Hi there! I joined awhile ago but I'm just now motivated and ready to finally lose all this weight I've packed on! Just started on Thursday (two days ago.)
I'm restricting my calories to about 1400/day, trying to eat about 5 times throughout the day. The goal was 6 or 7, but I have an unorthodox schedule (night shift) so it's been working out to more like 5.
- 1 egg in the morning. Sometimes with red pepper!
- Doing lots of veggies, especially cucs, carrots and celery with my favorite stand-by of red pepper hummus (gotta get that fat
)
- a banana, some grapefruit when I can stand it (that metallic tang is just UGH), and/or blueberries
- homemade granola (from my local store -- I certainly didn't home-make it, hehe)
- lean fish (tilapia), chicken breast or turkey breast, for about 2 meals in the day
...aaaand I might forego a snack for a liiittle steak fajita (sans bread!) once in a while. Or maybe have some salmon instead of tilapia. Or shrimp.
I'm drinking about 3L of water a day. I do love water, that part's easy.
I kind of hate salads.

I'm just so sick of them, they scream fat fat fat! to me. A sad little bowl with leaves in it. But I did buy romaine, spinach, i have my cucs and carrots, and a low calorie asian sesame dressing I might sprinkle on (IMO, the serving size on dressings is always twice as big as it oughta be, at least!)
The real challenge will be cooking the broccoli, cauliflower, and asparagus in the fridge.

Those three are like the axis of evil from my childhood!
Toughest bit... is keeping the sodium down. And turning down food. Man, everyone wants you to eat! I always thought my metabolism was a bit crap, but lately I'm thinking it's been saintly and I've just been eating 3000 cals/day!!
Oh, and keeping my vices meaty. Really missing those Wheat Thins and tandoori naan and cheddar broccoli pasta right now!
I bought a scale two days ago and weighed in at 175. Now it says 172!

And it's TOM so some water weight's probably gonna go in a few days!

So excited to be doing this! 3FC is always a great, motivating read, too. Excited to be here in Calorie Counters!
