jigglefree 11-01-2011 09:25 AM

My goal for this challenge is to keep up with my P90X workouts and loose 10 pounds.

NorthernExposure 11-01-2011 10:58 AM

I'm so ready for this challenge!

My weight goal is to get to my original Halloween goal of 174 (100 total lbs lost.) I'm not sure exactly where I'm starting as I haven't weighed in since last Thursday (when I was UP 2 lbs but refused to move my ticker because it was my birthday, lol), but I will WI this Friday and see where I'm at. Optimistic goal: if I get to my 174 goal early, my next goal is to get as close to the 160's as I can so I can stay motivated through the tempting holiday season :)

My calorie goal is to accurately log and stay in my calorie budget 90% of the time (this allows for a couple days during the challenge for a *little* sloppy counting/eating out/whatever...but I need to stay more focued on this than I did toward the end of the Halloween challenge.)

My exercise goal is to work out at least 5 days per week. Now that it will be getting dark after work, I will need to find something to replace my evening walks.

P H A T 11-01-2011 11:32 AM

Yay! I love new challenges! Thanksgiving is a good challenge to have because if I meet my goal, it will give me a reason to pig out! LOL.. :p anyway, The Halloween challenge was kinda wish washy for me, & I ended up gaining 2 lbs back from what I lost, but the upside to it is because it was my TOM so hopefully I can lose the water weight!

My goals for this month:
-lose 5-6lbs
-300oz water a week
-no elevator at work! lol.. sounds silly but climbing up 5 flights of stairs 4 times a day is a workout all in itsself!

Good Luck with this one everyone!

No kidding! Lucky! I wish I worked at a place that had flights of stairs. I'd take advantage of that! I usually sit on my rump all day, occasionally getting up. Thankfully I have to drive to the post office twice a day, so I get a little stair workout :p

Goals for this month:
1) Lose 7-10 lbs. - I lost 5 lbs. last month starting on the 10th, surely I can lose at least 7 lbs, especially if I really start working out!
2) Workout every day, whether it be 10 minutes during my lunch break, or an hour after work.

Nikeolie 11-01-2011 12:19 PM

My goal is to lose 15 lbs!!! I am pretty sure I can do it as I lost 20 last month and I ate out like four to five times a week. :/ It was super yummy but I had to even it out by working out longer and longer.

My non weight goal is to eat out a max of three times a week including lunches but preferably only twice a week as I really need to lose weight before I meet my boyfriends family. I am so afraid they are going to be disgusted by me and wonder why my boyfriend couldn't find someone better......

Nibbles 11-01-2011 12:27 PM

I'm hoping to lose 7 pounds by Thanksgiving. I already know I'll be enjoying myself Thanksgiving day ;) , so after the festivities are over I should have a loss of at least 5 pounds. Let's do it guys!

farn00a57 11-01-2011 12:39 PM

Hey ladies!!!!!

My goal is to lose 15 pounds and stay away from the weekend cheating episodes I have been doing lately. Exercise 6 days out of the week as well.

I didn't weigh myself today, so I will be back with my starting numbers tomorrow. Excited for a new challenge!!!!!!

fyreflie24 11-01-2011 12:42 PM

6-8 lbs, 12-1600 calories (cycling), exercise at least 5-6 a week, get through Thanksgiving without a gain!

tdiprincess 11-01-2011 12:57 PM

So I've been thinking about this challenge quite a bit to figure out what goals I want to try for.
My weight goal is: 149! That's well 5 lbs according to the ticker, but I think I'm a little more than that right now, haven't weighed myself. So probably more like 6 or 7lbs. Probably 6. Anyway...

My exercise goal is: to keep doing c25k 3 days a week. I also want to walk 20miles a week for a total of, 60miles since this really is only 3 weeks long!

For calories I would like to keep it between 14-1600 during the week. On the weekends I want to just focus on actually counting my calories and trying to cap it at 2000 for a maximum intake. Weekends have been slowing me down, which isn't such a horrible thing. I still want to enjoy a little wiggle room for the weekend.

NS goals: I guess the exercise and calorie goals count. I also want to take my measurements this week or next since I haven't done that in a while.

SparkleBE 11-01-2011 01:14 PM

I’m so pumped to start a new challenge!

My Goals:
Lose 5 pounds (from 165 to 160)
Walk for at least an hour 6 days a week
Since there is so much leftover Halloween candy in my house right now, have max. 1 candy a day

NS Goal:
Last weekend, I bought an adorable dress on sale that was slightly too tight. It buttons from the waist up and I can button it, but I’m afraid that I’ll pop a button if I inhale deeply. My realistic goal is to fit into the dress by Christmas, but my hopeful one is to get there by the end of this challenge :)

jdonato 11-01-2011 01:52 PM

Oh I would like to join please! It's been way too long since I've been on here.

