about two years ago i had went from 200 lbs to 170 and was comfotable with my weight but now i have gained back all the weight i lost and am now at 205 lbs being heavier then before. i was triggered to lose weight again when i noticed i was not excited for a shopping spree or waking up to dress up cute anymore which for me was a serious wake up call that i was not happy or comfortable with my weight gain...because getting dress was the best part of my day for me b4 and most importantly i can actually feel a change in my health and that sicks

What do you struggle with the most on this journey to health?
eating less and staying away from the junk i was raised around it and its hard for me to stay away uggh pathetic.

What are three things in the area of diet/exercise you need to improve?
cut calories down, excersise more, stay motivated

What are your fitness/health goals? It’s really not good for my heart, feet or knees to carry around this bag of fighting shoats that is my butt/gut. My goal is to have a balanced body, not one that is proportionately bottom heavy.

What was the "trigger" or incident that made you decide it was time to lose weight and become more fit? I saw myself sitting in a folding chair from behind. Ugh BEHIND being the scary part.

What do you struggle with the most on this journey to health? Laziness. I like veggies but I don’t want to prepare them. I like the idea of walking, but sitting down in front of the computer or TV or with a book is so much easier.

What are three things in the area of diet/exercise you need to improve? I need to eat way more veggies, cut out the evil “whites” (white flour, sugar). Get at least the minimum amount of exercise to keep my bones and joints working well together.

Favorite Music: I like just about any kind of music. My favorite band in the past year has been The Avett Brothers. Bob Dylan is my hero and I have seen him in concert 6 times in the last 4 years. The only music I don't like is rap, electronic and country but I even like some bands of those generes. In rap, I like Eminem and Jay-Z (saw him in concert last year - amazing!). Can't think of any electronic music bands I like. In country, I like Loretta Lynn, Kris Kristopherson, Merle Haggard, Oak Ridge Boys, Garth Brooks, Diamond Rio and a few others. It's mostly new county that I don't like. I also don't really like pop music - can't stand Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and that annoying little boy that everyone talks about. I attend the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival every year where I get to see hundreds of bands in a few days. It's like being in heaven.

What are your fitness/health goals?

I want to be able to run a marathon. I'm thinking of signing up for a 10K next October. That would give me 8 months to train for it.

What was the "trigger" or incident that made you decide it was time to lose weight and become more fit?

I booked a cruise for next November. It goes to Grand Cayman, Cozmel, Belize and Isla Roatan. My dream has been to try scuba diving. I would love to do it on this cruise but I don't know if I'll be in good enough shape. I would also be embarrassed to be in a swimsuit. I'm hoping to lose 40-50 lbs before the cruise.

What do you struggle with the most on this journey to health?

I always lose motivation when I eat healthy and workout yet the scale doesn't move. I get into the "why bother" mindset and end up falling off the wagon. I started this journey on January 15. Last week, I didn't lose any weight and this weekend, pigged out because I was so frustrated. I'm back on track now and have to remember that just because the scale doesn't move doesn't mean I'm not losing weight. Scales have been known to lie.

What are three things in the area of diet/exercise you need to improve?

1. I mean to exercise every day but I don't. I need to work on a morning routine that includes exercise. This would help make exercise a habit.

2. I can't figure out how many calories I need each day. I did 1200 calories/day the first two weeks and lost 10 lbs. The third week, I also ate 1200 calories/day and I gained weight (and it's not TOM). I don't know why I gained because I didn't eat anything salty before I weighed in. I feel like I'm eating too much food on 1200 calories and I struggle to get above 1,000 calories. I'm worried about eating more calories - if I'm struggling to eat 1,200 calories how am I going to get to 1,400.

3. I sit on my butt all day in a comfy recliner while I work on the laptop. I need to get up and walk around every hour.

I want to join a dating site and I want to look better than all the women on the site so I could get some dates.

What can you not wait to wear when you are at goal weight or size?

A cute sundress. I found the perfect dress a few years ago at Kohl's. It was a black and white polka dot dress that went just below the knees and it had a halter top. I don't think Kohl's sells it anymore but I would love to be able to wear a dress like that.

I want to wear a size 6, but I would also be ok with an 8. My super secret size goal that I don't think I can attain due to the size of my hips is a 4. I also want to run a marathon even though I hate to run.

What was the "trigger" or incident that made you decide it was time to lose weight and become more fit?
My size 14s were getting tight and I didn't want to go up another size. And I was really unhappy with how I had "let myself go" after getting married. I started Ideal Protein at 190 pounds at the end of June 2010 and met my goal of 150 and phased off in early September. I wanted to get to 145 or 140, but at that time I was sooo tired of eating such a restricted diet that I settled for 150/size 8-10. I must have missed carbs more than I thought because I went carb crazy and gained back 10 pounds since then. :fr: I have been re-triggered now by the fact that my new wardrobe is getting tight and I already got rid of all my bigger clothes. Plus, this time I want to get on a plan for exercise and eating that I can stick with the rest of my life.

What do you struggle with the most on this journey to health? Motivation! :kickbutt:

What are three things in the area of diet/exercise you need to improve?
Motivation! And overeating and eating when I'm not hungry (boredom, stress, etc.). :cbg:

Hi my name is Elena, I'm 37 y.o.
I am the classic yo-yo dieter and have tried numerous diets in the past including WW a hand full of times, Nutrisystem, Atkins, South Beach, and my own version of a heathly diet and exercise. I was at goal weight, under 130 lbs. for 2 years when I reduced a simplified carbs and only a 2-3 servings of complex carbs/day and I was biking 20-30 miles on the weekends and working out to Tae Bo and step aerobics. After a change in jobs, stress, and a lack of willingness to exercise, incorporated with wanting to eat a lot without exercise, I quickly gained my weight back, and some!

