Hi Randi! WELCOME! I post and read here frequently, and I recommened that you do too! This site has given me such great advice and inspiration. I have been on Atkins since January 6, 2004. I have lost 16 pounds! There are a lot of people that have lost a lot more than me, but 16 pounds is better than no pounds!

I can offer this advice:

Try to stay away from sugar alcohols as much as you can. I was eating sugar-free ice cream, candy, soda, etc. and it made my weight loss completely stall for 2-3 weeks...not fun!

DRINK YOUR WATER! I found that drinking tons of water everyday prevented my headaches!

When you're craving something, eat a piece of cheese or a slice of bacon. This will prevent you from cheating.

If you do cheat, think to yourself, "Tomorrow is another day" and start all over. Don't give up on this way of life/eating. SOmedays are harder than others.

When you feel like giving up, come in here and get some support! We're here for you! We're all in the same boat and need encouragement from time to time.

Don't be afraid to ask questions in here. There are a lot of experts!

Hi chick, congrats on your weightloss too! Thanks for the warm welcome. I love your quote about taking care of yourself. Im actually going to print it up and stick it on my bedroom wall, next to my alarm clock. Good excersize motivation.

Catgirl, thanks for the advice on the vitamins. I didn't even know they put startch or fillers in them! Geesh, there are hidden "killjoys" everywhere! No wonder its so hard to lose weight anymore.
