Default Setting "Deficit"

I am going to start incorporating working out into my daily routine. How did you go about setting your deficit? Is there a recommended method/ formula? I am aiming to eat about 1200 calories a day (see stats on the side) and I'm afraid that if I'm not conscious about how many calories I'm burning, I may burn too many and set my body into starvation mode. Do you eat more on the days you're going to workout?

Any advice is MUCHLY appreciated. :-)

I work out 5-6 days a week. I went about my CCing backwards. I make sure that I eat healthy (with an occasional treat), and I eat enough so that I am not hungry. I typically end up eating an average of about 1550 cals a day and I am currently losing slightly faster than recomended.

So if you want to try to set your number the way I did, just start CCing and record everything. When I am recording everything, it helps me to make better choices...especially when I start to think is this candy bar really worth the 30 min of exercising it would take to burn off the calories? Usually the answer is no, and if the answer is yes then it is one of my rare treats.

Thanks, Envelope! I have only been cc-ing a week and I write down everything- what I eat, what time I eat, what time I get up and go to sleep, how much water I am drinking- in hopes that I can really start to "learn" what my body needs. :-)
