Years ago I did this as a student. I once ate every second day as well and the weight fell off me. It can be great.
If I eat a huge meal I can still go for up to eight hours without eating.
Now that I have to eat even less calories though I can't do this. I go over my quota. I find splitting meals and eating little bits now and then is much better to help me to eat less calories. But I'm older now and have to eat less. So while you're still young enough enjoy it!
