June Don't Bug Me! Challenge!

OK folks, it's June 1st and we needed a new challenge thread so here it is! For most of us, June is a month of great weather and outdoor activities so let's get movin' and shakin'!

My June Goal
Start 213
End 203

Domlacha 06-01-2012 10:03 AM

I want to get moving and shaking too! I would like to drop 6 lbs this month. This morning I weighted 154.6

June Goal
Start 154.6
End 148.6

4star 06-01-2012 10:09 AM

I'm in. I don't know how much I actually weigh right now but will adjust my ticker soon. I am thinking I want to be around 10 pounds down so 185 or below....

gracesmomma 06-01-2012 10:19 AM

I'm in again!! I have a rather large goal, I am 256.2 this morning and I would like to be down to 240. I really think I can do it!

Let get 'er done! :)

gracesmomma,
I'm not only from NC but also from Western NC, like you. I still see caps and shirts with that "Get 'er done" on 'em, don't you? :D

Dreamer2012 06-01-2012 12:51 PM

Most of us, yes. Not myself! You have clearly never been to Ireland  We had two weeks of sunshine and now rain/dull/wet days and that's the forecast for the next couple of days too. HOWEVER, I will not allow that to get me down. And I'm going to be heading out for my walk in about an hour or so. :D I'm aiming to lose 10lbs, but even if I get 5lbs I will be happy!
Start weight: 142lbs
Goal weight: 132lbs

Only Me 06-01-2012 01:46 PM

I need a challenge. Last month was a slow month for me. I really, really want to get to the top of my goal range by the end of the month. That's 7lbs.

Fitness-wise, I want to run at least 3x per week and work back up to a 10km+ long run.

toobig 06-01-2012 01:46 PM

I am in! This morning I was 170 and by the end of June I will be 166 or less. My goal weight is getting soooo close!!

Erin27 06-01-2012 09:11 PM

I'm in! This is my first time over in this part of the boards (i had been lurking in the WW area but decided to stop points and start calorie counting instead)...
CW: 254.4
Goal: 244
Exercise goal: finish the first month of "phase 1" of my exercise plan and start "phase 2".
Good luck ladies!

Dreamer--where in Ireland are you? I lived in Limerick for a year and loved it....I miss the area and the people a lot!

katiejean79 06-01-2012 09:16 PM

I'm in! I would like to be at 145 by the end of the month! Fingers crossed :)

sznn 06-02-2012 12:30 AM

Count me in - would be happy with 5lbs gone by June 30th!

Northernrose 06-02-2012 05:35 AM

Definitely count me in, though I'll have to wait until weigh-in tomorrow morning to enter my stats!

CW: 233.6
GW: 225.6 (-8 lbs)

Exercise goal: To cycle five days a week (every week-day), and to shave three minutes off my best time for that route (from 48 mins to 45 mins).

gracesmomma 06-02-2012 11:43 AM

Omg..... Yesterday was my birthday, so you can imagine what that did to my diet... Back at it this morning! I guess one day of celebration every few months is ok. The scale says I've gained 5.8 pounds, but I KNOW that's to accurate...too much salt in the pizza.

I'm starting to wonder if my goal of 240 is a little too ambitious? Ill try my best though!

EatMoreCelery, yes I still see that stuff everywhere! Especially on cars and jacked up trucks lol

Iyakamae 06-02-2012 01:50 PM

I plan to be realistic this month and go for a 5lb loss.

So;
CW 235.6
GW 230

Good luck everyone! I know we can all reach our milestones!

stimkovs 06-02-2012 06:21 PM

hey chickies! im baaaaaaaack.

so last month has been a little bit rough, i am dealing with a back slide, and maintenance in that backslide- but a whole whack of new muscles.

i have also been having a little itsy bitsty teeeny tiny binging issue, which i am hoping is under control- ish.

the challenge that i am setting out to myself is to remain under 1700 calories. per day. whether this will cause a slight, major, or minor loss- i am still unsure, but i would much rather maintain then backslide!

envelope 06-02-2012 11:50 PM

I am happy June is here!

By the end of the month I will be jogging on a regular basis.

