Journeygirl: Congrats on the compliment from DH!! Bet that was great! I've got the Atkins bake mix. It's ok I guess. I haven't tried it on anything but brownies though

Star: Oh lucky you! You'll have to let us know how the surgery goes. Are you nervous at all? I look at my weight and can't figure out HOW it (25 pounds so far) has disappeared. And with what I eat? It's great. And I can't imagine being as close to goal as you are! Congrats!!!

Shimma: I'm glad I don't have to worry about laundromats anymore. They're pretty scuzzy in my area. It was bad enough doing the laundry in the basement of the apartment building we used to live in (NOBODY ever went down there..so who knows HOW long a person could hide there!!)

Mrs H: have a great day off!!

TG: Congrats on making your weekly goal!

Catgirl: Sorry to hear you're not feelng well. Hope the advil and coffee help

Leenie: Ok. I admit it. I found oomph yesterday. Um. Hm. How to explain. Well, let's just say DH had something to do w/it Soo...then I needed to exercise more.

Jina: Glad you had fun w/your dad. That's the main thing!!

Jane: well, there's more to the course than shooting. You have to know the parts of the gun, different gun carries, etc. Tons of stuff that to me (who doesn't hunt) doesn't make sense. Congrats on the clothes "shopping"!! I've still not got the guts to do that!!

Well, I'm at work. The nasty boss gone (only the nice boss is here) so I get to goof off. WOOHOO!! I've done work this morning so I figured I'd pop in here and see what's up I always get lost when I get home so I have a hard time catching up on you all (one of the bad things of posting first. lol)
OH!! We had stupid SNOW again! GRRR So much for spring being here!!!

Michele: I think a lot of us are flipping back to induction. You'll do great! Congrats on learning what triggers you! I've yet to figure that one out. Life? Keep up the good work-you'll get to where you want to be yet

Southern Girl, I don't think I will be drinking anytime soon! I am not a big drinker, but I love red wine. I must still be in some form of ketosis, because I am not hungry, and I have energy. I think we are supposed to be able to incorporate stuff like wine sometimes. I think the next time, I will pass! I feel much better now!

Star: I ate yesterday, but only meat and eggs. Yuck! I didn't eat any veggies at all. Pretty unhealthy, but I wanted to party! Pretty unhealthy too! This is how silly I sounded yesterday: I said hey if red wine only has 2.2 carbs per four ounces, I can have five glasses! That will be my 20 grams. Do I sound like a wino or what?

Catgirl: Well, at least you had fun right? I normally don't drink but I had a Bacardi O (Silver). I guess it wasn't low carb. GRRR. So looks like my hopes of going back into ketosis soon is down the drain. Oh well. It'll happen (some year)

If it makes you feel better, I had 2 miller lights last night. And I don't even like beer! I know I'm a drinker, though. So if a friend wants to meet at the bar and I don't want to go overboard, I'm much better off sipping on 2 beers over 3 hours than downing 3 hard drinks in that time or less.

OMG - I'm a lush!

Hi everyone,
Well, I'd say I've been busy as a bee lately, but I don't think bees ever experience the crushing amount of stress and dread that was associated with all the work I've had the past couple days/weeks. But, I turned in two huge assignments today, so I've got a little bit of a reprieve. Last night was one of my best friends birthdays, so I had to tear myself away from my work to help celebrate. We started with pizzia at another firends house, and there was absolutely nothing I could eat. Since I was hungry I had to resort to the Atkins bar I'd been saving in my purse in case I absolutely needed something sweet when everyone else was eating cake. I'm hoping that now that I've got more time I'll be eating less fake food. Tonight my cooking club is having a cookie theme night, but I really want to stop eating those horrible bars, so I'm just going to have to be tough and stay away from sweets alltogether.

Brenda- I have the same problem with my Tuesday Genetics Lab that you have with hunters safety. I'd really like to start getting mine done by Monday night, but it just never seems to happen.

Jane- Closet shopping and new-clothes-becuase-your-old-ones-are-too-big shopping: lucky, lucky you! Have a great time.

Leenie- Hope you get to the bottom of this foot problem so you have less of a reason not to exercise.

Catgirl- Everyone needs a night like that once in a while. I hope the hangover heals quickly.

TG- Sorry about your dog's tail!

Mrs. H- Enjoy your lazy day.

Jina- Don't worry, you'll get back on track. Although, that ice cream with peanut butter thing sounds really good.

Shimma- Sorry you had such a bad day. At least you have clean clothes. I'm so behind on laundry I'm completely out of socks.

Star- good luck with your surgery tomorrow!

Journey- Nice to meet you.

Michelle- Good luck with induction. Also, I've seen some of those Discovery Channel Obesity shows, and never have I been more motivated to lose weight!

Have a good day.
Abbie

Wow, busy place today.......ok here goes.................

Genghis Cohen: You gave up pizza for an Atkins bar!!!!! I am bowing down to you as we speak! Sorry about all the stress you are under. Will things get better by summer? Are you in school?

StarPrincess: We can be lushes together.....I find it very hard to give up my wine. I have been good lately though during the week....hasn't made my weight fly off either....... hhhmmmm. Let us know how the pre-op went.

lady_adnerb: I know what you mean about the afternoon posts....you and I are usually the early birds so when we check in in the afternoon there are so many people to respond to. Have fun goofin off this afternoon.

southerngirl: I'm glad the program helped you see what you need to change. Being thin will definitely not make the "bad" things come back. You are a different person now I'm sure in so many ways. Try to stay as stress free as possible. That never helps us.

