That is really like asking what is the best fruit or vegetable-because everyone has a different taste preference, you are going to get a zillion different answers.

What you want to look for is lower sugar, and whole grain/high fiber. Cereals like Special K are low calorie, but they are also low nutrition, and low fiber. You might want to try a few of these out:

~Bran Flakes
~Raisin Bran
~Shredded Wheat
~Kashi Go Lean Crunch
~Kashi Good Friends
~Kashi Cinna-Raisin Crunch
~Hi-Lo cereal (in health food section)
~OATMEAL!
~Frosted Mini Wheats (if you MUST have something with sugar in it)

I'm partial to Kashi Go-Lean crunch, personally. Actually, it's not my favourite: I don't like the taste much. I eat Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds, usually.

I like the Special K Low Carb cereal. Don't be fooled by it's name, as the name suggests it caters towards a low carb lifestyle. I'm not doing low carb and I like this cereal because it has a whopping 10g of protein per serving, which is great for a cereal.

I'm partial to Kashi Go Lean but as a dry snack. I can't eat it for breakfast, it doesn't fill me up for long.

Oatmeal is my breakfast cereal of choice. Full of whole grain goodness and fiber and you can dress it up with honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, raisins, whatever takes your fancy.

I really like Quaker Oat Squares and have half of that and half Kashi Go Lean Crunch. Yum.

- Quaker Breakfast Squares
- Kashi Go Lean Crunch
- Kashi Go Lean Cereal

I eat my Kashi dry, I don't like milk in my cereal. I also prefer to eat oatmeal dry - hence the breakfast squares.

I've been meaning to try some other cereals, just for variety, but am partial to the Kashi because of the nutrition factor. The Go Lean Crunch has 9g of protein and 8g of fiber and the Go Lean Cereal has 13g of protein and 10g of fiber. I haven't found many other cereals out there that can match that and also taste good.

When I have cereal I like either oatmeal or Kashi GoLean Crunch. I like the Kashi in yogurt instead of milk.

For a dry snack, I also like the Kashi GoLean Crunch. Don't think I'd like it with milk, though, since I rather enjoy having the cereal absorb a bit of the milk.

For a cereal with milk, I like (again) Kashi... the Autumn Wheat. It's sort of a Shredded Wheat. Very tasty!

Lots of Kashi fans here!

For hot cereal, I like oatmeal. I used to eat Wheatena and Cream of Wheat but haven't had them for a while and don't know what the values are on them.

I haven't checked Cheerios. Offhand, does anyone know if they're sound nutritionally? I always assumed they were.

I'm going to chime in with another Kashi go-lean crunch vote! I feel like it is sort of high-calorie for cereal (compared to Cheerios), but the fiber count is great, and it fills me up.

I also love oatmeal (regular, not instant) with a dash of cinnamon and practically whatever fruit i have handy.

The only cereals I can actually eat are Fruity Pebbles and Cocoa Pebbles since I have a gluten intolerance. I hear they are now going to make gluten-free Trix too. Guess I'm not a good person to respond to this one.

For me Raisin Bran is a delicious treat. Oatmeal is the 'good' cereal that I eat because it's healthy. I just dress it up with fruit and so on.

Not a big cereal girl but I do like whole grain total, cherrios, and organic mother's cocoa bumpers (the nutrition might not be great, but they are healthier then a chocolate bar!).

I love quaker oats lower sugar fruit and cream oatmeal

Some of the Kashi cereals may be higher calorie-BUT-they fill you up for longer because they contain a lot of protein, whereas a lot of cerals do not. A lot of cereals-if I eat cereal alone-have me starving 2 hours later because of that.

No, Fruity Pebbles and Trix are probably not the best choice...even if they are gluten free. Can you have oatmeal? That would probably be your best bet if you could.

I've found with cereal the best thing to do is read the labels and decide what evil you are willing to live with. They ALL have at least one.

I love Organic's Oat Bran Flakes. They're really tastey, high in fiber, and only 90 calories.