1. I would like to be down to 135 by Thanksgiving.
2. Stick to calorie counting between 1200-1500 calories
3. Stick to exercising

StoneFree 11-01-2011 02:47 PM

Hey everyone!

Goals:

- 129 by Thanksgiving, 1200 in cals and slow-carb style diet.
- 6am spinning classes 3x a week before work
- BEAT my sugar addiction!
- 8 glasses of water a day.

ScottieMama 11-01-2011 03:10 PM

My goal: 5 lbs. Might be pushing it as it's my birthday this weekend and I'm sure to be eating out every meal. I've done great though the past 5 months w/eating out reasonably.

My non-weight goal: Keep up the 2 1/2 + hours a day of exercise. Terriers love cold weather, so no reason not to get long daily walks in.

KatTheAmazon 11-01-2011 04:27 PM

A mini-goal that I have set for myself is to be 200 by the end of November. With very little weight loss in October (went through a funk), I have a big task ahead for this month!

My goals for this month:

1) 200 pounds (or close to it!!) by Nov.30.
2) Be more consistent in my exercise.
3) Stay between 1200-1700 calories. Do not exceed 2000 calories.
4) Drink less wine! That was my Achilles heel last month.

NorthernExposure 11-01-2011 07:44 PM

Looks like some great goals! Hello to all the CC challenge "regulars" and a big welcome to the newbies!

I'm off to a good start this week--
Yesterday: 1050 calories, 20 minute walk (wasn't feeling too well...usually don't eat that low!)
Today: 1450 calories, 30 minute walk/jog

Good luck to everyone!

Unna 11-02-2011 03:50 AM

I love reading everyone's goals!

At the rate I am losing, I'm going to shoot for:

1. 155 by Thanksgiving.

I've been stepping up my jogging the past two weeks:

2. from 4 miles (45min) to 5.5 miles (60 min.). I would like to do this 4 - 5 x's a week.

3. Drink more water.

4. Get more sleep.

5. Eat a salad with every dinner.

6. In general, cut down on portion sizes.

7. Be more accurate with CC.

jigglefree 11-02-2011 07:30 AM

Welcome to all the newcomers, Hello to the regulars and welcome back to the ones that we haven't seen in a while.

So far so good. I'm eating lots of fruit and veggies. I do need to increase my water intake. This is day 3 of our Church Fast so I will not be counting the losses as I don't eat like this normally. The fast ends Sunday after church. I will eat and get back to my P90X workouts. I miss them...if you start it's addicting. If you push play you will be compelled to do the workout. So it will be my plan to make sure I push play everyday except Saturday which is rest day for me.

slim n up 11-02-2011 08:12 AM

Well, I really, really need this challenge to get back on track. I'm not sure what happened well, yeah I do but..... here we go again. I am going to be realistic about this as Thanksgiving is only 3 weeks away so.

Goal 1:) Loose 5 more pounds, and be down to 175.

Goal 2:) Do walking videos at least 3 times per week.

Wilma

farn00a57 11-02-2011 01:44 PM

Hello everyone!!! I'm ready for a new challenge!! Didn't do so well on the Halloween one, but I got my butt back in gear, so I can't complain. I initially said I wanted to lose 15 pounds on the Thanksgiving challenge, but I'm going to shoot for 20. I know it seems like a lot, but I need to really push myself this month in order to avoid setbacks.

Have a good day everyone!!!

KatTheAmazon 11-02-2011 05:26 PM

I'm off to good start this week as well! Yesterday went well. Under 1500 cals for the day and 20 min of walk/jog and 35 min of hand weight exercises. Today is expected to be under 1500 calories as well with 30 min of pilates.

No wine so far! Hope everyone is having a good start!!

ETA: Ended up with under 1600 cals and no pilates. Too tired & will go to bed instead.

P H A T 11-02-2011 05:47 PM

Off to a weird start for me, chicks. I had some Candy (Halloween just passed, give me a break!) .. but I didn't stuff myself with sweets, I was pretty controlled, which is a good thing. This challenge will be relatively short so I feel like I have a better chance at doing well & managing 4 weeks.. its my TOM so hopefully all this access waterweight will be dropping soon!

:grouphug:

NorthernExposure 11-02-2011 08:01 PM

1500ish cals (had a handful of sun chips I didn't count) and 60 minutes of Zumba class today. So far, so good!

