The only chocolate bar I eat is called ZCarb because it's very low in sugar alcohols. I personally believe that sugar alcohols count as carbs since they're digested and I'm not doing this for my blood sugar (see the FAQ at the top of our little forum for more on sugar alcohols).

Ok, guys and gals! I actually got a little emotional over this one yesterday:

I found........... are you ready?..................reduced carb english muffins! One of the very few things that I truly miss. I wanted to cry and do a happy dance all at the same time! They're made by Franz and are 13 grams each. Way too high for induction, but I've only got 10 pounds left to go and I wanted them!

The good - they're very yummy!

The bad - no nooks and crannies! What's an english muffin without nooks and crannies??? These are more like those Australian biscuits.

Now you know we need those nooks and crannies to catch that melted hot butter..LOL Maybe we should write them and request nooks and crannies?? I mean everything must just slide off eh???

Default Low sugar frappuccino bars

Be still my beating heart! Starbucks has a low sugar Caffe Vanilla frappuccino bar. If the manufacturer is not lying, it has 20g of Carbs, 9g of fiber and 1g of sugar alcohol, for a total of 12g of Carbs.
I decided to believe the manufacturer on this one, because I gave up frappuccino bars last January when I started Atkins.
While 12g is a lot, it was worth every bite!

Oh, the food adventures I go on for you! All in the name of research, right? Here's 3, that's right, 3 for today:

Doritos Edge
The Scoop: Soy-based version of Doritos. 6 grams of carbs for a 1 ounce bag.
The Verdict: I found these at Subway on day for only $1.00 a bag so I figured I'd give it a try. Almost a week later, I finally did. 3 days after that I finished the bag. They're ok. That's definitely Doritos cheese on the chips, but the chips themselves are a little funky. This may just be my own little bias against soy chips. I could only eat 3 or 4 chips at a time. Still, a decent occasional snack.

Bacardi Low Carb Black Cherry
The Scoop: Brenda, your prayers have been answered! A black cherry flavored malt beverage. It's sweetened with sucralose (Splenda) so the carb count is a true 2.6 per bottle.
The Verdict: Personally, I was disappointed in this one. It seemed too much malt, not enough black cherry. BUT since I'm not accustomed to these kinds of drinks, maybe that's just what they're like. I still think I'll be more than happy to have one on a hot day.

Yoplait Ultra
The Scoop: We knew it was coming! Yoplait now has low carb yogurt. The label is a little confusing since it doesn't list fiber (if there is any). It says 8 grams of carbs and 5 grams of sugar. So, who knows?
The Verdict: Very good! First, I was very happy that it was a full 6 ounces instead of 4. It's thick - like they're normal custard style. And the taste is really good. The only bummer is that there is no real fruit in it (I like the little chunks of fruit). Still, this will be appearing for breakfast on a more regular basis.

Oh my!! I can't wait to try the Bacardi LC drink!! I'll be keeping an eye open for it I've tried the Kraft Carb Sense French dressing and LOVE it. It might replace the no carb other stuff I was using (Walden Farms). I've also tried the chips ahoy chocolate chip cookies. Leaves a little aftertaste, but DH and I usually share a cookie so we're making the box last. Good for it you're DYING for a cookie.
I've STILL got low carb bread in the freezer I've not tried yet. lol. I love the apple cinnamon or even the chocolate chip muffins mixes by ketogenics

Ok. You had me curious so the other day I went to the grocery store that usually carries my low carb stuff and went into their liquor store. Imagine my surprise when they HAD the LC Bacardi. So of course I had to pick up 2 (I thought DH was going to drink some but he said they're both for me ) 6 packs. Went home, popped the top on one....and decided....it DEFINITELY is a drink you want COLD. From the time we went from the store to home it had gotten warm. To me it tasted like fruit punch--NON alcoholic. So for that alone I only drank 1/2 the bottle and stuck it back in the fridge. That stuff could be lethal to my head if I didn't watch out

I'm resurrecting this for my latest find:

Low Carb Eggos!!!!!!!!

They are 4 grams each and taste an awful lot like the real thing. I am soooooo happy!

Disclaimer: As with all frankenfoods, this is good on occasion and should not be used as a staple.

Blue bunny carb freedom yogurt!!!!! OMG, so good, the texture just like regular yogurt and it is unbelievably good! No chalky taste or anything. I love their vanilla creme with some berries and lc granola!

Only 5 grams of carbs per 6oz serving and walmart sells em 2 for $1.00

I'm a firm believer in giving in when you've got a major "eat or kills someone" urge.

Discovered:
CarbWell "brownies" 9 grams per "brownie" but well worth it IMO.
CarbWell Peanut Butter Cereal Bars. Hard & Chewy but if you're dieing for peanut butter there ya go! (just got the cranberry almond but haven't tried it yet).

I'm a big fan of grapefruit juice, and I've found a LC version, thank goodness! It's by Carb Countdown, and it's called Ruby Red Grapefruit Drink (it's in the juice section). It's 3 carbs for 8 oz. -- kind of high, but for a grapefruit juice freak like me, well worth it!

You're kidding!! I think I'm going to have to remember (or try to) to check that out. I miss drinking grapefruit juice. Used to be that's all I EVER drank (besides soda that is). lol Maybe if I got that again I wouldn't miss milk so much.

I love grapefruit juice, too, and I used to drink it constantly. This obviously isn't as good as the real thing, but it's a nice enough substitute. It at least still has the flavor. (Can you tell I'm desperate for any thing that somewhat resembles grapefruit juice?? )

I hear you on that one!! Next time I'm in that general direction I plan on looking for it. You know, I never look for LC stuff unless you all mention it.

Brenda - On the brownie front, I think Betty Crocker's 'Carb Moniter' brand is way better than Krusteaz. And they're chocolate chip cookie mix is pretty darn good, too!

Recent adventures have included:

Dreamfields pasta - Excellent! But I'm not sure I buy in on their carb count. Also, I only recommend it for side dishes since eating a larger amount will result in gas/bloating

Michael Angelo's 'hot pockets' - I don't remember exactly what they're called but they're just like soft hot pockets. 9 grams each and very yummy! Only take 1.5 minutes to nuke, too.

Red Baron french bread pizza - GROSS!!! I could not stomach the nastiness that was the french bread. I took two bites and threw it out.

Carb Countdown orange drink - Good! Reminds me a lot of Sunny D. I'm sticking with Crystal Light sunrise, though. Less carbs and just as yummy.

Minute Maid Light - MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!! I missed lemonade so much! Super low carb and very good. Quite possibly the single low carb item at McD's.

Mission low carb pasta - I tried out their lasagna noodles to make homemade lasagna and the results were really impressive! Not as low carb as dreamfields.

There! That should hold you for a while!

I love the sugar-free DaVinci syrups myself, but found I was spending a small fortune (because of my nasty coffee-drinking habit!).

Try this link. You can buy a GALLON jug of Torani caramel syrup (they offer others), and when you break it down, it's really cheap. It's good too!

Good luck!
