Speaking of cookies.....anyone have a good recipe for either oatmeal or "chocolate chip" cookies? I'm trying to figure out how to amend my recipe for chocolate chip cookies and I've got it almost all figured out....except what to use in place of the brown sugar. Any ideas??

FInd FInd FInd!!

I am a HUGE lover of Broccoli/cheese soup and I found the easy way to make it with this Carb Options double cheddar sauce (2 carbs per 1/4 cup) OOOOO it was soo good I just boiled up the Broccoli and them mashed it up and added the sauce and some parmesean cheese and mixed it all together and it tasted sooooooo great!!

Weird thing I found the cheddar sauce near the spaghetti sauce in my store....hmmmm you think it would be by the cheese or veleeta or something.

I tried out the low carb Special K today. I wanted to compare it to the Total Protein. The Special K is good too! The flakes are thinner and therefore more like normal cornflakes. It's also not as sweet as the Total.

I think I'm going to have to keep a box of each around so I have cornflake variety!

Do they both have the same amount of carbs? I think DH ate all the Total Protein that I bought. I forgot I had it.

Pretty close. Total is 8, Special K is 9. And both count the sugar alcohols that they use in the carb count

I found Carb Countdown Yogurt Smoothies tonight at Wal-Mart. I got the peach flavor, and it was quite tasty. Very similar to the Dannon LC yogurt in flavor. I'm still trying to determine if it has 3 or 4 carbs... I don't see sugar alcohols, but it mentions on the bottle that organic acids (1 gram carb) have no effect on blood sugar, and on the front it mentions 3 net carbs. In the nutrition information, it lists 4 total carbs. What is an organic acid??

VanIsle - I use a brand called Soy Slender. It's a sugar free soy milk sweetened with splenda and only has 1 gram of carbs per 8 ounces. Regular soy milk is full of sugar.

Welcome Jo-Anne!

This might be old news to you guys but here are some cool things that I found recently:
Hood brand low carb yogurt (3gms carbs, 80 cals, 13 gms protein) and Hood Yogurt smoothies (5gms carbs, 100cals and, 12 gms protein) NUM! They are really good and also help me keep my protein up. I also tried the Z carb bars (at StarPrincesss' suggestion) and they are really good. Another brand I found at the Lo Carb store that doesn't have Maltilol is Brown and Haley bars (the makers of Almond Roca) and they have a lot of fiber, as well.

XOXO
