I know it's different for everyone, but one reason I do CC is because I build a snack into my schedule for after dinner. I usually eat 100 cal pack popcorn; sf/ff pudding or a skinny cow ice cream. I always leave an extra 100-ish calories at the end of my day for this built in treat.
I KNOW that one of the reasons I'm being successful this time around is because I've given up that all or nothing; some foods are bad foods mentality. I know that if I want to "spend" my calories on it, I can have it.
