Smile Getting moving and moving on!

Hi

I found this site tonight and have been trying to get on some type of program for awhile now. To be honest for awhile I just gave up completely. I went through a deep depression and a bad divorce years ago and even though I have been with my husband now for 11 years and very happy I guess the self esteem issues that made me emotionally eat in the first place still linger.

I have gained and lost weight so many times over the past decade I can't even tell you of all the stops and starts. I have tried it all and feel like calorie counting is the best option for me and for my family so here I am.

I am going to start my calorie counting tomorrow. I logged onto fitnesspal after reading about it here and it clocked me at around 1775 calories a day to start.

I guessed at my weight but I will weigh tomorrow to be sure and adjust it if necessary. At that time I will put up a ticker thingie and maybe try to set some mini goals. There will be a lot of them considering I know for sure I need to lose 100+ pounds.

Just looking for support and to maybe make a friend or two here. I need to save my life so I can be here for my kids and my husband.

Thanks,
VaKimi

Hi VaKimi!
I am re-starting here too....I love this website it has helped me in the past, and so I am back! I have decided on calorie counting because it is the easiest for me. I am on fitness pal too, and have about the same calories as you to eat/day. I also plan to participate in the "chicks up for a challenge" board to get my butt moving more.

I am going to turn 40 next year, and I don't want to get stuck with all this weight I have right now. I will not make excuses for my current weight other than to say I started eating more, and moving less.....and here I am.
My goal is to get started this week, drink more water, and stay on or just below my calories this week.

Today is also my first day on this site, and I am still figuring out how to use it. It's helpful to hear about other people struggling with the same obstacles, and also to hear from people who have made so much amazing progress.

I hope we will both be telling people of our progress months from now.

I've been changing my eating and activity over the past week, and I feel impatient to see results, but I know from experience that it doesn't pay to expect to much and get disappointed and discouraged early on.

Here's wishing both of us a healthy day.

Default hey

Thank you ladies for responding, it is nice not to feel alone in all of this! UpNorthSue I agree I hope to be a big loser with you and months from now be an inspiration!!

Lewisempire I am happy to hear that this board has helped you in the past also hopefully we can all stick together and see those pants sizes drop for the last time!

Such nice words and wishes from everyone, makes me feel so positive so thank you!!

Just an update, we went to the local pharmacy and I weighed at their machine, I honestly don't own a scale or any mirrors that show below the waist in my house lol so I needed to go out to do it.

Anyway it won't let me add a ticker yet so I will just update as I know on my posts until I can.

I weighed 322 lbs
