Keep up the good work ladies!!
|
Emme- thank you!
jiggle- You have found what your body needs to lose weight, sometimes that takes a while. But now you know and your on your way to success! By the way, my body responds to more protein also, but I don't need to cut carbs too low, only about 30-40g a day & I eat alot of carbs! jdonato- Hang in there, are you trying to eat the same as before when you lost weight? Maybe your eating differently. I found that going back to basics & knowing what works is the best way. After maintaining for so long, sometimes you change your eating habits & it's hard to get back to the real grind of things. Good luck, keep us posted. This is day the 6th day eating on plan, gained 3oz , not worried, it's normal to fluctuate. Walked 32min. briskly & did hills as always, it's getting easier since my weight is coming down. It's not so hard on my knees when my weight is lower, but they still bother me. Had 1260 cal. Baked a banana cake, used substitutions to make it lower cal, sodium & fat. It wasn't as good, but it wasn't frosted yet when I had a piece. I'm making peanut butter frosting later, then I might be in trouble! |
I'm new here, sorry if I'm late on this challenge.
I'll keep it short and sweet: Goal - to stay at 1200 calories per day. It's not too hard (I'm not a very hungry person), but I am going to miss my Italian and Mexican dishes. I know my boyfriend will too. hahah |
Welcome Aries!!
|
Morning all!
I've been doing well OP the past few days, so nothing to really add there! My mother's birthday is coming up on Saturday and I plan on making her strawberry shortcake (homemade, with biscuits- the only way to do it!) as it's her favorite. Wish me luck on being OP that day, ha! Aries- Welcome! Fruit- High five! And that banana cake sounds so good...mmm, peanut butter frosting...yep, I'd be in trouble! Jdon- That's unfortunate about the low carb. I'm starting to notice slower weight loss, too- it's hard to adjust, that's for sure. I used to hit 2 pounds per week no problem but something tells me that's not happening this time! Interesting that you're not having Alli symptoms. I'm certain that if I tried it, it would cause me problems because I have a sensitive system. Reading about "oily discharge" is what put me off of it, haha. I'm glad to hear it's working well for you though! Keep it up! Jiggle- You're doing fantastically! Keeping me motivated! Emme- That's the attitude to have- got to keep on pushing. What's in the past is in the past. Welcome to the other new challengers, too! Sorry if I missed anyone! |
Good morning!
Had another on plan day. I'm surprised by the amount of energy I have since I've decreased my carbs. The only carbs I really get are the ones that are naturally in fruits and veggies. I never thought I'd see the day that I didn't miss bread of any kind, rice or pasta. They don't even tempt me. I had given up refined sugars and white foods a while back. I do have brown rice and whole wheat pasta on occasion but not too frequently. I'm hoping to be down three more pounds this week. I am doing less intense workouts like walking on the treadmill at 3.0 and toning exercises. I'm going to get to my goal yet. Corinne - Thanks. I try not to have too many down days. You are doing pretty well though. Ekicna - Thanks for the encouragement. Aries - Welcome. It's still almost two weeks left so you can make some good progress. Fruitlady - Very true about the hills. When I first started it was difficult to walk on the treadmill at an incline. It has gotten much easier...haven't done any outdoor uphill walking but I'm going to see about that in the fall. It's been too hot in Georgia to go outside for me. JD - I know how you are feeling. I had been going through a lot of trial and error until I decided to go see my doctor and he helped me understand what works for my body. Maybe you should try seeing your doctor and see how things go from that perspective. I refused to give up even though the people around me thought I had quit my journey but I hadn't, I was just trying to find what would work for me. JUST A THOUGHT!! |
Jiggle: Thanks and congrats! Yes I notice I do have more energy when I eat less refine sugars and reduce starches. I'm sure i'll find what works for me. I have a question for you and for frutilady also...how do you guys cut out refine sugars? as in what trigger ingredients do you look for that makes you not eat it?
