Hi Aphil - no, I can't have oatmeal either. The cereal has to be 100% rice or corn and it can't have barley malt flavoring in it like a lot of the cereals do. I just normally don't eat it.

Bran Flakes!

Raisin Bran is a bit higher because of the raisins, but I eat that every now and then just for a little change.

For 1 cup of Bran flakes it is around 110 calories, it's the lowest and healthiest cereal I've found.

I switch between Kashi Go Lean, any of the Totals, and Multi-Grain Cheerios. It really depends on what I feel like that week and what is on sale.

Hmmm - I don't have the box in front of me so I can't check for barley malt flavoring...but you might want to check out Quaker Corn Bran. It's quite yummy, low in sugar, and higher in fiber than most cold cereals!

My "normal" breakfast is Honey Nut Cheerios, skim milk and a banana. Sometimes I have oatmeal. I also have Kashi Good Friends cereal in the cabinet. It seems like I fall into a rut and have the same breakfast for a long time. I don't mind this because I don't really like to have to "think" for breakfast. LOL

My favorite cereals are Kashi go Lean and Kashi's Good Friends. I like both of them mixed with a 1/2 cup lowfat yogurt.

Most of the time, i eat Total or Special K...i like Kashi GoLean...but i stay away from it because of the extra calories. I have never really got "fuller" for "longer" therefore i buy the least expensive.

hockeyfan7, do you have a health food store in your area? most of them have lots of gluten-free foods. i'm sure you could find a boxed cereal to fit your needs.

I'm sure I've said this before (and flipafart said it again) steel cut oats!
I put it in the crockpot before bed. And any old time now I'm going to blend 1/2 cup with 3 egg whites and nuke if for my breakfast.
Another awesome tip I got from the Ladies who Lift.

I have been thinking about different cereals tho'. I have a friend who cannot have gluten. I don't see why that egg white thing couldn't be done with any hot cereal. I do have cream of brown rice that I should try.