I would like to be down 10 lbs.

girlsenberry 06-03-2012 12:22 AM

Hi, all. I'm new to the cal counting part of 3FC, was previously at WW. Fell off the fitness/eating right wagon a few months ago, after some issues with my knees. I'm back, and rarin' to go, and making my June goal a *hopefully* easy 5 lbs.. to incorporate lots of seasonal veggies and fruit back into my diet, after a very blah winter.. and to continue exercising 5-6 days/week. :)

toobig 06-03-2012 07:50 AM

168- This morning on the scale. I am thrilled. And fitbit is replacing my tracker so maybe when it gets here I can finally get me moving more. I don't know what my hang up is about exercise.

ETA I am changing my ticker down again!:carrot:

EatMoreCelery 06-03-2012 08:50 AM

Oooh! so many dedicated folks have joined this challenge!! :broc:

We can do this! All it takes is persistence!
"If you have a dream, go for it. No one is stopping you, except yourself!"

Tinky009 06-03-2012 04:16 PM

Hello! An oldie here, but restarted on May 22nd...so far I have been 7 lbs down!! Hope you don't mind me joining the challenge...this is exactly what I need! I would like to be 10 lbs lighter by the end of June!

stimkovs 06-03-2012 04:56 PM

i'm over 1700 today, but i think that i am going to change my goal a little bit.

i would like to TRACK no matter what happens. binge, no binge. even if i eat out, i would like to track and "guestimate" every bite lick of taste.

i would also like to find my loosing/not binging sweet spot!

envelope 06-03-2012 05:54 PM

Stimkovs - my sweet spot in the past has been anywhere between 1500-1800 cals a day. Now I just need to learn to stay within that range even while life is stressful or I am super busy...

stimkovs 06-03-2012 06:02 PM

hey envelope, we're the same height! do you kind of know what your BMR is at?

mine is apparently close to 2000 (like 1940's) or so since i am very active, but i am not sure whether i should eat that high/ afraid to try it - although today will be a higher day as i'm still STARVING for some reason.

toobig 06-04-2012 06:58 AM

stimkovs- Glad to "see" you around!

Hope everyone has a great day

TheWildcat 06-04-2012 07:39 AM

June, you better watch out!

Gotta lose 10 lbs by the end of June so that I'll have July and August to enjoy the results :D At this point, I've been on and off the website for a few years, but last year (finally!) my weight started stabilizing around high 130's. My ultimate dream goal is to get down to high 120's. That would be more than enough... So in June, I am embarking on a tough weight loss and exercise journey to do exactly that! :carrot: No binging, regular exercise, and a healthy attitude! ;) Good luck, everyone!

4star 06-04-2012 08:43 AM

Hi all. I am so happy to see everyone joining the challenge! We are gonna kick butt in June!

Just a quick check-in....I've been on plan for 4 days now and managing to get in my cardio. :ebike: I am moving my ticker this morning to reflect the 2 pounds I gained during the last challenge, so I have a solid 10 pounds to work on in June. There's a chance more water weight will fall off but I need to just own that gain and move on. :kickcan: This summer is just ramping up and I want to feel good and look good when I go on vacation! :beach:

EatMoreCelery 06-04-2012 09:44 AM

Weighed in at 212 this morning so 9 pounds to go!!

Love seeing so many ready to, as 4star put it, kick butt in June! :exercise: :D

I saw a motivational poster this morning that spoke to me... a simple one we can all relate to:
"If you're tired of starting over, stop giving up!"

Bravo to those who have come back to handle a little regain before it got out of hand and meant starting over! :)

ElizabethG 06-04-2012 02:11 PM

I would like to join. I'm back again. I yo-yoed out of here awhile ago.

Tried to come back but with fertility treatments it was so stressful I didnt stick with it and now I'm up alot of weight! I had several IUIs and one IVF. My IVF was successful in that I got pregnant but it was ectopic so I'm in the midst of 'losing' it. :( I am hoping my wieght is abnormally high because of that. So my goal will be to lose 10 lbs this month putting me at 215. I haven't weighed myself in a week though so it may be higher or lower than 225.

envelope 06-04-2012 06:40 PM

Hi everyone! Hope you all are having a great day.

Stimkovs - I am not sure what my BMR is. Using the calculator at free dieting it is estimated that my BMR is 1610.