Journey Girl: I use the ketchup. Tastes just like regular ketchup to me. I had some shrimp last night and made cocktail sauce with some Atkins ketchup and horseradish. Geez....never did think to check the count on the horseradish. duh.

Shimma: Skanky bathrooms missing boyfriend

Mrs H: Have fun on your day off. Boy I wish I could take a day to just have fun. Have to wait till next month. Trying on clothes is still not one of my favorite things to do but maybe by the summer I will be at goal and will shop everyday!!!!!

Theo'sgirl: Congrats on making your weekly goal! Poor puppy....he will have to wag his butt from now on when he is happy.

Catgirl67: Was it bar red wine or good red wine? Bar wines will make you pay twice...once at the bar and again the next day. Cheap wine is a killer!
Hope you feel better later. There is always tomorrow. I'm thinking of a song.............................................

ok, that is all the afternoon posts......hello again to the morning group

Afternoon Ladies,
Today at work was horrible as I'm assuming the rest of the week will be. My boss is out of town for classes so we have the big boss running the show until she gets back.. OYE this man is ruthless! I just want to explode and tell these top guns HEY!!! Have a little damn respect for us peons because without us YOU would not be making the kind of money you are now, and what makes YOU so much better then ME just because you make more money????? If you want to be treated with respect and you want people to listen to you.. then maybe you should treat us with the same common curtiousy!!!!!! ARGGGG.. ok a little stress there yes, thanks for letting me vent

Brenda - I'm sure you will do just great on your test, even if you cant remember all the information I'm sure they wont have each tidbit on the test. Target practice sounds like a thrill.. have fun with it!

Jane - Shopping Fun! I can't wait until I get to the stage where I can't wear anything I have and I have to give a healthy "big" box to goodwill. It must feel great!

Leenie - I hope your doctors appointment goes well and they find out whats giving you your problems. Painful feet are simply the worst!

Jdogg - Daddy was down and you two had a great time! Why fret over the icecream and a few missed walks? You have the rest of your life to make up for that one week of not so good eating.. but spending time with your father doesnt happen everyday, cherish THAT moment

Cat - Sounds like you had a great time and I hope the aftereffects wear off for you soon

Theo - Busy days are always a tad hectic, good for you still making time to squeeze in the gym!

MrsH - Have a great lazy day! I hope your weather is a tad better then ours here.. they predicted snow but thank heavens is only rain!

Shimma - Sounds like you had the night from ****! I hate laundromates! Cheer up on the bf.. he's still with you even if not next to you, I'm sure he's missing you just as much as you miss him. Time apart always makes the time together more appreciated and enjoyed.

Star - Way to go on the pound down! I have been noticing that my shoes are getting a tad sloppy. They just don't seem to fit like they used to. On your question tho, I'll have to wait to answer it until I reach a significant amount of loss, which I WILL do

Journey - Lucky you on finding the thick n thin.. It seems to be a rare item around these parts. My mother uses it in a ton of things and she makes this awesome creamed cabbage with it. I'll have to steal her secret recipe and post it.

South - I have to say one of the most enjoyable things about this woe is watching my BMI drop. Every week I plug in my new weight and see it go down a bit. I can't wait until I'm in the "healthy" zone!

Genghis - Yea those bars aren't so great, but I don't think you are doing anything wrong. I mean whats worse.. one of the bars or that big piece of cake topped off with some cookies! BRAVO for avoiding the pizza!!

Now all I do is wonder how many of my posts would it take to wrap complete around the world Hope everyone has a delightful evening!

Hi Gang!

You are NEVER going to believe the doozy of a day I had yesterday!!

I did so good, and got up to do my run at 5AM. Everything is going well! Got home showered, got My DD off to school, DS stayed home with a flu bug and DH worked from home. I dropped DD off then went to the dentist to have a crown replaced.

Well, the doctor gives me the first shot of novacaine and guess what?? I passed out!!! OMG! When I came to a couple of seconds later, I was sitting upright and had a cool compress on my head. To make a long story short, I ended up at my GP's yesterday afternoon and found out that Because of my workout in the morning, my heart was already pumping hard. With the stuff that they had in that novacaine, it caused me to pump harder and thus I passed out... Note to self... NO WORKOUTS BEFORE GOING TO THE DENTIST!

I did get the crown worked on. But I felt like for the rest of the day!!!

The good news is that I am down a pound this week!

The bad news is that I am allergic to exercise! Actually for 3 days in a row, when I worked out (Cardio only) I break out in hives on my forearms! Seriously! The doctor things it might be heat realated, but I have to call my allergist on thursday to see what he has to say about it. Very very weird!

Oh yesterday was so gorgeous I had to put shorts on.. so Remember the shorts that fell off me a couple of weeks ago? I put those back on with a belt... I am going to go shopping during Easter break for some summer clothes!

Someone asked how the bars could say 3 grams on the front with 12 carbs and 2 of fiber... the rest are sugar alcohols. Atkins says that they can be subtracked from the totals because the do not impact us. But depending on who you are, you might have to take them into consideration. Some people stall out with them. Some people have a laxative effect with them (Me included) others have no problems. I use them a lot because they save me during TOM!

I wish I could get more personal.. but I have to update my website and get my April newsletter ready to go!

Talk to you soon! - Hugs to all!

Wow, Karen! I knew that novacane has epinephrine in it (synthetic adrenaline) but it never would have occured to me that if my heart rate was already up it could make me pass out! Yikes!

Glad that you're ok - and I hope all goes well with the allergist!