Nibbles 11-03-2011 12:01 AM

So far, so good. I ended the day at 1200 calories. Didn't do any exercise, but that's because I'm swamped with work that's due in less than a week. I'll have time for the treadmill eventually.

jigglefree 11-03-2011 09:31 AM

Good Morning Ladies!!!
I'm off to a great start today. I finally met my goal for last challenge (thanks to the fast). My plan is to slowly add foods back so I don't gain any weight and I continue to loose. So onward and downward. I like the short challenges because you really have to stay focused and no accidental or intentional cheating.

Sunday is the end of the fast so I can hop back on my P90X workouts. I talked to a coach at beach body and he told me not to workout during my fasting because it could do more harm than good. The only thing I'm not looking forward to is I may be sore when I get back on the plyometric workout.

Do you all want to have NSV Friday again this challenge?

farn00a57 11-03-2011 12:24 PM

Hey everyone!! Woke up a little late today, but still plan on getting my workout in before going to work. I'm really motivated on this particular challenge. Had some weak moments the last few weeks and thought I needed my ex boyfriend again, but found out something last night that re-affirms (the day after I talked to him and told him i still cared), that I'm too good for him and it was a good thing I got rid of him! Its funny where the mind pulls its motivation from! Especially funny the timing of things. They manage to work out perfectly I've come to realize. I'm ready to kick butt on this challenge! Had a little whoosh this morning, -3.2 pounds, so I'll take it!! Off to work out!
Have a good day everyone!! :)

SparkleBE 11-03-2011 02:30 PM

Hey ladies!
I’m off to a pretty good start. I’ve been OP, staying in the low end of my calorie range and getting in my hour-long walks. I’ve also stuck to just 1 candy a day, which I’m pretty excited about. These challenges always help me so much, being able to write down my goals and have somewhere to be accountable :)

My TOM came yesterday so I feel blah today, but it did bring a nice 1.5 lb whoosh with it. That always happens to me – like my body will let me lose some extra weight cause it know I’ll be feeling gross for a few days. I’m not sure if I’ll be going to my BellyFit class tonight though (it’s a bellydancing fitness class, and focuses a lot on hip + tummy movements). I guess I’ll see if I feel a bit better in the next couple hours. Here’s hoping, since I was really looking forward to the class…

Oh, and I'm still up for NSV Fridays. It always makes me happy to read everyone's NSVs. :)

slim n up 11-03-2011 04:08 PM

I seem to be doing quite well with my eating and exercising. With my heart condition I need to take it slow, but I know that in the end it will be so worth it. I must have had some fluid build up, because I have dropped 2#'s suddenly.:carrot::carrot::carrot:

Good luck everyone.

Wilma

NorthernExposure 11-03-2011 07:41 PM

Wow, looks like everyone is doing well and like me, seem particularly motivated for this challenge! That's so awesome :)

Today I'm at about 1480 calories, and just got back from my 30 minute walk. I was really hungry this afternoon and when I got home I felt like I could have eaten a horse's hind end. But instead of going crazy, I had a piece of string cheese to tide me over until dinner. I'm pretty proud of that!

Yes, I'd like to continue with NSV's if everyone else would. Friday is also my regular weigh in day, so I really like being able to report/read NSV's, especially when WI doesn't go as I had hoped!

tdiprincess 11-03-2011 11:22 PM

Hi all! I agree with Northern, everyone seems to be doing great!

I have fallen behind on my c25k because of my cold. But, I don't want to over do it until I'm healthy again. Eating has been going pretty good. This week I've kept it around 1500 calories. Today I will end with about 1600, which is just fine.
MIL ordered the Wii Zumba game. I tried it out tonight. I have to say that it is WELL worth the 26 bucks! It's quite addicting and just fun! I did that for about an hour tonight! Broke a nice sweat after about 10minutes of it! I will be doing that for some fun!
I weighed myself yesterday and today and I'm steady at 153!! The official is tomorrow so we will see!
As for mileage 4miles down, 56 to go!

Anyhow.. I'm off to bed. Later chickies! Keep up the awesome work!

jigglefree 11-04-2011 09:44 AM

Good Morning Everyone!!
This week has been a good week. Getting geared up for the weekend activities. We have family in town for the weekend but I'm still fasting through Sunday. So I have to be on my game so I don't fall off the wagon.

