I'm looking forward to this work week's eating plan. The weekends are always weird; either I'm under eating or struggling to not over eat.
Wishing a super week ahead for y'all. Chick |
I took a running dive off the wagon yesterday. I had a thought about something I wanted to eat and I ate it and everything else in the kitchen. The only redemptive part of it if there is any is I did it all before 7pm. Not that before 7pm makes it any less horrific but it makes me feel better about it.
So no I'm having an extremely low calorie day today. I was thinking while I was doing it and my thought was I don't care, I've been working really hard and I just want some junk. I'm in a better place today and it should be better all the way around. I have two weeks to loose 4lbs...well after yesterday it may be 6lbs. Not sure but I got this!! |
Jiggle: I had one of those weekends too! But, you're doing the best thing by getting back up and moving on today! Also, you're not beating yourself up too badly. I hope you enjoyed your indulgence yesterday! Sometimes, we just need a break. Remember that we didn't gain all our weight overnight, so one bad day isn't going to break all you've done. It might detain you for a few days, but as long as you keep moving, you'll be just fine!
124: Thanks for the happy wishes! I hope you have a good week as well! Weekends are always tough for me. I always overeat! If you've read my posts to the others, I went way off plan Saturday and Sunday. Today I'm back in action! I did w3d1 of c25k! I also walked barefoot for .3 of a mile, that's not much but you have to build up over time. I have to say that it was quite exhilarating! Eating has been allright. I haven't really wanted to eat much. I'll be having some veggie soup later on with a side of veggies and fruit :D Oh, and I broke down and bought egg nog! I waited for the last 3-4 weeks that it's been out and caved yesterday. I'm keeping it together though! :D |
Hey ladies!
I was OP this weekend, but I decided to take an exercise break on Saturday and not go walking. I wasn’t feeling great and needed the break, but I was happy to get out and walk again on Sunday. Hope everyone’s having a great week so far! |
Hey guys!
I wasn't perfect last week (missed my 5 days/week exercise goal by one day...just got lazy on Sunday) but I did log every day and only had one higher calorie day on Saturday. This week I'm off to a decent start, about 1500 cals yesterday and my 2 mile WATP video. Hope everyone's week is going well so far! |
I having a good week so far. No excess and 1200 calories strictly...of course it's only Tuesday morning. I'm optimistic about this week anyway.
I want to see a new decade!!! WE CAN DO THIS!!! |
Northern -- Good job with staying OP while the girls were in town!!! Which WATP video do you have?? Do you have one in particular you enjoy more?? OR one that gives you a better WO (ie. makes you sweat more)??
Jiggle -- You are such a great example!!! Good job getting back on the wagon! I'm usually the one who will fall off one day and stay off, dragging my butt on the ground, creating more damage than needed!! As for me, I've been reasonably good/OP these last few days...i've been logging my food...went to the gym sat AND sun...then took my dogs for a walk last night bc it was like 74 here with a nice breeze. today i'm going straight to the gym from work and will do 40-45min of cardio :) I'm still using my Fitbit and LOVE IT! I can't report on it's accuracy yet bc I haven't had enough time of being completely ON PLAN since I got it...but I still love seeing the numbers! :) it keeps me motivated to get moving if my steps are low... Keep up the good work!!!! |
KDM: Great job on your exercise this weekend! I need to be better about that. I have two WATP vids. One is an old-school VHS that my MIL gave me when she was cleaning out her basement (lol) it's a 2-mile 30 minute one that also has some hand weight components. I really don't sweat much on that one, but it's kind of my "go to" when I want to do SOMETHING and I only have 1/2 hour and/or not a ton of motivation. My other one is a newer DVD, 3 mile walk with resistance bands. Also a "bonus" ab workout at the end. Takes about 50 minutes total. That one has some higher intensity "jogging" parts, so it's definitely the better WO of the two.
I'm slowly getting used to working out inside again...we had our first accumulating snow today, so I guess winter is here <sigh>. I much prefer to be outdoors, but even when it's not too cold (by MN standards at least, lol), the roads around my house are just too dangerous to walk on with the ice & snow and no shoulders. Jiggle & TDI: sounds like you guys are doing a GREAT job getting back on track! Sounds like everyone else is also off to a good start this week. Keep up the good work! Today I will end up at about 1450 calories. Think I will actually do my weights/yoga tonight. I have been taking advantage of being outside as much as possible up until this point, but really need to get back into my resistance training and toning. My cardio has been good, but I need to keep those muscles in shape too! |
There are a whole bunch of positive attitudes going on in this thread--I like it!