Corinne: Good luck with your mom's bday and you are doing great! I'm sorry but I have to be a little graphic so you will understand. I do have the "oil discharge" in my stool, but it's not all the time, and that is how you can tell your body is getting the fat out. It's not bad, infact I don't notice any difference when I have to use the rest room. I don't have the crazy side effects of spotting or anything crazy when I can't make it to the bathroom. It's whenever I'm able to use the rest room and if I can go great if not, then I can wait. No cramps or bloating. I feel no difference, so the discharge once in a while doesn't bother me because I feel completely normal. Do you know what I mean? fruitlady: I ate the same as I did before, but this time I was even healthier, becaue I watched my calories and fat intake. Before when doing phase 1 I just eat as much as I wan't as long as it wasn't bread, starches, and sugar and I lost alot. So I don't know. I am going back to the basics now by eating as natural as possible. The good thing from it is i'm watching my sugars. I ask you the same question as I do jiggle about what you cut out. and nice job on the weightloss! Very proud of you :) Did my weekly weighin this morning for Alli and I was 137.2. According to the website i've been losing an average of 1.49lbs a week. eh not great but it's something. I know I have to exercise, but I'm still an active person, with softball, walking everywhere and all the cleaning and household stuff I do. Feeling good today, and we will see if I'm really good today what the scale says tomorrow! Good luck ladies and lets have an OP DAY! |
Thanks all for the welcome!
|
I am 0.8 lbs away from my goal. Then I definitely need to start exercising more. I cannot be thin and flabby. That is just unacceptable.
Happy Hump Day!! |
Just stopping in to say hello to everyone. Welcome, Aries! It sounds like everyone is doing great. Happy Hump Day!

Alright, second post in a day, but I'd just like to say I've UNOFFICIALLY hit GOAL!
I say unofficially because I cheated and weighed today, but I only count Friday weigh days, so we'll see if it sticks! Really really boosted my mood! :carrot: That means I've made it for the fourth of July challenge! So, let's hope I can maintain! Jdon- Ah, okay! I thought when they mentioned oily discharge they meant random oily discharge, not only when you use the toilet. Makes more sense now! |
jdonato- I look at the grams of sugar on the label first. If it's below 12g. I'm ok w/ it. Then I check for High Fructose Corn syrup, fructose, corn syrup, anything chemically made basically. I will eat artificial sweetners, since it's in some yogurts I like & evaporated cane juice which is what Kashi Brands use. The amount of weight you lose per week is fine, your losing & that's what counts!
Thanks everyone, your all so supportive! Very hot here, walked anyway for 35min. Had 1176 calories, under limit this time, LOL. Weight was down 7oz. I just counted, this is the 8th day I've actually been eating on plan, it's a miracle! 4 more pounds to go!! I ate one piece of the banana cake i made, last night. It was too late, I don't eat after dinner at 6pm. I thought I'd see a small gain from it, I was surprised to see a loss. Both the icing & cake were an experiment w/ using substitutions to make it healthier, maybe that's why it didn't cause weight gain & it wasn't processed. I love to cook & bake, so I will be baking my own treats if I want something, at least that way I know what the ingredients are, better than buying and not knowing. Good luck to all!!! |
Corinne Irene-CONGRATS! AMAZING!SUPER!
My birthday was yesterday so I did go 500 calories over my daily limit...I love angel food cake. I gave the rest of the cake away today and stayed in calories today but do not expect the scale to like me Friday... Keep it up ladies! |

Im not gonna spend too much time complaining about how this stupid scale wont budge, because to be honest, I could be doing so much better... like I said, not working has really put a halt on my weight loss.. Im no where near my challenge goal, & there's only 2 weeks left.. Im about to start kicking up the exercises, & cut down on the sugar & sodium for the next few days.. Id love to see at least 2 more lbs come off... Id be happy with that at least until I start working again!~!~ Well Im gonna end it here, goodnight sweetie pies~~~ |
Corinne ~ :cheer: Yay!! That is awesome!! :)
fruitlady ~ It's awesome that you've been OP for 8 days...keep up the great work! :) k15g15 ~ Happy, Happy (belated) Birthday!! :carrot: Ekicna ~ Great work!! :D P H A T ~ Keep on truckin'...you can do this! More water weight for me this morning due to ovulation...grrr...can't wait until it disappears!! |
Good Morning Ladies,
This morning I weighed in at 137.0. Just one day at a time, and I'm not going to give up for the life of me! Emme: Sorry to hear about the water weight. It will pass, just drink lots of water and watch sodium. PHAT: :hug:I'm very happy for you, and don't worry about the scale. You have made life changes and things are about to start becoming amazing for you! Good luck on your new job :) k15g15: Happy belated Birthday! fruitlady: thanks for the advice! Looks like you are doing amazing! Corinne: I'm sorry to be graphic again, but I want you to fully understand as well as everyone on here. I have read that some people experienced ramdom "oil discharge" and uncontrollable bowl movements. I have been lucky, and most of those people ate very fatty meals when taking and didn't follow the program. When I started my Alli, I first took a weekend to deprogram my body, I followed the diet before taking the pills to prepare me and then when I took my pills I was able to be near a rest room just in case. I had great results and no issues, but everyone is different. If you do decide to take it, prepare for it ahead of time so you won't have any bad experiences. And way to go on your goal!:carrot: AriesNV: Welcome  Ekicna: You can do it! keep it up you are doing amazing :) well ladies I have to get going back to work. I will check in later. Have a great day :) |
Thanks ladies! I don't know why I get lower in the middle of the day than I do when I first wake up. I've been holding off on weighing in until 9-10am just so my weight will be accurate. Yesterday morning, I got 110.8, yesterday afternoon, I got 110.2 after eating breakfast. I completely forgot to do cardio since DH came home earlier than expected and was ready for sleep as soon as he walked in.
