Hi everyone, I recognize a few of the names, I am the oldie that's new again. Some of you requested my blue cheese dressing recipe. Here it is better late than never.
2 cups sour cream
1 cup real mayo
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp. salt
juice of 1/4 lemon
1 1/2 cup blue cheese crumbles.
Just mix well and enjoy...
Sorry I didn't get this earlier, had to work all last weekend and this week, short on help. Anyhow, made it through induction 7 lbs. lighter. I wish every two weeks could be like that. Anyway I will keep reading the posts and maybe get to know you all sooner or later.
Take care.
Deb

i wasn't too hungry for the lunch meat anyway. but the Atkins bar was my main "snack" for when I got the chocolate munchies. That and I think I was over-doing the salads. But they taste SOOO good!!!!

Loon2: Thank you...I can't wait to try it. I like homemade dressings so much better than bottled.

In case anyone wants to know these are the numbers:

Per 1 Tbs.

Calories: 103
Fat: 10g
Carb: 1
Protein: 2

Sounds good to me.

Just got a PM from angel-eyes...she has been having problems getting onto the site for a few days. Wanted to know if anyone else was....I told her I noticed that it takes a while for the page to load lately but other than that I can get on......anyone else having problems.

Stupid question....if you were having problems you wouldn't see this message

Wow -- I'm actually logging in in the middle of the afternoon!!! DD became ill at school and I had to pick her up. Have been reading the day's loggings with interest. Personally, I have to completely forget about those breads, bars, and assorted sundries from the low carb store during the bulk of my weight loss. The last time I tried to sneak in some "legal" packaged carbs, it just left me wanting more and bemoaning my choice of this way of eating. If I slip in extra carbs, it's via the vegetable route!! Later I'll work on adding them in slowly, but for now I prefer to stick with 10-20 carbs a day and to not waste those precious carbs on just a few mouthfuls of gratification. If I'm going to add 10 carbs, you'd better believe it'll be in the form of a HUGE salad!

Sped, it is so good to hear you say that. I guess I just need a little extra encouragement today - reasons to not "indulge" in what I really want to eat, but rather focusing on what I CAN eat.

If I give in and eat something like a sandwich (like I did yesterday) it does leave me wanting more and more carbs. I can't do it... unless it's sourdough. LOL!!!

I need to really focus and get back to the 20-25 carbs a day... with more veggies...

Hi everyone... I am lurking lately since I am involved in some huge projects at work and then go home to a disaster of a home as we are doing some home improvements (ourselves). Painting until 3AM, refinishing floors etc. But we KNOW we don't do ANYTHING once the pool opens in May so our winters are spent working on the house.

Trying desperately to get back into Ketosis. I fell off over the holidays and just haven't been able to get that mindset back fully. I am at 219 today - but since Oct. I have fluctuated between 214 and 219. I was doing so well and I KNOW it's mostly a head game with me. But I have been under 20 gr yesterday and today and I already feel much better today. In any event I have learned one major life changing skill.... to get on the scale and face whatever gain and try again and again. I used to just blow it all and NOT go near the scale for months. Now I am learning (finally - at 39 years old) that I cannot ignore what is happening to my body. I need to take control and get back on plan.

Gotta run all - glad to see so many new faces. I love this plan and even though it is SO TOUGH in the beginning - it is a wonderful feeling when you are in control!

Good evening everyone!

I've been weird for the past few days...on plan for breakfast and lunch, then goofing up at dinner. I'll keep working on it ... at least it's not all the meals!

Kim, Lisa, nice to see you pop in...although there are still several ladies that we haven't seen around here much lately. Hope all of you missing in action ladies are doing okay (Maybe your just lurking lately? I know I just lurk when I get busy.) Of course, I've only been around in the evenings, so I'm not one to talk.

One of my friends was having his laser eye surgery done today, but something was wrong with the machine, so they had to stop the surgery, but after they had already started to cut the 'flaps'. So now, he has to wait for a few months for the flaps to completely heal before he can go back and finally get his surgery done! He's already had two cancellations at another clinic. It seems like the fates are against him getting his eyes done.

I got a postcard from Copenhagen today! I love my friends all over the world! Snail-mail always cheers me up.

I've decided that I'm going to use my other free movie pass on "Girl With a Pearl Earring." It's set in Delft, The Netherlands, and that's the city where I lived when I lived in Holland, so I'm excited to see some of the sites in the movie. It was partially filmed in Delft, and I think the rest in Luxembourg. Some of my friends that I met in Delft have seen it and really liked it. Anyway, I'm going to check that out this weekend - I can't wait to see Delft in the movie - I always find it bizarre when I recognize the scenery in movies...bizarre but fun. I heard that the book was good as well.

Well, that's all for now...hopefully I'll be back in the swing of things soon and able to post earlier in the day & be more in the action.

Later!

Talking I Miss You Guys So Much!!!

I am feeling so disconnected....busy at work and can't even log on at lunch...so have to scrounge evening time to read and post.

Congrats Star to getting so close to "normal"....

BizzyLizzy - ready about the cigs in the lunch box - I think you should put the lunch box back but put some of those Popeye candy cigarettes inside - and try and be around when your SO tries to sneak a smoke - should be pretty funny!

Day 4 on the job and I am still trying to get my head around the organization and what I will be doing....also trying to deal with new computer systems (lotus notes and databases and common drives....ugh...). Have registered for a Lotus Notes course but have to wait til Feb 18th!...also have a few more courses already lined up (Orientation course Feb 3-4 and the introduction module to Performance Management to be followed by 3 others in march).

I am working in an all female environment (9 of us)...well actually the Director is male. Different age groups, backgrounds, etc.....one of my tasks this week is to sit with each member of the team for one hour and find out what they do. This is has been very fun and interesting...and I am finding out who I REALLY GET ALONG WITH...altho everyone is very nice I do have more in common with some and not others!

Trying to stick to plan...not bad, but I notice the bad wine fairy has gotten to me again....we decided to have some red wine with our lovely rib steak and salad dinner....which I think makes me lose control.....had to whip up some cream w/splenda....then half a bagel started calling my name.....I buttered up, enjoyed it...ready to move on. I am still in ketosis...and actually back in ketosis - which is a really good thing!

Lekker - tell us how the movie is! I also LOVE watching movies and actually seeing places I've been (that's me in the crowd yelling "I've been there, I've been there).

I too try to stay away from the nasty sugar alcohols - there is a pharmacy downstairs from where I work and the have a great selection of sf candy and chocolate...I have gone over to "look" at them, but have not yet bought any. I will wait tll I really NEED some and I know my tummy will get upset and I also question the whole net carbs thing so i try and avoid them. I now chew some sf gum when I start to get desperate!

Where's Jamie - anyone seen her lately?

Okay....lights out time - need my beauty sleep for tomorrow...can't believe I made it to Friday! I did check and they do dress down on Fridays (altho I must say some of the ladies dress extremely casually during the week)...so I look forward to wearing my jeans tomorrow (size 14 petite by the way!).

Later,

Froufy
