yesterday. At this rate it'll be winter before that thing is full. There's a LONG way to go before it's full. The girls are waiting impatiently. Truthfully with as hot as it is...I'd like a refreshing dip myself. That means I'd have to find my suit though. lol

Jane, I just had blood work done 2 weeks ago, thyroid is fine, everything looks good. Yes, I do use fitday, thats how I know my calories, I'm not good at eyeballing things so I measure all my food on my scale thats sitting on my kitchen table, etc. I've actually been exercising too. Just walking really. GRRRRRRRRRR I"m not giving up, I'm just pissed thats all.

Brenda I think your right !!

Morti, Shimma, Herb, its SOOOOOOOOO nice to see you again. Morti don't lurk even if your not on plan, so what, come in and talk. We love you any way you are. Heck, I'm hardly on plan these days...even gained 12 lbs back 3FC's isn't just about supporting folks dieting, I believe its supporting each other thru all aspects of life, its a community of friends and thats what friends are for.

Well said Leenie!!

Hi girls!!!

I have been trying take my carbs up to find my critcal level or whatever it's called. Well, guess what? In the process I've lost 7 pounds. Now that might sound ok, but in less than 2 weeks? I'm kinda worried! I'm thinking about going to see the DR if this doesn't stop. I am at the point where I'd like to taper off until I reach goal, but I"m not expecting to reach goal until the end of the year! (not the end of next month!) So, advice? Hold steady and wait? make the appointment?

Leenie: the exercise could be what's doing it Remember what we always say about exercising...it'll be the death of you Could be the reason you're in limbo?

Lori: You lucky duck you!! Increasing your carbs AND losing weight at the same time. That just isn't fair. Congrats!!!!
