My daily calories are about 1500. And that has been totally fine for me except a few days a month when I'm starting my period I'm a lot hungrier. I have a pretty balanced diet of whole grain high fibers, fruits, veggies, small amounts of nuts, cheeses and olive oil. And for me lots of protein is good.

So yes normally I plan for eating a bit more on these days. I just didn't plan well and didn't happen to have some good options last night. And dang i was feeling hormonal and happened to wake up today with a cold. So it was a double whammy. And normally I don't have candy in the house it just happened to be left over from the holidays.

Normally I don't keep it in the house because I have a hard time saying no especially around TOM. But I'm getting much better at stopping and thinking a out what I eat instead of blindly reaching for it.

Thank you so much for your replies.

Oh yes! I do a "cheat day" once a week. This way I have something to look forward to at the end of the week, & I don't feel deprived because I know I can eat yummies once a week. I think it helps, like a PP said, to keep your body from getting in a rut. I used to calorie cycle before I had my daughter & that helped a lot too. This is the same just a whole day of yummies & then right back to it.

I stand corrected. Let me re-phrase. Cravings CAN BE your body's way of telling you it needs a certain nutrient.

Thanks for the links...it did annoy me that I actually got sucked into buying FAT FREE cream cheese...uggghhh...didn't realize it had the same calorie count! Well, at least that's the only myth I bought into..LOL!

Oh, and yes I do track everything but I haven't tracked it with regards to emotions.

Planning for a few higher days, especially around TOM sounds like it would be helpful for me.