Emme, jdonato, you ladies are so close to your goals! Keep pushing ahead! |
Emme - I love your quote!!
|
Thanks all! We need to stay strong & determined!!
Walked 32min in the heat, calories were 1592! It was a stupid mistake that caused me to go over limit, I was dipping strawberries in Fat Free Cool Whip, when I was done I added them up. I'm 392 over cause of it, that's crazy. It wasn't even worth it, i don't like it that much. Mindless munching is what it was! I made sure I was on plan the rest of the day, 1500's are my maintenance range, so hope i don't see a gain. Weight stayed the same, that's ok. Can't expect a loss everyday. |
Good morning chicks!!!
I'm still living in my calorie range. I walked on the treadmill but only did 20 minutes because I started to get dizzy. No sure what that was about because I had eaten dinner shortly before. So I will weigh in on Monday to see where my weight is and I'm hoping for a couple more pounds. I'm finally getting close to ONEderland. I'm hoping by next weekend I will be able to dance the ONEderland jig!! Fruitlady - I so understand the mindless munching. I think that is another reason I was stuck for 6 months. But we live and learn and keep moving. Ekicna - I wish I was lighter later. If I weigh in the afternoon I weigh 2-3 pounds more. JD - Keep going girlie and you will get there. Emme - At least you know where it's coming from. P H A T - Keep your head up and you will get there. If you find that you have had a meal that has a lot of salt wait a little while and eat something that is high in potassium. I was told that potassium eats away at the sodium. The weekend is here so let's have some fun in the sun or in the house if it's raining!! |
Blech, no loss this week. Up 1.8 since last Friday. How some people feel about their TOM is how I feel about ovulation. No fun. :( Hope everyone has a good Friday. I'm off today and I am going to help my husband build a second level to the deck, so that should keep me busy. :)
|
Good morning! I am now officially at goal! Actually, a little under at 119.6. :carrot: I'm a little shocked, it's such an odd feeling!
Thank you all for the congrats! I couldn't have done this without you ladies! I'm going to start upping my calories today- myplate says that in order to lose 1 pound a week (get down to 115, perhaps) I need to eat 1611 calories- which seems odd, but I'll try it out! I'd be happy to maintain between that and 1800 calories. Emme- I've heard of people gaining around ovulation. The only symptom I experience during that time (besides the, ehem, more graphic symptoms) is mittelschmerz. Good thing you can attribute the gain! Have fun building!! Jiggle- WOO-HOO! Onederland is so close! You got this! Odd about getting dizzy- maybe you needed more water? Have a great weekend! Fruit- I just bought some strawberries from a local farm and cannot wait to eat them! They are seriously the best strawberries I've ever tasted- and I make strawberry shortcake with them every year for my mother. Soooo good! I will definitely be going over cals! At least you chose a healthy snack to go over cals with! You're doing great! Ekicna- That is fantastic!!! Jdon- I don't mind the graphics- always good to know what to expect! Thank you for the info! And thanks! :carrot: You are doing so well, keep pushing! Phat- I love your positivity! Keep going! You're doing great! K15- HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY! I think birthday's are a perfect reason to go over calories!! |
Corinne ~ Congrats on reaching your goal!!! :cheer: WOO-HOO!!! :bravo: How awesome!!