NSV - I got a some clothing items from a friend last summer and the shirts were too tight in the arms that they cut off my circulation but I tried them on this morning as I was trying to decide what to wear to work and they all fit my arms. They're short sleeved so I couldn't wear the to work today. I was so happy. How cool as well as I tried on a dress i worked really hard to get in when I first started this journey and it is WAY too big!!! I was amazed because when I wore for the first time I had to put on all the shape wear I owned to wear it on a date with my husband. I was very proud of myself that I was able to wear it that night but now it's it too big...surreal!!

NorthernExposure 11-04-2011 09:46 AM

Good news and bad news from my WI this morning. The good news: I have lost *some* of the 2 lbs I had gained as of last week's WI (plus whatever unknown damage I did over Halloween weekend) since my "restart" on Monday. So all in all, I guess it could have been worse.

The bad news: If I'm to be honest with myself--and I need to be--I can't leave my ticker on 176 anymore, so 177 it is. <sigh>. I swear my body is absolutely ENAMORED with the 177-178 range. I have been within about 2 lbs of that weight forEVER now. I'm not sure I'm ready to call it a plateau as I certainly haven't been 100% OP since I came out of maintenance mode around Labor Day...but it is getting frustrating gaining and losing these same few pounds for two months now.

BUT, I am SO determined to break through this time and get under the 175 mark (and to my elusive 100 lbs lost goal) for this challenge. If I don't make it, it won't be because I didn't try, I'll tell you that much! I will NOT be cheating this weekend!

Ok..now for my NSV. I mentioned this in another thread, so I'm sorry if it's a repeat for some, but I'm pretty proud of this one! So for our bi-weekly staff meetings, the kitchen ladies make these WONDERFUL homemade cinnamon rolls (complete with the gooey frosting). I haven't been able to resist all year. "Oh, I deserve a treat twice a month, I've been working hard", you know, all the same old rationalizations. Well this week I resisted...yay!

Have a great weekend, ladies, and keep up the good work!

Tdi: Isn't that wii zumba fun? I have loaned mine to my SIL. I will have to get it back from her soon!

tdiprincess 11-04-2011 09:56 AM

Northern: Excellent job! At least you're making forward progress with the scale and being honest with yourself. Keep doing what you're doing and you will surpass the 175 mark! I tend to do the same thing though. I get to a weight and then I seem to stagnate there for a few weeks. Eventually though, you will get past it! AWESOME NSV too!!

I weighed in at 153! That makes me happy!
My NSV is that I put down the 1/2 off bag of Halloween candy at Walmart! If I want some candy, I'll put a small serving and share it from now on. I'm not buying a big pack like that! All we do is eat the whole bag in 2 days!

sumu1 11-04-2011 11:33 AM

I need to get back on the wagon here. I only lost 2 lbs in the Halloween challenge...maintained most of the time. Which is good...could have gained :-)

So 2 weeks to Thanksgiving...I'm going to shoot for 5 lbs. A nice, even 150 would be fantastic. I need to do more formal exercise though. I'm very active in my job but some fresh air and walk/jogging would do me a load of good.

oh...NSV...all candy not given to trick or treaters...in the garbage and to the curb...

SparkleBE 11-04-2011 04:14 PM

Happy Friday!
Sounds like everyone’s geared up for the challenge and doing well so far! As for me, I’ve had a good OP week and gotten in my walks every day. I also seem to be riding a bit of a TOM whoosh, which seems like an auspicious way to start off the challenge :) I’ll have to resist a bit of food temptation this Sunday though since it’s my sister’s baby shower. But I’m excited to see her, since I haven’t seen her since she got preggers.

Sumu: Maintaining is definitely a good thing :)
Tdi: Good job resisting the big bag of Halloween candy!
Northern: Congrats on resisting the cinnamon rolls! Those must be really hard to say no to…
Jiggle: Yay! Outshrinking (err… undergrowing?) clothes is awesome!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

SparkleBE 11-04-2011 04:22 PM

Oops, I forgot my NSV… So here it is: Despite feeling kinda sick from my TOM yesterday, I went to my BellyFit class. And I’m so glad I went! It was loads of fun, and I know I would have been disappointed if I hadn’t gone. Plus, it gave me something to think about other than my TOM. Yay!

KDM322 11-04-2011 10:05 PM

Hey ladies!! I'm embarassed to say that I fell off the wagon AGAIN last month for the Halloween Challenge. I didn't completely fall off when it came to eating, and I went to the gym pretty regularly, but I wasn't OP totally...one of my main goals for that challenge was to sign into 3FC daily to keep my motivation up and get the inspiration from you guys, but my only real time to do that is at work and we've been super busy...excuses, excuses, I know...but I'm here to say I gotta put a stop to it NOW!!