Bridgettedavis 06-04-2012 09:27 PM

Count me in!!! My goal for 4th of July is to weigh 175 (so 11ish lbs by then) So I'm going to say for the month of June it'll be to weigh 176 ;) So 10lbs for the month of June!!

Weigh in this AM- 186.4
Should have a good day tomorrow, I'm trying to zigzag calories this week and today was a small day!

stimkovs 06-04-2012 10:38 PM

toobig thanks! missed you guys, glad to see you're doing well!!

envelope are you taking your exercise into consideration? i do pretty intense cardio based stuff, 5 -6 or 7 times a week, sometimes twice, im calculating maintenance calories between 2300-2500. i am trying to eat 1700. in theory, i see the issue. in practice, i am a little afraid to apply it.

on my end- nothing to report. eating still terrible, working out still fantastic.
might need another calorie increase?

i am also toying with the idea of using fat burners/ protein shakes, and changing my diet to more protein/more fats (coconut oil+nuts as my body has been craving) and cutting out carbs. since i don't eat complex carbs at all (maybe once a week) i will have to cut out some fruit and see if that's causing the issue. i currently eat 3-4 servings of fruit a day minimum (it is my absolute favourite) so might have to decrease. i will also try to sub my morning fruit/oatmeal for egg whites, and do fruit oatmeal instead of something else or eliminate it.

envelope 06-05-2012 06:41 AM

Good morning everyone, I am feeling great and am ready for a wonderful day!

I am currently getting some walking in but not too much else as far as exercise goes. I have recovered from a back injury and am ready to start to jogging again this weekend. Last fall during the last few weeks of training for a 1/2 marathon, I had to increase my cal intake range up to 1900-2400.

When I was stating my sweet spot, it was the sweet spot that I found I could eat within with out feeling hungry or deprived and still lose weight Your sweet spot may be higher because of the intensity of your work outs. I like a range, because on days I am not as hungry, I eat at the lower end of the range and days I am really hungry, I eat at the higher end of the range.

tammay 06-05-2012 08:43 AM

Count me in too (though a little late, I know). I'm back on plan today after intervals of eating healthy and binge eating. I've had a lot of stress in the last several weeks with starting a new job, looking for an apartment, and planning a trip back to the States for August. But I really want to lose some weight (at least a dress size) by the time I go to the States in August.

I'm not sure how much I weigh right now so I'll be checking that and recording it within the next few days. I'll be back on my early morning walks tomorrow. It's a good way to get my butt out of bed early anyway, since I have so much work to do that I have to get up early.

Tam

Wowsa! Those numbers just keep falling. You're almost to goal! :carrot:

It's nice to see some of our regular challengers jumping back in and see some new challengers too. :)

I am hanging in there. Been solidly back on plan and thankfully, able to exercise again. I had a great ride yesterday! In 45 minutes, I rode over 15 miles and burned over 500 calories. :carrot:

Oh - do you cycle too?! I love cycling. 15 miles in 45 mins?! Wow!!!! I am currently at 8 miles in 47 mins :D

Having a bad start to the week. Overate on Sunday & now having to cut calories all week to get back to acceptable average, which is not fun. AND I started off on my daily bicycle ride today and my friggin' pedal fell off (I like to think from so much recent use :D)!!!! Off to the repair shop tomorrow but I am worried they are going to leave me bicycle-less for a few days.

toobig 06-06-2012 06:31 AM

4 star- Thanks for the encouragement! I REALLY want to post before and after pictures in the goal forum. But after I do I may move my goal down a little.

Hope everyone has a great day!

I ride my recumbent stationary bike when I don't walk but am biking more lately. I go off the numbers on the display so there may be some difference in road miles but I have worked myself up over years. I am quite surprised. When I started, I rode at about 12-15 mph and couldn't ride long on increased resistance but now after the first mile I ride at between 20-22 mph on resistance 3. I am surprised that I have worked up to that level.

I do want to get a road bike and possibly do a race at some point. That's more of a hobby I am looking to develop when I get the money but definitely a fitness goal since I have problems running. My dh and I were just talking about road distance vs. stationary distance and if they are equivalent.
