Ahh...I got majorly confused with the blood sugar thing. I had no idea that there was such a thing as high insulin. I know ive had my thyroids checked, but they were normal, and the doctor said something about insulin then. At the moment my BS seems to be a bit low. My previous doctor had said something about PCOS, however, that was prior to getting pregnant, and being on birth control. Without BC I dont usually have TOM. Which is why I was initially put on it, and still remain on it. Now ive got a good hunch to see my doctor. I will give calorie counting a good observance, hopefully it works. But if not, this may be my problem. Thanks a bunch!!
One can never criticize the importance of education. However, I will say that I gained at least 60 pounds with my first pregnancy, had an almost 10 pound baby and was thisclose to GD myself.
Do you have other symptoms of diabetes, including:
Feeling thirsty.
Having to urinate more than usual.
Feeling more hungry than usual.
Losing weight without trying to.
Feeling very tired.
Feeling cranky.
Lots of infections and cuts and bruises that heal slowly.
Blurred vision.
Tingling or numbness in your hands or feet.
Lots of skin, gum, or bladder infections.
Vaginal yeast infections.
FTR, one really can't assume that a starting weight here is a starting weight, period. Additionally, one can't assume that any starting weight limits (or automatically expands) someone's knowledge of a particular subject.

Reason: Spaces after the period.
Well, it has only been a week. Give it some time, exercise well, adjust your calories. When you start calorie counting a big part of the process is learning how much your body needs for maintenance and for weight loss. Before you start getting tested for all sorts of things, it's probably best to at least give this a few weeks so you have time to learn how your diet affects your body and your weight. If you try this for a while and you feel like you have made a sincere effort based on good information, then consider other issues.
I think it may be a little premature to start diagnosing you with things based on just from the little we know about you at this point. If you do have preexisting health conditions, make sure you appropriately treated; also make sure you have had the recommended age-appropriate general medical care. Go ahead and see your doctor as planned, but otherwise, I'd give things a little time.
I dont seem to have the Diabetes symptoms, not many atleast. My son came out at 7.5lbs. However, I had pre-eclampsia and everything went out of whack and I actually lost 13 lbs, the only time in my life that Ive actually LOST any amount of weight...*sigh*
I am a carb addict to. I have a limit of calories I am supposed to make in a day, but I know if they were all consumed as highly processed sugars and starches I wouldn't lose a thing!
Make sure you eat your proteins, healthy fats, and veggies (I hate salads and raw vegtables to. To bitter!). Stay away from those lean cusines, they are loaded with salt and nasty things..which can cause you to retain water weight. Get rid of them and opt for something better quality.
If you stick with proteins and things that grow, you shouldn't have too much trouble with carbs.
To begin with, it's OK to just watch your calories. If after an honest try, that does not work, then it may be time to think about other health problems but if you have no symptoms and have lots of energy ... Why go looking for trouble.
Hey all..dont know who's been following this thread, but here's an update. I went to the doctors yesterday just to be sure. He made orders for a blood test including diabetes, and cholestrol levels. He also made it clear that PCOS is a very strong possibility given my past history. He started me on Metformin. Not sure what exactly it will do, but i'll have to educate myself on this along with some other things too. Thanks for all the responses. Ive been eating a lot of boiled veggies, especially cauliflower, which is my current addiction.lol. Thanks again.
