Well, I noticed that I needed some combo of carbs, protein and fat to feel satisfied. So, for example, a turkey & cheese sandwich on wheat bread w/ a bit of mayo satisfies me.

I've found, though, that lately, I'm hungrier at 2100 calories (my current maintenance calories) than I was at 1400. What gives? I don't know. But I'm going to experiment w/ adding more protein to my meals to try to deal with that hunger. I'm trying to be flexible and try new things rather than sticking religiously to whatever has worked for me thus far (i.e., if something stops working for me, I'm open to trying something else).

I have observed less hunger with higher amounts of protein in my diet. Carbs for some people (like myself who are genetically prone to diabetes) can spike blood sugars which causes a sharp drop in return, causing more hunger. Controlling my insulin response really helps me lose weight, control hunger and cravings.
