Default Weighed in!

I got weighed in from my doctors office today and in 4 months Ive lost a total of 34 lbs. He told me that I didnt need to lose anymore weight, but I dont think hes looking at my height right and considering myself as a female. Im still considered "overweight". He suggested I stay up at 1500-1800 cals a day. However, Im happy and content with my intake right now at 1200-1300 daily. He was concerned with how much Im burning though. Not sure if it is ok? From fitday its saying Im burning roughly 1000 cals daily.
I weighed in at 149 lbs minus - 5 pounds for clothing (the nurse told me a normal persons clothing will weigh that much).
Though I was proud to suprise my doctor lol. He said "wow! your thin!"

Silly (maybe even stupid) question here but is that 1000 cals burned above your BMR?

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, BMR is just the basic. I'm really not meaning to be intrusive. I'm just trying to understand how all this works (calories in/calories out) and how to best apply it to life....mine specifically, lol.

Jewelz ... the only thing I can think of is that your Doc might be alarmed at your rate of weightloss. I'm pretty sure that doctors do not take classes in "The many and varied shapes and sizes of women, their exertion rates and how they diet 101" Some learn a lot as they practice but they're pretty into the RDA 2000 cals and two pounds a week, antique life insurance charts etc.
You have a fitday account? What's your basal rate?

1dayatatime~ what I personally do is try to keep my activity level just a tad below my intake.. That away the end of that week Im totally below 3500 calories. If I take in 1300 cals I burn off 1000. Which left me 300 for that day. Though not all days are like that.

Susan, I have fit day. My basal flucuates. Between 1414-1445
Anyways, like you sometimes I really have a hard time getting to 1300. Though there are days of that week I will balance back out.
I really doubt hes educated enough. Hubby said he might of said that because he is 5'3" and weighs 149lbs
Here is what is shows on one of my heavy cleaning/exercising/calistenics,/walking ect:
Calories Burned Today
source cals % total
Total: 3581
Basal: 1445 40%
Lifestyle: 904 25%
Activities: 1232 34%

Your basal is what it takes for your body to live, pump blood, breath, regenerate, heal etc.
If you are using 3581 cals per day and taking in less than 1300 ... you have a 2281 cal deficit everyday.
From what is your body drawing for basic minimum body functioning?
Did that make sense?
Jewlez, honey, forgive me but .... if fitday is giving an accurate reflection of what is really going on in your life. I'm a little worried too.

No, I think the 1300 calories is OK. I'm more worried about all your activity. You make me tired just reading. ya know what tho' ... we've talked about that before haven't we? how many hours a day you exercise?
I'm wondering about lifestyle ... the 904. I'm pretty sure that's meant to include regular stuff like cleaning, kid care, food prep ... so if you're already including that in lifestyle ... you can't really add it in again as an activity.
I also see that you said this was an extraordinary day.

Thanks for indulging me Jewelz. I know I fuss and stew ... just like having a spare mother, isn't it?

lol you had me all worried there for a moment. Blonde moment! My activity Im walking 2 hours a day now. Ive been pushing about 20 minutes more. I do pilates for 30-40 minutes 4-5x's a day (which is becoming alittle easy) I need to add more. I do calestinics 3-4 times depending.. for about 20-30 minutes each a week. Ive been using my 10lbs dumbells , I also jump rope 15 minutes (I try to add this one in at least 6x's a week) Im so obsessed I cant stand myself. I constantly got to do something. Ive noticed a huge incline in my metabolism.
Oh no I dont think I re-add it I just put in if Ive done mad house cleaning for so many hours.. Or washed our 4 vehicles and waxed them down. Or wash the walls down. Stuff you dont do every day but I try to split it up each day. I just try to stay really busy is all.

OK ... I'll relax if you tell me you've always been a busy girl.

I am a little concerned about this line ....."I'm so obsessed I can't stand myself." I'm hoping you're just a bubbly personality.

Thanks again for indulging me. You could have easily told me to take my nosey nose and take a leap.

Im just a happy go lucky person! Well today Im alittle washed out with a bug, but other then that Im still happy.

Oh no, susan. I dont think your one bit nosey at all. You've stuck out there with my odd questions and listened to me (just shows you care) so why not?
