I made room today for real mac and cheese. Saved a whole 450 calories for it. If I didn't know better I'd think I have food poisoning I'm so miserable. My body just doesn't like the fat I think.
one thing I can say, regular kraft macaroni and cheese makes me miserable, but some of the more 'natural' (if you can say macaroni and cheese and natural in the same sentence!) brands like annie's, don't bother me. I've looked and there is a difference in ingredients, maybe it would help.
Or maybe it's just your bodies way of convincing you to eat healthier.
I eat basically the same foods everyday, so any new foods that I add have to be in tiny portions until I get use to them. Some foods get me more than others, usually when I have been away from wheat for a long time, having any gives me digestive trouble. Hope you feel better soon!
I have found that anytime I leave room for "bad foods" as I call them my body feels bad afterwards. I feel sluggish and just overly bloated. I don't like that feeling at all..and the next morning I usually have tummy troubles.
No wheat allergy that I know of Wheat is still a part of my daily diet. I'm pretty sure it was the massive amount of fat in that dish. Lots of real full fat cheeses, butter, and heavy cream. There was more fat in the serving I had.. than I normally eat in a week. I'm feeling a bit better this morning but last night I wanted to vomit I felt so bad.
Even when I make something like Mac n cheese, I make it a lot lighter than I used to. Less cheese sauce for the amount of pasta and I use skim milk and light cream cheese (makes it thick and creamy without cream), just a little butter (although I do use full fat cheddar because I use hormone free cheese and they dont make it in 2%)
I can not tolerate really rich foods. I do make room in my diet for a small piece of chocolate almost daily and pizza about once a week, but I normally eat fairly high in fat (~35%). I just normally eat high in good fats.
Also if you do make it for your family again, instead of 450 cals of mac n cheese, maybe eat a 1/2 portion with a big pile of veggies to help carry the fat out of your body.

It could very well be the fat. I had been doing Atkins for a while but I am finding that all the fat in the diet is not sitting very well with me anymore and I am craving lower fat foods.
I have done that too. I picked up a delicious looking apple raspberry crisp from a farmer's market on a whim a couple weeks ago. I was hungry and made a bad choice I saved 300 calories so I could have a nice piece and it did taste good but I felt so sick afterward. I have been off sugar and refined carbs for awhile. It hit me so hard I had to have a nap! I learned from that though
Treats may make me feel a bit worse, but unless I really go overboard, I never get miserable like I hear so many people say. If I did I think it might be helpful!
That's happened to me.Hubby stopped by Jack's one night,so I cut back all day.Minutes after I ate I was in the bathroom.Thought my insides were coming out!it was like a 800 caorie laxative!Since I cut out my fried foods,if I slip & eat something fried it does the same thing to me.
I know when I start eating well, greasy foods have a different effect on my body. I love onion rings but even if I have a few in moderation my stomach isn't all that happy. It's not even a matter of guilt anymore, I just don't feel well afterwards.
But the two treats I ADORE and refuse to live without are a good brickoven pizza and real ice cream on occasion. I make room for them, don't go crazy and I appreciate every single bite:-). I also switched to chocolate with a higher cocoa content...60-70%, more antioxidents so I feel I'm indulging but not being as naughty. I tried the 80% but it was too bitter for me.