We get knocked down, but we get up again. Oh, those hits of the 90s! I was reminded of that song by VH1. One hit wonders. #1 was "Baby Got Back" -- and that extra cushioning gets treated as a desirable thing, so sometimes we are our own worst critics, ya know? tdiprincess--you do some of your walking barefooted? Whats that about? Did your feet get cold? ;) I've been having some insomnia lately, but tonight I'm just having some sinus trouble and can't really get comfortable ... but I'm tired. I'm sure I'll be sorry about this at work today, and my voice is sounding all funny and like a dude (how do I know this at 4:30 in the morning?) why, by talking to the dog, of course...lol Maybe I can try to avoid answering the phone at work...haha. So dietwise, I'm doing good and can't complain. For those of you struggling, I wish you peace and success, and those doing well, continued success. Chick |
Jiggle: Awesome work staying very strict!
KDM: Great work getting to the gym and exercising away!! The fitbit looks like a really neat toy! I agree that watching how many steps you've taken helps motivate you to get more in!! :D Northern: Great work yourself!! I'm sorry about the snow :( We haven't gotten snow here yet, but it's a matter of time. Probably by the end of this month or else early December. Fortunately, I live in the city where most people clear sidewalks and the streets are plowed, so I can at least do a bit outside if it's not too cold. 124: The barefoot thing LOL is a lot of fun I must say! Recently I purchased these: Vibram FiveFingers. They're pretty cool! To transition into them a lot of sites recommend doing a bit of work barefoot in order to help you recognize when you've done too much with your feet. The other day it was 60 degrees here, so the ground wasn't too cold. I probably won't do that too much more until the spring time, but I just wanted to see what it was like. I have to say it was very enjoyable! Today I'm planning on taking my fivefingers out with me on my jog. I will update more later, gotta go! |
I'm a little sore today...I can definitely tell it's been a long time since I last lifted weights. Will get some good cardio tonight with my zumba class. Going to do something kind of low intensity tomorrow night so my body has a bit of a "recovery" before my WI Friday morning. I seem to have my best WI's after a "rest" day, but I can't skip my Thursday night workout otherwise I will have to add another exercise day to the weekend, and it's hard enough as it is, lol.
Calorie wise I'm looking at about at about a 1400 cal day. Surprised it added up to be that low. If I'm really hungry tonight after zumba, I might allow myself a 100 cal pack of popcorn. Chick: I totally remember that song :) Sorry to hear about your insomnia. Not fun at all :( Tdi: those toe shoe things are kind of cute :) My hometown hosts a marathon every year and I used to volunteer to pass out water to the runners. There was always a guy who ran barefoot every year. I can't imagine. Of course there was a time when humans didn't have Nikes (lol), but wow, that seems like a lot of abuse for his poor feet! |
Northern: It definitely takes a long time to build up to running in barefeet!! In the end though, it really strengthens your muscles and can help alleviate some common joint problems that can come from running. I love the fivefingers though! I'm working on building up to running in them, but you need to allow your feet to get strong enough. Like any other muscles that you strength train, you need to gradually increase the intensity.
I'm having an "okay" food day. I'm already at 1100 calories because I had a frappucino from a coffee shop and a bit of cake. The rest of the day I plan to try and eat healthy. I need quite a bit of protein. Otherwise, it's off to my jog! Later chickies!! |
I'm going to make it through this week!!! I'm feeling good about my eating and I will be expecting some good results on Sunday. I look forward to hearing the awesome results of this challenge. We have a week to go so let's push it through this week!!
|
1500 cals yesterday (I did have my popcorn snack during X factor last night, ha!) and an hour of zumba. STILL sore today from my weightlifting on Tuesday night. Hoping I'm not retaining too much water for WI tomorrow. I currently have about 1350 cals planned for today, but will probably add a snack in there. Going to do some light cardio tonight and hope and pray I bust past the 175 mark tomorrow! (Last WI was 175.5, with TOM.) It's funny though, I seem to have my biggest "whooshes" about midway through my cycle...most people have them right after TOM. Still gives me hope that I will get to goal next week if I don't tomorrow since that will be the "sweet spot" in my cycle. Can't believe there's only a week left!
I suppose we should start thinking about our next challenge. Are you guys thinking Christmas, New Years? Something like that? |
I agree with Jiggle - LETS PUSH THROUGH THIS WEEK!!
