Help quick! Going out to eat...

  • Www.dillonsirishpub.com. What would you get and what would estimate the calories would be in it? You can even suggest things to leave off to cut calories. I'm going tonight and wanna make a good choice. Please help! (note I don't do cheese so that would be left off and so would any salad dressing, I use vinegar)

    Thanks!
  • Well, they're in LA, so actually, healthy options are pretty abundant.

They have a protein plate (grilled chicken breast, brown rice, veggie) that might be boring, but would be on plan.

They have some appetizers that'd be pretty good - Lettuce wraps (may be high in sodium), shrimp cocktail (my personal favorite appetizer choice...feels decadent but so low cal and solid protein).

Even the sandwiches could be good - I'd probably eat with only half of the bread (I'm the queen of the open-faced restaurant sandwich...no one needs so much bread! How can you even fit it all in your mouth?) and opt for a side salad.
  • I'd go for the Protein plate.
The chicken may be around 200-250 calories (no skin about 5 ounces)
The rice is maybe around 220 calories per cup
The spinich is 7 calories or asparagus is 27 calories per cup but I would ask how it is cooked as butter can add a ton of calories.
  • I went with the portabello, red pepper, tomato, spinach, onion sandwhich on a bun with a side salad with lettuce, tomato, carrots and basalmic vinegar.

I left off the avocado, and took off the cheese.
I estimated 667 calories for the meal, I added in a tbsp of oil, and 1/2 tbsp butter and a bit for the cheese I tried. Sound about right?