Over the course of the last year, I have increased my exercise, still not making all the right food choices and recently injured myself working out to P90X 2 wks. ago, and I'm currently out of commission to work out since wearing a boot for another 2 wks for a torn CFL @ my ankle. This injury of mine was a wake up call. I realized that my excess weight of 50lbs.+ must have played a factor in my injury. I'm fortunate enough to have not broken any bones and do not require surgery.

All I can think is "my poor body having lug around this much weight is so unhealthy." I have had enough of being fat and obese. I truely want to make this committment to myself, so that I can live longer and be healthier and stronger. I will need your IP expertise, experience, and support.

What was the "trigger" or incident that made you decide it was time to lose weight and become more fit? Travelling to Europe and observing the difference in lifestyle and food habits. My eating habits are (were) out of control.

What do you struggle with the most on this journey to health? Emotional eating. I often use food as a way to reward myself for a job well done or to comfort myself when things do not go as I'd planned. I need to get out of that loop.

What are three things in the area of diet/exercise you need to improve? Making good choices when I'm dining out, cutting back the empty calories of craft beer (I feel confident this is where I've gained a lot of weight in the last year or two), and finding some sort of exercise I enjoy (I love walking, but I'd like to look into yoga or pilates).

Favorite Exercise/Workouts: Gardening/Landscaping is my favorite exercise. I really don't like working out at all. I started an exercise routine this winter because I knew that a majority of my weight issue stemmed from being so sedentary during the snowy months. I have been using Jillian Michael's "30 Day Shred" and "Yoga Meltdown" and they serve the purpose of burning calories and getting me ready for gardening season. As soon as Spring gets here though, I will be working out by working outside.

What are your fitness/health goals? One of my goals is to be able to put a full day's work in out in my gardens and actually be able to move the next day. Another is to be able to go up a flight of stairs at a decent pace and not be winded by the time I reach the top.

What was the "trigger" or incident that made you decide it was time to lose weight and become more fit? Realizing that my son is graduating from high school this June and I didn't want to have to look back at all the pictures and think - "God I looked terrible".

What do you struggle with the most on this journey to health? I have a hard time staying away from sweets.

Trigger has been for awhile; Paxil made me gain over 50 pounds in 2 years, but doctor didn't know until over 50#!! So, with 20# due to quitting smoking plus the 50+# Paxil, I need to lose about 50-55# now. Slowly, I'm losing.

What do you struggle with the most on this journey to health? Crunchy/salty snacks is my downfall. I really don't eat alot of food/day. I don't eat alot of sugar/bread. It's the potato chips/doritos/cheetos that get me every time. Need to find better snacks.

I got married and saw my wedding video. :( I stood on the scales at 285 just after my honeymoon on Thanksgiving with my mom and I just started crying. I had reached the same BMI as my mom and I was only 19.

What do you struggle with the most on this journey to health? Eating enough calories and drinking enough water. I am currently trying to forget about the number and work on making sure I am healthy and not hurting myself any more as I have been for the last several months.

What are your fitness/health goals?
To be slim, unsure of the weight that would be, but I want firm arms and few bulges. Maybe 150?

What was the "trigger" or incident that made you decide it was time to lose weight and become more fit?
Nearly reaching 300lbs and possibly losing a chance at a great relationship because of my weight.

What do you struggle with the most on this journey to health?
Exercise, portion control, actually feeling like I've lost 80lbs...I feel as fat as I ever have.

What are three things in the area of diet/exercise you need to improve?
Working out every day, portion control, pushing myself in exercise.

Hm...not many people lol! Everyone in my office is on a diet or getting WLS, so...I look like them.

What can you not wait to wear when you are at goal weight or size?
SHORT SLEEVES! I haven't worn them since I was 14. Don't even get me started about bathing suits :\

What are your fitness/health goals? I want to be healthier! Run for 1 mile straight and go up my five flights of stairs without getting out of breath and panting like a dog!

What was the "trigger" or incident that made you decide it was time to lose weight and become more fit? My good friend from childhood, who was always obese, passed away the other week. It made me realize that I needed to get off my duff, quit making excuses, and get RID of this weight once and for all!

What do you struggle with the most on this journey to health? Feeling that the journey to my goal weight will take forever and I might as well just give up now. That and my LOVE of fooooood!

What are three things in the area of diet/exercise you need to improve? Stop making excuses and just exercise, stop binge eating, and don't get complacent when I see a small loss!

What can you not wait to wear when you are at goal weight or size? Anything that is not a size 20! Below a size 14 would be a dream!

What do you struggle with the most on this journey to health? not smoking in place of eating

What are three things in the area of diet/exercise you need to improve? exercise more, don't skip meals because I'm bored with choices and really get that this is a lifestyle change.

What was the "trigger" or incident that made you decide it was time to lose weight and become more fit? I just got back from Florida and I felt like a bloated, capri-not-shorts-wearin' beached whale the whole time. It wasn't pretty. At all.

What do you struggle with the most on this journey to health? Planning. I know what to do and how to do it, but if I don't plan ahead, I won't do it. I have to plan my menu, shop, and prep my meals on Sunday or I'm messed up all week.

What are three things in the area of diet/exercise you need to improve? Sticking with it and making time for myself to do what's good for me.

(Evil motivation) Who do you want to look better than? Nobody really, I am just looking forward to unleashing a shock and awe campaigne upon those at work and on the public at large....