Northern - I think I also have a swoosh in the middle of TOM...last year when I was weighing every day, I noticed that with myself....Hoping for your 175 bust!! :) Yesterday was an awesome day for me!!!! I stayed OP (NO DONUTS from the weekly office donut Wednesday!!!) AND then went to the gym and did an entire 60min on the elliptical cross trainer!!! This was a first for me!! So I guess it was a NSV! :D My calories were good too....1586...and that's counting the chocolate :) Here's a question..maybe for those of you who have a HRM....so I've always heard that the cardio machines are incorrect, and I assumed that meant they OVER estimated your calorie burn....so yesterday the elliptical (with my age & weight entered into the machine) said I burned a total of 649 cals....buuut, then when I synced my FitBit, it said I burned 796 cals in that hour....and many of the postings on the Community message board of FitBit say they find their FB to be pretty accurate with their HRM...I've never owned an HRM and was just wondering if anyone has ever compared an HRM with the cardio machines (especially the ones where you can enter your personal info into it)??? Any advice would be great!! I may post a message elsewhere to see what others think... Well, it's Thursday....ONE WEEK FROM TURKEY DAY!!!! I'm disappointed in myself for falling off the wagon the weekend my friend was visiting, but at least I didn't let it last all month!! I haven't weighed since the beginning of the Halloween challenge and plan to weigh next Wed or Thurs...hoping for anything below 195 :D lol I really just need to focus on getting AND STAYING on track with tracking calories and exercising, so the scale is not a big factor right now :) sorry, enough rambling...hope you all have a great day!!!! |
This week has been a bust so far for me on WL. I should be glad that I've stayed OP this week. I haven't worked out due time/work cOnstraints but Friday is a half day for me so I am planning on working out Fri/Sat/Sun.
My parents & little brother and sister are coming down Saturday for the week. I'm super excited but wary. We love celebrating with good food and wine! I'm going to have to be extra diligent next week. |
Hey ladies,
I hope I can join up with you again for this challenge. The last month was terrible, my fiance and I were having a lot of problems, we just split up last week. I stopped caring a whole lot about myself, especially dieting. I kind of stopped being interested in living life for the most part, which included being part of an online community. Anyways, I'm trying to put the lack of living behind me, I can't ignore life because of someone else and I'm ready to finish this. :) I hope everyone's been doing fantastically since the last time I was on. |
Glad to have you back, Lemon!
|
Lemonzest:   I'm sorry you've had to go through all that! I'm glad you're back though! Let's git 'er done! :D
I've had an allright day. I did quite a bit of training work, so I kinda sat around a bit. I just did some Zumba Wii. I was planning to do more, but toward the end of 20mins my body wasn't feeling so great. I decided to end for the night. I hope all are doing well! Tomorrow I plan to WI and take my measurements since I haven't done those in a while! Hope ya'll have a good night! :carrot: |
Hi all. Good luck with your WI and your measurements, TDI. I won't be weighing in for a while. Taking a much needed break from it it.
Lemon, welcome back to a place where you are always in style! Sorry to hear about your troubles, but happy that you are coming around the bend. KDM, a small fall is okay so long as we pick ourselves back up and get back to it! Jigglefree, way to go! Kat, I wish you strength. Northern, you are doing amazing. Keep up the good work. As to the next challenge, I'm kind of on "coast" right now. I'm still dieting, still making good choices, still counting, but not weighing myself. Definitely needed a break from that. With Thanksgiving upcoming, I may postpone my weigh in all the way to early December...LOL Stay strong. Hugs to all, Donna |
173.9!!!! I did it! I've officially lost 100 lbs!!!
Whew! That was a looooong time coming. I'm certainly celebrating today, but now is not the time to lose focus! My next personal goal is to get out of the 170's (been here forEVER). I obviously can't do that by next week, but I hope to get a bit of a jump on the next challenge! Have a GREAT Friday, ladies! |
:congrat: :bravo: Northern!! :dancer: :dancer: That is so exciting!!! Keep it up!! :D
I at least got back to where I was last week before I ate like crazy for a few days! Today I plan to stay OP and I have my jog to get in. This weekend we're off to Binghamton again, so we will see how we eat. Have a great day and weekend as well chickies!! :carrot: |
Way to go, Northern!!! Did you do a happy dance? I hope so, because I just did one for you.
I dropped two more pounds since the last time I reported in, so it's going well here. We're getting close to Thanksgiving, y'all. Let's do this. :) |
Been MIA a few days and my weight has been fluctuating weird, I'm up 3 pounds. Not worried about it at all, I'm hoping its water retention. Gonna drink more water and trying to get a little more exercise in.
Northern: CONGRATULATIONS ON THE 100!!!!!!!! THATS AMAZING!!!!! Looks like a lot of us have new wardrobes as motivators, we're gonna be a bunch of healthy hotties when we reach our goals!!!!!! Let's keep up the good work!!!!!! |
Thanks for the welcome back ladies.
