Arrow New to Fitday with a calorie range question

I wanted to try Fitday out since so many people have talked about it being so good. The question I have is regarding the calorie range they assign you. It seems quite high, and I don't know if I'm suppose to subtract anything from that amount, especially if I'm doing 30 minutes of cardio 6 days a week? I have been using another website to track my calories, and they had assigned me a much lower amount of calories. Could someone PLEASE help me here, because I really would like to try Fitday out. Thanks...

I use Fitday to track my foods, but I completely ignore the part where it thinks it knows how many calories you burn. A lot of people have to set their activity level to "sedentary" AND add the amount of time you spend sleeping each day in order to get a more accurate amount. Even then, for me, it seems a little high, but at least it's closer

One major problem is that the more you weigh, the less accurate many of these calculators become. Also, I read an article that pointed out that dieting greatly affects your metabolism--someone who weighs 200 pounds and has never weighed more than that will burn more calories than someone who has gone from 250 down to 200 pounds, so if both 200-pound people are using the same calculator, how can it possibly be accurate for both?

My best advise is to take the amount you get and try it out, and if you don't lose wieght on it, substract some until you get to the amount that you lose wieght on. I did that and now I know what I lose on and gain on...so its worth it

edit to say: its worth the time it takes to do that that way you really know your body and its needs.
