Thank you! It is nice to be back. A few days on the road with snack foods and restaurant foods didn't hit the spot but sure did hit the hips! :p I will be lucky to bust my butt not to see a gain this go around and not have to move my ticker up! I am still hoping getting back to routine will help shed the water weight but several days of restaurant foods might have added poundage as well. Time will tell. I am not going to get down about it, just a minor setback.

I am doing really well at my fitness challenge even though my diet was upset by travel. I did 60 modified pushups last workout so my strength is definitely improving! :carrot:

Hi everyone... weight this morning is 195...still up but that's ok...I am sooo sore from the strength training I've been working on. I can definitely see a difference when I look in the mirror, especially in my back muscles. I am pretty happy about that so I will accept that the scale's upward bounce, it should be only temporary.

I'd love to hear how all of our other challengers are doing and how you all plan to spend this last week of the challenge. Let's end this challenge on a high note! :)

Hi all. Hope the challenge is going well for you.

After dancing around at 140-141lbs for about a week, I had a big whoosh yesterday and suddenly I was at 137. I was still there this morning, so I'm guessing some tom water weight came off, finally showing the real weight loss for the week. Since my May 1 goal was 140lbs, I guess I've made it! Yay! One more lb and I'll no longer be overweight by bmi.

Hey everyone!
So I’m still trying to figure out how many calories to consume with my new increased activity. On work days, I honestly feel like I could eat the entire contents of the fridge, so I think I still have some adjustments to make ;). I’m trying not to weigh myself, cause I’m sure my weight will be up. But I’ll get back on the scale to see where I end the challenge. I can pretty much guarantee it won’t be in the 140s though. Oh well, that’s life, right?

4star: I’m glad you’re back! And congrats on your fitness challenge - you’re doing great!
Toobig: Congrats on the loss!!
Only Me: Congrats on the whoosh! :D

176 this morning. Hope I get a whoosh soon.

4star 04-26-2012 09:29 AM

toobig- I hope you get your whoosh soon. I bet you will! :)

4star 04-26-2012 09:38 AM

Well. darn it. I threw out my back and got TOM...wonder what a disgruntled faced TOM smilie would look like? Anywho....still hanging about 2-3 lbs over ticker and probably won't see a drastic drop until TOM is almost over...maybe by May Day if not, I'll just keep on keepin on... :kickcan:

toobig 04-26-2012 01:14 PM

4star- Yikes!! Hope your back is better soon! And TOM is a real drag! Keep on keeping on girl

Thanks. I seem to be facing a lot of injuries this challenge. Injury often derails people's plans so I am thinking I should view this a test of my perseverance. It is really stressing me out to be off my exercise plan. My fitbit also wants my calories really low when I am not getting enough activity so that tends to be a stressor too. I will get past this hurdle though, no worries.

Now. I am still really happy with my progress over the last few challenges. Before the Valentine's Day challenge I was around 210 so I've still managed to drop and keep off 15ish pounds since then, injuries and all. No, I haven't flown through the pounds this challenge but I did not gain and I did tone up. My goal was very modest and I won't really know how close I came til next week but I am so happy with the progress I've made. I really can't thank everyone enough for doing these challenges and being so supportive!

Sometimes I feel like the slowest weight loser on the planet. Its hard to keep up the fight when I can't even get a pound a week off. And I know I eat right and move around. Yuk! I guess its "poor me" kind of morning :(

Plus a new gym has opened up in our town and everyone I know is joining and wanting me to join up with them. I don't have time. And I would work on making time if I thought anyone of them would stick with it.

ETA After three years of calorie counting and not begging people to eat better you would think they would lay off on preaching about the gym!

Yeah. I think you will find that bandwagon will lose many riders soon. Many people get excited about the next new thing and jump on board but soon they lose interest. I think that's why people don't like to stay on an eating plan, it's not always exciting, thus the entertainment factor is gone...Wait til you have more time and if anyone is still hitting the gym, you'll know you found a workout buddy that will stick!

4star - I know you are 100% right. It just hurts that people 100 pounds heavier than I am are trying to make me feel like a slug when I went way out of my way to not rub my weight loss in anyones face. People are so weird. Me too I guess. Because I swear I whine for two weeks, lose a pound, whine for two weeks lose a pound... rinse and repeat. ;)

I think it's just people seeing your loss and newly becoming interested in their physical fitness, trying to relate. It's kinda of feels like a newbie(often gung-ho but also easily disheartened) trying to tell a old pro how to do things. I just try to remember that this is a new and exciting stage for them although it's become more of a routine lifestyle for those of us who've been doing this for a while.

Surprise, surprise for me! After the being off plan traveling, injuries, doing new strength training exercises, I weighed in at 192.0 this morning! I don't even know how that happened. I'll take it as that might be the only loss I see this whole challenge...Oddly enough, I am ok with it. I have about 23 pounds left to get to the healthy weight range so I know that things are going to slow down. What I am trying to focus on instead of loss is being a fat burning machine and boosting my metabolism through fitness to be that well-oiled machine I'd like to be. Seeing the scale go down can be a great motivator but recently my slimming and toning have started become just as motivating. When the scale starts playing games, I just try to focus on all the improvements I've made....

Way to go on the weight loss! It does seem to get harder and harder on the way down.