Northern, congrats on losing the 100, that's incredible! |
Had a mini whoosh today and the pounds I went up came right back off. Looks like it was probably water weight after all!!!
Only a few days left ladies!!!!! Lets make 'em count!!!!!!! |
Congrats NorthernExposure! I'm so happy you made this important goal!!!
Just a quick update here: lost 1 lb last week and 1lb for this week. 1lb to go! |

Happy Sunday, ladies and thanks for all the congratulatory wishes. Yes, I DID do a happy dance, lol!
This weekend I've been a little on the high side calorie wise. This if my first weekend alone with DH in a long time, so we ate out a lot. I did log (to the best of my ability...some of it was guesstimating) and I tried to make good choices, but we all know how restraurant food adds up! I'm pretty sure I kept it under 2000 cals both days, but it's definitely a little higher than I'd like, especially with Turkey day coming up. I plan to keep it 1600 or less today and get my workout in, which would meet my 5 day goal for this week. Well, we're down to the last few days...let's finish strong! |

CONGRATS NORTHERN EXPOSURE!! OMG that is just amazing!!!
|
Fyreflie: Thanks so much :)
I hear you on the "no gain" for Thanksgiving. I am weighing in Thursday morning for my last WI of this challenge, then I'm not going anywhere near the scale until the following Friday! I am going to eat what I want on Thanksgiving, but plan to go right back OP on Friday. My hope is a full week OP (or as near OP as possible) will be enough to undo the turkey day damage. Yesterday was a better day than Friday/Saturday. Kept my calories under 1600 and did my weights/yoga. That's 2 out of the last 3 weeks I met my 5 day/week exercise goal! (Missed by one day last week.) I plan to be striclty OP the rest of this workweek (only 2 more days after today, yay!!), because we all know what happens Thursday! ;) I'm hoping for a bit of a loss Thursday morning. Last WI was 173.9. Would love to move my ticker one lb closer to the 160's! |
hi guys! Looks like there's some great improvements going on!!
Hope everyone had a good weekend! I had a great weekend, activity-wise. Food-wise was pretty horrific :D! On Saturday we did a whole bunch of drywall hanging. I'm still sore in my thighs and arms. I'm thinking about not going for my c25k jog today due to it. If I don't then I will do a little zumba. Food, I did not pay attention to what I ate at all. I ate whatever I wanted. Today is back to normal food-wise though, at least for now. We plan to go again this coming weekend out to Binghamton, so it'll probably be the same thing again. We will see. Anyhow..off to get some cleaning done and some sort of exercise! Later chickies!! :carrot: |
HEY EVERYBODY!!!!!!!! I'm so excited. I went shopping this past weekend and we stopped in Jones New York and it took a minute but I finally mustered up the gumption to try on some size 12s. They slid right on with no problem. I almost exploded...which would have been okay because me and a friend were the only ones in the store. Well I tried on the size 10 in the same style of jeans and I got them on. I was sweating and could barely walk out of the dressing room but I was in them. I was sooooooooo excited. I nearly fainted. I had to hurry and take off those 10s because I didn't want to burst the seams and have to pay $40 for some jeans that, one I couldn't quite fit and two, I need to fix...I can't sew. I have never really worn Jones New York pants because even in the plus size they didn't fit right. I have been all the way turned up since Saturday evening after I got in that size 10. I couldn't believe I actually got them on my body...let alone zipped and buttoned. It was a workout but I got them on. I was shopping in other stores and picked up a 16 and it looked so big to me. VERY ODD seeings how I was working my butt off to get into a 16!!!
Let me say something...I didn't think they would fit because when I look at myself in the mirror I look the same as I did when I started because some of the more notable rolls are still hanging around...we are in an all out war. But I think I'm at the point that the journey is more psychological than anything. I've been wearing my 16s and a couple 18s since last year this time. One of my coworkers looked at me last Monday and said Daphine, those pants are just way too big. You don't need to wear them anymore. That helped me realize that I had gotten comfortable in that size and anything smaller seemed unattainable. I used to get rid of things when they got that big. Since I haven't done that with these it's made me lazy. I worked really hard to get to that size and it was like the devil letting go even though I want to get into that size 10 comfortably everyday. I guess I wrote all this for me and those that are struggling to get to goal. It gets to a point that you are doing the work and you hit a point of I've done good so I don't have to push as hard...especially when you are getting all kinds of compliments. They are great but can also get you off focus and you loose your drive to get to goal. I think for me it's good that I'm getting my psyche together now so I can really get to my size 10!!! |
Hey ladies!
