Default Are these foods allowed??

I was wondering if pre-packaged deli meats are okay on atkins? Its turkey and about 2g per serving. I was also wondering about some hebrew national hot dogs?

To answer your question, processed meats such as deli meats & hot dogs aren't the best choices. You need to read label's and make sure they don't contain sugar. Also keep in mind most processed items contain a lot of sodium that can cause you to retain water & stall your weightloss.

Years ago...when I first started Atkins (about 10 yrs ago), I used to eat the hot dogs and cheese (late at night), deli meats, etc... It was, at the time, the best I could do to let go of my old way of eating (Mickey Dees, Wendys, etc.)...I lost alot of weight...but as I have restarted the diet...I wouldn't recommend eating like that cuz it did cause "cravings"...probably from the hidden sugars. Since this is a life-long goal thingy...I would suggest trying to stick with "whole foods" as best you can...if just to keep cravings away! Joyce