I'm joining this challenge with great motivation and a good track record for last week AND this week...thanks to an early Christmas gift from my mom...the FITBIT...I LOVE IT!!! I've used it religously since Tues (Nov.1) and I can honestly say I'm addicted! haha I love seeing the numbers on the actual FitBit piece, but even more so when I sync it up with the website and see my totals and how it relates to the food i've eaten with calories in vs. calories out! it's amazing!!!

However, I haven't weighed since near the beginning of the Halloween challenge and I'm not going to until closer to Thanksgiving...I know it might give me that kick in the butt I need to stay on track to see a disappointing number, BUUUUT, the last few months the scale has only sabotaged my efforts!! I'll be doing so good and then expect a good number and when I dont get it, I give up...this is not good....sooo, for now, since I"ve been FULLY ON PLAN since Nov. 1st, I'm going to continue on this path and weigh myself on Thanksgiving morning. That'll be 3 whole weeks of being ON PLAN and hopefully the scale will be rewarding! :)

GOALS for this challenge:
1) read AND post daily on 3FC
2) wear FitBit every day & log everything eaten on their website
3) stay within the daily calorie limit proposed by FitBit (varies depending on activity level)
4) workout for atleast 40min 3x/week

NSV for this week: the only thing I can think of is actually taking responsibility for my cheating...meaning, this week when I've eaten a piece of halloween candy or that dirt cake my co-worker brought to work, I actually logged the calories! In the past, I've cheated but not really logged it...eventually (hopefully) my NSV will say NO CHEATING THE ENTIRE WEEK...haha we'll see about that one bc I've always been a firm believer in if you want that piece of candy, then eat it & don't deprive yourself! LoL at least now I'm logging those calores! haha :D

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!! Glad to see some of the oldies back...Jdonato, Farn, Jiggle, And Northern!!!!

ScottieMama 11-04-2011 11:07 PM

Hello everyone! I'm so happy to see a few mini-whooshes. :)

I had another one as well--down 2 lbs from unofficial weigh-in on Halloween.

My NSV: I went to Goodwill today and bought 3 pairs of jeans one size smaller than what I've been wearing for 6 weeks! Yay! Bought three shirts too, 2 large & 1 medium. As a top heavy girl, I do not expect to wear mediums all the time because of my chest, but it's sure nice to show off my hourglass.

Slim n up--what walk tapes do you do?

Unna 11-05-2011 04:07 AM

I need to get more "geared up" for the challenge!

I need to find my mojo again!

I'm still doing 15 - 1700 calories a day, walking daily, and jogging multiple times a week. But the mojo is gone. But, I'm still consistent.

Anyway, I think it has something to do with my boyfriend. Not him, in particular, but I seem to do the best with WL when he is away on business and I'm alone - like, I simply have more time for to envision and fantasize about my goal and such. Sounds odd. He doesn't do anything to sabotage my plan. Sometimes he offers me a square of choco (25cal), but that's it.

He'll be gone again Monday - maybe I'll be able to reclaim the missing motivation then. Until then, I'll just remain consistent.

NorthernExposure 11-05-2011 09:25 AM

So I woke up today and just had one of those "feeling thinner" days. Decided to sneak a peek on the scale and sure enough, I was down almost a lb since yesterday! Saturday is not my "official" WI day, but I am going to claim it anyway. I really need the psychological boost. Now I'm back to about where I was before I gained the 2 lbs last week. Feel like I have a "clean slate" now :)

Scottie: smaller sizes are SO motivating, way to go!!

Tdi: Thanks so much for the encouragement and good work on your NSV! I thought of you when I was at Walmart last night. I almost bought a bag of beef jerky. Not that beef jerky is so horrible in and of itself, but I WILL eat the whole bag, and I do NOT need all that sodium. I put it back!

Sparkle: good job going to your class, sounds like you had fun!

KDM: welcome back! This group is on fire for this challenge, hope you'll stick around and help keep us (and yourself) motivated :) Good deal on the fitbit, sounds awesome! As far as cheating, FWIW, I don't consider a piece of candy cheating if it's logged and fits into your calories for the day. I always make room for a little treat. That's just me though!

Unna: I kind of know what you mean. My DH is gone for the weekend, and it always seems to be easier for me to stay OP when he's not around. Maybe because we're not eating out? He doesn't sabatoge me either or anything (he's actually lost about 100 lbs too!)...it's just easier for him to lose weight (darn men!), so where he has room to slack off a little on the weekends and still lose, I have to stay more focused, and it's easier to do by myself.

Hope everyone is having a great start to the weekend!
