Default Weekly Chat April 9-15

Well, Easter is over and time for me to start fresh. Hope you all had a great Easter!! Time for me to get serious and make time for exercise! Even if it's just walking around the block!! Why is it SO easy to say "I'm going to do this" and so HARD to actually DO it? I know the scale is going to be up from what I ate yesterday. I was proud of myself though, I didn't gorge on candy or junk. Just didn't eat OP. So today's a brand new day How'd you all do?

Hi Brenda and Robin.

We didn't do anything special for Easter. So, I stayed on program and exercised yesterday. Actually one of my better days lately.

Right now, I need to get off the computer and go pay my bills. I'll check in later today.

It sounds like everyone did well over Easter, We didn't do anything special . sometimes I think I should take a day off, but I 'm so afraid of staling or gaining so I'll wait till i'm a little closer to goal. I was so tired on Saterday after my company left, I slept most of the day. Then yesterday went and did our grocery shopping and got ready for my trip (leaving tomorrow) I'm bringing some LC food with me, and told my mom I HAVE TO STAY OP while I'm there so she said she will buy lots of veg and good meat for me. They live an hour from the nearest town so its not like I can run to the store if I need something.

Good Morning Ladies

Hope everyone had a Happy Easter, We did,it was quite, just the two of us. We watch The "Masters" and we were hoping Tiger Woods would have come in first, but we were pleased to see some one new that received the title.

We had our Traditional German Saurbratten with all the fixings. This morning I took my first Actonel Tablet for the Big "O" and it wasn't as bad as the I thought it was going to be.Hope that they'll work and by the next done density test my bones will be healthy again.

Lily-Happy you stayed OP,I did also, but not 100% had Spetzel[German Pasta] to soak up the delicous gravy.

Jae-Congrats on your 3 lb loss. You're doing fantastic on this Holiday weekend.I know what you me with baby grandchildren. Mine are 6yrs 5 yrs and 3 yrs old. No more babies anymore.

Hugs BB

I'm back from paying bills. That's always a hi-light of my month. LOL.

DH is searching frantically for a new boat. This scares me as our money is tight for now. Extra expenses galore. We're paying for SD's senior pictures , plus 2 kids B-days next month and a graduation. I think we need to wait til June to buy a boat. He hates to WAIT for anything, but I'm gonna try to reason with him. It makes much more sense to buy in June as that is when boat tags come due anyway. If we bought now, we'd have to tag it now and then turn around and tag it again in June. Which seems like a big waste of money to me.

DH is no longer working over-time on Sundays and I'm sure his paycheck is going to go down. Right now I'm waiting for my Fed. Tax refund to arrive so I can pay the money to my State taxes. Yep, I'll clear $6.00.

Hope everyone had a happy Easter

I worked a double shift at the restaurant, and wow, was I tired! But it was great exercise, not mention excellent cash. I didn't make it home until late today, so I'm going to weigh myself tomorrow...I'm PRAYING to break that 150mark!

Still cheating with the beer, so I really want to work on that.

My BFF told me my work pants look looser, yay!

I'm getting bored with my treadmill and mini workout routine, so this week, I'm going to search for old work-out tapes. Its SNOWING here, but hopefully soon, I'll be able to find a route to walk outside!

Robin: How'd you do today?

Lily: I agree, makes sense to hold off on boats right now. Unless a super deal comes along. Then, can't you wait to register it (just don't use it til June) instead of having to register it twice?

Punce: Hope you have a wonderful trip

BB: Hope the meds do what they're supposed to do!

Get: This snow IS unreal isn't it?! I hear you about it getting nice enough to walk outside! Have you tried low carb drinks instead of beer?

Well, didn't do the lowest of carbs today. But better choices. So tomorrow I'll work on being totally OP. Didn't have too bad of a headache, so that's a good thing. And TOM is leaving so that's even better! I've also almost got all my water in. So I think I did pretty good

Brenda, I talked to DH tonite and he agrees that we will wait til June to buy a boat. He is aware of all the extra expenses through the month of May. He went to Bass Pro Shop yesterday and came home telling me of all the nice boats. So, I was afraid that he wouldn't want to wait.

We have a bit of a dilemma. His 14 yr. old DD wants to move here from Las Vegas to live with us. We'd love to have her. But, since he has paid her mom child support for the past 10 yrs., Is it wrong for him to now expect her mom (his XW) to pay him child support if the DD is living with us? He doesn't really think the XW should pay support, but I do. (She's an RN). Plus, I explained to him that raising another teenager would be a big expense. I also explained that any support received could be put in a separate account to pay for all her needs. (The same as my DD's money goes in a separate account). I think that would be fair. Anything not used could be saved for college. Since my DD and his DD will both be 16 next summer, we'll also have to consider that both of them will start driving and need vehicles. Not something I even want to Consider yet.

Oh, I forgot about this. My son went to the Electric Cowboy (nightclub) Saturday night. TOBY KEITH was there partying with friends. I wish my son had called me, I'd love to see him out having a good time. (TK, that is).

