spedmom, that's great!

I actually snuck in early for that chat this time!! This morning I hopped on the scale and saw I'd gained back 3 of the 7 pounds I lost on induction. It was unsettling, but I'm thinking it may just be near to TOM or a fluke. I've been doing fine and my ketostix are still dark purple, so nothing has upset ketosis as far as I can tell. I did eat sushi last night (sashimi, so just the raw fish, no rice) so that may have caused some water retention. I had soy sauce, but only about 1 tablespoon (=1-2 carbs).

This morning I made the flax seed oatmeal, it was pretty good I used 2 T ground flax seeds, 1 scoop plain protein powder, 1 teaspoon splenda, dash of cinnamon and 1/8 cup half and half. When I get my davinci syrups in (ordered them offline) I'll change to those and cut out the carb from splenda. It was a nice departure from eggs and I'm sure the fiber will do wonders.

I'm leaving work today early to get my hair done--which is one of my favorite things to do. I always feel like a total babe after going to the salon

Theo'sgirl : Thanks, I've been really working at it and even started exercising and being more contientious about picking up my pace when I walk somewhere or just going for a quick walk around the school building when I have a free moment... so I'm really trying!!!
My day went from fab to drab pretty quickly. Got a phone call re: my late grandmother's affairs which was unsettling, my mother's long term boyfriend found out his mother has a brain tumor (I've known this woman since I was 7 or 8) and to top that off, I'm having some serious man issues. Ugh. Definitely just one of those days where I want to snuggle up in bed, watch my favorite movie and forget the world is even out there...

Khem: you just reminded me.....I got my hair cut last weekend by a new stylist (mine retired after I had been going to him for 27 years!) I don't like the way it came out. Not the worst cut I ever got but not the best. I don't know what to say to the friend of mine that recommended him. Any ideas?
I wouldn't mind giving him a second chance but I don't know..........
Have fun being a babe after the salon

Shimma: So sorry about all that is going on, my thoughts are with you. And as for the man issues! boy have we all had them. I know I could tell you a thing or two. Hang in there.

Oh man,I sure wish TOM would put in it's appearance and disappear already! This is like 3 days late now (I've been late before but I've got things I need to do this weekend that I didn't want to worry about TOM being around. lol)! GRRR. And I keep thinking if it'd just get done and over with I could go back to eating NORMAL!!! I keep having this urge to chow on dozens of eggs, heaping mounds of salads (with tomatoes, cheese and peppers). The chocolate craving has seemed (for now) to disappear but what's w/the glutton urge? At least it's not for high carb no-no foods right? But I wanted to get back on strict induction and can't seem to get down the the 2-3 cups of lettuce a day. lol. I really AM a glutton right now. (keeping the size 12's on so they don't get TOO tight. One way of giving myself an incentive. lol).

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes.
It's snowing here again and I'm sitting here wondering if I'm going to make it to and from my class ok. Near as I can figure, I will head out in the direction of class and if I have even one little problem I'm calling my instructor and telling her I' m not going to make it and I'll make up the hours later. It's not worth getting stuck in a ditch.

Hey all...

Just popping in to say hi! Busy busy day here, but I think I'm going to transfer and finish my work at home, just to get a change of environment.

We've been lucky and have been pretty much too far north for any more snow so far. It's still pretty cold and windy, but at least the roads aren't mucking up.

Anyway, hopefully I'll get a chance to stop in later this evening and interact a little bit more.

Take care, Julie.

hi jane...my theory on hair cuts is we should never feel obligated to suffer bad ones. I went to a lady I'd became friends with for a long time--but it just never came out right. She had to cancel once and I went to a guy in another salon. I was so annoyed. It was $100 too. But alas, it was perfect. Not just perfect, better than what I thought i wanted. I never went back to her, and it's worth every cent of the $100 (I get it highlighted, layered, and styled). If your friend asks why you never went back, just tell her the truth: you are trying a bunch of stylists to experiment and find the one that suits you best.
