You do. We all do, supposedly. Sadly, I'm willing to bet most of us don't get 8 hours. I know I don't. But wasn't there some research published just recently (like within the past month) stating that some hormone that regulates weight loss is only released after somewhere in the neighborhood of 7 1/2 hours?

Wouldn't that be great? Sleep more, weigh less... sleep away the pounds. Sounds like a "dream diet!"

Seriously, I'll see if I can find a link for that study.

8 hours is a luxury I wish I could get. I get it on weekends, but not weekdays.

Lena - There is some research that says more sleep helps the weight loss efforts! I think I saw it on WebMD. But, if I recall correctly, the take on this research was that being well-rested helped a person stay focused and crave fewer carbs - - or something like that.

I really find that I feel really good with 7 1/2 to 8 hours of sleep. And, since I've been eating so much better the last few months, I feel really good and not as exhausted.

It is hard to get everything done in one 24 hour day - that's for sure! I don't know what I'm going to do if/when I have another monkey. AJ is almost two and we have such a good routine right now. I easily get the sleep I need. And, I really try and focus on playing with him a lot as "exercise." What else can you do?

Have a great day!

I do cardio 6 days a week (45-90 min), weights 2 days, upper body and squats only. I move everyday, although activity is not the same as exercise. I double up cardio 2 days with a morning and evening workout.

I do 1 hour of kickboxing class twice a week, and yoga once a week. I was trying to walk twice a day for 30 minutes each time, but the weather made that difficult. I plan to pick it up again as the weather gets better. Also, I'd like to try to start swimming a couple of days a week. We'll see.

AJsMa, I too feel like I don't have enough time for all that. I'm just going with the 'do what you can, when you can' approach for now.