Good morning everyone!
I love that this thread is so active...lots of support here

Had a good on plan day, i really didnt eat enough, but i lose my appetite when i take decongestants. After i got ready for work yesterday i looked in the mirror and under my right eye was red and swollen. looked like i had been in a fight. so i took the decongestant hoping it would help my allergys. It seems better this morning, i may have to see a doc if it isnt.

lillybelle - I think its very realistic to expect child support, an extra teenager is extra expenses. Glad hubby saw the light about the boat.

Ladya - making better choices is a good rule of thumb, it will get us a lot farther than beating our selves up for not being perfect..WTG!

Getupandgo - sounds like you had a good work out doing a double shift..you have a great attitude..good luck on the weigh in!

BB - arent grandchildren the greatest? my grandson is my first and he is 7 months old...sooooo sweet! We watched the Masters too, i dont know how they played in that weather!

Punce - sounds like your mom is being very supportive, hope your visit is a good one!

Hope all my girlies have a great day!!

Lily: Glad DH is being reasonable about the boat. Yup, definitely ask for child support if the DD is going to be living with you. NOW is the most expensive time (teen years) of her life and the ex should have an equal part of her expense! The separate accounts sound like an awesome idea!

Jae: Hope you're feeling better soon! And when we don't feel better, it's always best to get ourselves well and THEN worry about what we're eating (or not eating). So just worry about getting healthy first

Well, almost have 16 OZ of water drank already and I've only been up an hour. lol. To me that's a good thing Now to just work on lowering the carbs--and getting exercise in.

Jae and Brenda, thanks for the support. I think expecting the XW to pay support is reasonable. I know that his DD will be a big expense. As her and my DD are only 1 month apart in age. My DD costs a lot, that's for sure. I just spent a fortune on a prom dress for her and I know she'll only wear it one time. His DD and my DD get along very well and have been "sisters" since they were 4 yrs. old. They are looking forward to going to the same high school next fall. I feel sorry for his DD as she absolutely Hates living in Las Vegas with her mom and her mom's BF. She said she feels like "she is living in a stranger's house". The mom's BF makes fun of her wt. and tells her she'll "never have a boyfriend because she is too fat". He is just plain cruel. Gripes at her all the time about what she eats. Plus those parents spend all their time at the casino's and she is left home alone alot and doesn't have any English speaking friends out there. She is definitely a small-town country gal not a city gal. She will be much happier here with us.

I have been cutting back on my carbs and eliminating the bread. It seems to be helping some. I've also been getting back on the treadmill and getting in my exercise. I'm happy with this. Boy, it seems when I skip exercise for a while, it's really hard to get it back on track.

Hi Ladies

Sorry for being MIA today. Didn't sleep well last night, the Actonel's side effects already started. My muscles feel like that being ripped off my bones. No matter what position I tried I couldn't lie down. Very tired, going to bed right after supper.

Than our stupid VISTA computer crashed on us this morning. We spoke to a man at Staples and he thinks its micro-soft. It wouldn't let us into any our our favorites or even our home page. Well we fixed them,Leo dismantled Micro soft and went into Firefox[old reliable browser] and now the computer works again.

So tired not going to cook tonight.Hope I will find my ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ's.

Wow BB, sounds like you arent having much luck with your new pc. Dh had wanted to install the new Vista, and I wouldnt let him. Ive just heard too many stories about it. Since we rely on our pc for our livelyhood....I didnt want him messing with what we know works. Im not sure where you would go, but there are suppose to be patches you can download to fix any of the problems vista is causing.

Well Brenda, I didnt do so good.........havent been. I get going great guns, then fall flat on my face. Im still cleaning off the mud Im getting back to it....just rather slowly.

Brenda--do you ever think we'll see the sun again?? lol. I have tried lo-carb spritzers and hard liquor...but I just can't seem to replace my beer! I'm going to really work on this for this next work week. I only lost one pound for my second week of induction, and I think I can do much better than that. You are doing so good with your water intake!! I need to buckle down again with that too.

Lily-I can't believe your son ran into TK! I'm so jealous! Was he able to get a pic or an autograph? Good job about the exercize too! I feel the same way...the hardest part is just starting that one time!

Jae-thanks for the compliment Sorry to hear you weren't feeling the best. You know, I heard that this year is going to be a massive allergy season. I get them too, and I'm not looking forward to it

BB-good luck on getting a good nights rest, it sounds like you really need one! Aren't computer problems frusterating? I'm so addicted that if something goes wrong with mine, I'm literally swearing, lol.

Robin-its hard to relaps and then even harder to start up again..I feel your pain!! Have you thought about what is triggering your set-backs???

Well, today I weighed myself.....Only down one pound for the second week of induction. I think I'm going to go ahead and stay on this for 2 more weeks. I also think I'm going to try and wean out the fatty meats I've been eating, as well as the pork rinds..yum. I always do so well at home, but its when I leave for my week of shifts at work, I mess up. I think I'm going to bring some of my food with me this time. We shall see.