I’ve been OP and had a good weekend, although I haven’t been walking as much as I’d like. I’m getting in 30 mins most days, and I just can’t seem to motivate myself to stay outside longer with the cold weather. I’ll have to stick to doing indoor exercise during the winter… I’m already feeling really bloaty with PMS even though my TOM won’t start for over a week, but at least I haven’t been inclined to go over my calorie limit since I’m feeling icky ;) Jiggle: Way to go fitting into those 12s and getting close to the 10s. You’ll be there soon! I feel the same way when I look in the mirror these days – I still see my old self. Even though I get compliments (some from people who don’t know that I’m losing weight), I feel like they’re just humoring me and I still look the same. But then occasionally I’ll have a moment and actually see the differences… I never thought I’d have to get used to the fact that I’m smaller than before. Tdi: Sounds like you had a great weekend and good job getting back on plan today! Northern: :yay: Congrats on losing 100 lbs!!! That’s so exciting! Way to go! :cheer2: Fyreflie: Congrats on reaching your goal! Right now I’m really glad that Thanksgiving in Canada is in October, so I’ve already had to deal with it. But I’m sure if you just wait a few days to weigh yourself, you should be back to normal :) Scottie: Yay, you’re getting close! Farn: Congrats on the whoosh! |
Northern - Congrats!!! You have lost a ONEderland. AWESOME JOB GIRLIE!!! I'm so proud of you. That took some work!!!! YOU ROCK!!!!
|
checking in.....2 more days to get to thanksgiving...how exciting :) For the first time in years, I've taken off the day before, and I will do my shopping then. It will be lovely to not have to rush around Thursday as I can get some of the prep work done the day before.
So, it isn't hard to be good when I've had this sinus "thing" hanging around. If I could just get rid of the congestion all would get right with my world. I hope y'all are meeting your goals!! Chick |
Scale is stuck!! grr... Going to kick boxing this morning and hoping that helps. I'm trying to look at this as a way of really focusing on my 3 days of entertaining/eating at friends' houses in a mindful way. I'd really like 3 more lbs this month to stay on track. Ahh!! Stress :) lol!
|
Fran--Congrats on the whoosh! lol I haven't been weighing, just trying to get in the right frame of mind tracking and exercising...but i truly miss weighing every day and seeing those whooshes!!!
Scottie--Keep up the good work!!! fyre--GREAT JOB!! And don't panic, it will be OK...Maybe just eat lower calories the days around Turkey Day and it'll make up for the extra you might haveon Thursday :) just an idea Northern--not sure if I said it yet, but CONGRATULATIONS!! 100lbs is freakin awesome!! You go girl!! and i'm with ya on weighing Thursday and not stepping on the scale again til next Friday!! :D tdlprincess--hanging drywall sucks!! lol Hope the sore muscles leave quickly! Jiggle--HOW EXCITING!!! 12's being loose and then being able to sqeeze into the 10s...Congrats! Before you know it, the 10s will be loose!!! Keep rockin' it girl!!! Sparkle--sorry you're feeling icky! 124chick--Hope you feel better soon!!! As for me, I had a relatively good weekend! On Saturday, my activity level was low because I worked a 12 hour shift and had mostly sat at my desk all day...sooo, I made a choice and got up off my butt! lol I walked the hallway and parking lot at a pretty good pace for 30 minutes straight!!! I even walked a pattern of up & down the parking spot stripes so I could go up the slight incline! haha i'm a dork, I know! :) The only bad thing about the weekend was I went to see Twilight on Sunday night and gave in to the popcorn! AAHH! But oh well! I had a really good week calorie wise and the popcorn's not gonna completely ruin it! (atleast I hope not) Gotta look on the positive side :D waiting for Thursday so I can weigh and really hoping it'll make me smile :) |
Jiggle: woo-hooo, you're so close to your size 10 goal!! How exciting. I don't know what it is about size 16, I was wearing 16's long after I should have too! Still have a few in my closet that I haven't gotten rid of yet. I'm comfortably in a 14 now, but after reading your post, I wonder if I could squeeze into a 12 now....hmmmmmm.
Tdi: sounds like you've been super busy! Hope there is *some* relaxation in your future soon :) Sparkle: I hear you on the cold weather. Sounds like it's going to be a brutal winter for those of us in the Great Lakes region. Yippie. Chick: hope you feel better soon! It's never fun being sick, but it's even worse around the holidays when there are so many expectations. Fyre: stuck scale be gone! You're doing great though, 7 lbs in this amount of time is awesome. As for me, I was able to stick to the low end of my calories yesterday, about 1420. 30 minutes elliptical. Debating if I will do cardio again tonight or weights. I last did weights on Sunday, but I'm still a little sore. Just easing back into it after several months away...guess I'll see how I feel. |
