Default I Am Loving Calorie Counting!

I am a beginner on my calorie counting, and I am on my third week and I feel absolutely wonderful! It has definately gotten easier to stay within my daily calorie goals. I have finally figured out that I usually don't ever eat a whole lot, I just eat the wrong foods!! Yeah common sense it seems. I went to IHOP this morning and came out great, and while I was looking up my calorie intake I also looked up what I used to eat which is the country fried steak with eggs. It was 1535 calories!!!! I have not ate over that many in a day for the past 3 weeks!! Yea I know what I am overweight!! This site really help tho seeing everyone elses progress.....

2 weeks down 40 to go before goal date!!!!!!

I love calorie counting also. It works! My old self would have ordered the Country Fried Steak. Now if I could just get myself to exercise on a regular schedule.

That's great that you are doing well. I think I remained in fast food shock for the first month because I started looking up favorite foods and really paying attention to nutrition. Some of the calories are outrageous. I swear the restaurant industry is trying to kill us all LOL. I also had that realization "no wonder I am fat!" because of the kinds of foods I was eating rather than the amount. It can be really eye opening. I still have the occasional shock when I look up a new item.

I Jiggle...First of all, love the dog!!! I have one just like your puppy....aren't they the sweetest?

About exercise, I discoverd the exercise ticker on this site (I am too new to have one yet tho) and that has really motivated me. I set my goal as 750 for July...since I just started my plan yesterday. I worked in my yard 30 minutes yesterday and then took my golden for a 20 minute walk and I am now down to 700 minutes for July. Just the thing to motivate me Try it!! It was so wonderful not to try to walk a mile in a certain number of minutes..blah...blah.... I just did it, you know?

Hang in there.

I, too, like calorie counting. It has helped me more than other approaches.

Charmtime, thanks for the posting about the exercise ticker. I'll look for it.

Thanks for the tip charmtime. I will try that. Goldens are wonderful. This one loves to go in the river. My plans are to start walking our dogs every morning before it gets to hot. Thanks for the encouragement.

Good choice! I love calorie counting too. I love knowing I have the freedom to eat what I want - as long as I have normal servings.

I Jiggle....your golden looks so much like mine. I just took him for a walk. He is a great exercise buddy. He is our first dog and I had no idea they could be so sweet and smart. It is such a thrill to tell him something and watch him do it...he has quite a few words that he understands (unless there are other people around and then he tends to get confused).

Calorie counting is the only thing that has worked well for me, because I can really eat whatever, as long as I count it. In doing this you also learn that you can have much more to eat if you use those calories wisely and make healthy choices!

I've lost ALL of my weight while doing WW, but I'm tired of doing points. I've got the points down pat, so I'll still use them as a guideline when I'm grocery shopping or whatever (is this worth it?), but I'm interested to see my progress with deficits for working out and such.
