Update on DBH (dear butt-head). He's now realized the error of his ways and has committed more quality time to me. Quality meaning time not spent in front of any sort of glowing screen. Yippee! Now if he's smart enough to buy me an appropriate sort of present as an additional apology/show of affection, I will have hope in his trainability!

I just told him.

I have this firm belief that you can't get mad at someone for not meeting expectations if they don't know what the expectations are. So I told him that I was feeling particularily neglected and therefore needy and that that needed to change pronto if he cares at all about my happiness.

So he apologized, and promised to pay better attention with all the requisite resurrance that nothing could ever possibly mean more to him than my happiness. So now, if he comes home with a present (as the situation clearly demands), he'll be in the clear. Otherwise, I may have to deem him a complete idiot and therefore untrainable and no longer worth my time

OH heck. I always speak my mind to DH and let him know in SPECIFICALLY what ails me and what HE could do to fix it....but it goes over his head. Guess that means I should tag him w/the "idget" sign?

FIVE PAGES!?


I leave you guys for a few days, and look what happens! I did read all five pages though!

I was actually at home home, visiting the parental units and the siblings for the past few days...gives me a chance to recharge from the city. I find city-living drains me after a while and I always need a good trip back home to the country to really energize myself.

I had a BBQ with all my friends from high school, on Saturday, of course, the coldest day of the weekend - never fails! Nice to see them, but a few of them have babies, so the BBQ/getting-together thing has a whole different dimension now. A strange one, which I'm not used to yet. And I noticed that my high school friends are loads quieter than my university friends. But I did succeed, I think, in getting one of my friends to semi-agree to come with me, at least for a week or two, to Scotland in the fall (if that's where I end up going), so that will be loads of fun!

I also heard from my friend who's getting married (the one who hadn't answered my emails in a long time), so that was nice - finally!! I really would have been disappointed if I had never heard from her again. She also hadn't heard either from our mutual friend, the one who's location is a bit of a mystery to all of us. So...who knows about that one? I'm sure she'll turn up eventually.

Lekker welcome back. Sounds like you're having fun. I grew up in the country and I'm hoping to slowly make my way back there again. Technically I don't live in the city OR the country. I live in a village I'm bringing in shrubs/trees so figure if I can't afford to move to the country the country's dang well going to be moved here