Sidenote: I experience mittelschmerz at ovulation, too...sucks doesn't it?! |
:broc::carrot: I JUST MADE MY GOAL!!!!:dancer::dance:
OMG! I can't believe it! After 102 days, a couple of times I thought I wouldn't make it, I did!! I don't think I will adjust my goal but we will see. Now it's time to start :lifter::running::exercise::tread::ebike: |
Thanks for all the birthday wishes Phat, Ekicna, and Corinne Irene!
Ekicna- WAY TO GO!!! I'm so excited for you! jdonato- I appreciate all your infor on Alli. My sister bought it and has still not used it, but I tell her about your experiences to help get her going. Jiggle- I hope you have music perpared for the Onederland Jig!! I am the same as last week which I expected from my birthday and class reunion last week. I need to kick it up a notch...13 pounds to go..go..go! Thin Thoughts! |
:thanks: I did 30 minutes of :exercise: this morning and I will hopefully get another 30 minutes in tonight.
|
Ekicna- I'm so happy for you! Welcome to the world of maintenance!
Jiggle- thanks, if I ever make it to my goal, I'm doing the jig too!! PHAT- I agree with Jiggle, potassium helps. It helps balance & shed body fluids. The weekend it here, stay strong!! Walked 57min. & had 1200 calories even. No stupid mistakes today! I keep thinking of sweets, I gotta get this out of my mind. I almost baked something just so i could have some. Tomorrow is gonna be hard, too many tempting sweets when I go to the farmer's market & grocery store. Why does it have to be so hard! |
goal by 4th of July 4lbs:carrot:
|
Welcome glamgirl!!
|
Okay I weighed this evening, I had weighed on Wednesday after lunch so I thought nothing would come off this week, but to my amazement it said 176!! Woo Hoo!!!
|
Ekicna: Congrats!
k15g15: Woohoo! I'm not sure if I've checked in since I set my goal of 165. I'm currently at 167, so 165 is doable- time will tell! |
Thanks! I overate. Went over my calories by 57 and I am feeling stuffed. Hopefully, an hour of cardio and 45 minutes of strength training will keep me from seeing 113 tomorrow morning instead of 110. I will settle for 110.8 or even 111.0 after all the food I inhaled today.
|
Ekicna - You should be excited you made your goal, not stressed over 57 calories!!! If the scale is up today, it is just water weight. :) I know, I know, I do not like water weight either. Lets look at this logically - it takes 3500 extra calories to gain a lb of real weight and it takes burning 3500 calories to lose a lb. Your extra 57 calories will not have made you gain. In all the extra exercise you did yesterday you burned WAY more than the 57 calories.
|
Hey ladies.
I'm having another on plan day. I even got in my workout. So I should fall in at or under my calorie limit. SO EXCITED!!! K15g15 - Oh I got my music READY!! I'm working really hard to get to there too. Ekicna - :carrot::carrot: I'm dancing with you. I know you are happy. Glamgirl - Welcome and you have found a really fun group to hang with!! Ann - You can hit those two pounds and you can be another GOALIE!! Corinne - :carrot::carrot:I'm dancing with you too. This is exciting that you all are reaching these goals. My hubby and daugter are calling time for the second half of our day!! |
Down to 111lbs!!!
3lbs to go!! I over ate today, every time I get close to goal I blow it! Had 2560calories, I'll see a gain tomorrow. Back on plan! |
Great job fruitlady!
I weighed in at 110.8 this morning. DH and I are going to hit the gym tonight. |
Ekicna- thanks, your doing terrific! I was catching up to you with my weight(111lbs), but I did so bad on calories this weekend, I'm sure I'll gain a few pounds.
Another bad eating day, calories are a whopping 3447! It was one of those days I was craving peanut butter & yogurt. I made my own P.B, only 1 serving, but ate like 5 yogurts throughout the day, my healthier banana cake & healthy banana bread, plus my regular 3 meals. I just felt like eating what I was hungry for, it was all healthy food, but still didn't need to eat all that! I don't even want to step on the scale. I gotta get back on plan tomorrow!!! |
Doing a quick check in since I was MIA over the weekend. I'm gonna work very hard today to include some exercise today. I really want to be in Onederland by the time I get to my birthday in August.
