What Did You Have For Breakfast?

Hi everyone! I am new here and just wanted to know some breakfast ideas.......

ThicknPretty 02-02-2010 10:14 AM

I had....

1 Jimmy Dean turkey sausage (45 calories) on a 100 calorie multi grain english muffin and a glass of milk (didn't measure...oops). I did pretty good, but it wasn't the most enthralling breakfast ever....

minijaxgrl 02-02-2010 10:31 AM

I am making french toast for breakfast. Recipe on hungrygirl.com. For 3 pieces WITH syrup (sugar free of course) is about 200 calories. Mmmmm...

MakingSkinny 02-02-2010 10:33 AM

I had cereal with skim milk, which is what I have almost every morning for breakfast. I love cereal with milk, I could happily eat it 3 meals a day.

mayness 02-02-2010 10:58 AM

I'm a cereal lover, too! I've been eating the Special K Protein Plus, which I find quite filling.

thundahthighs 02-02-2010 11:49 AM

I am in love with a whole grain frozen waffle with 1 TBSP natural peanut butter and a TABLESPOON of honey to cap it off. It's about 200 calories, sticks to my ribs, and feels like a total cheat, but fits my plan great. I also like oatmeal with honey. Hi, I am a honey addict. :D

Teresa2010 02-02-2010 12:03 PM

I had:

1 slice of whole wheat bread with 1 tbsp of peanut butter
A cup of peppermint tea with 1 tsp Splenda

What Did You Have For Breakfast?

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day so I make sure to eat something that is nutritious and low on calories (Since I'm trying to lose some weight). I've been using Bistro MD diet meals and they send the food to my door. The breakfast items that they've been sending me are - Protein Bagel served with cream cheese, English muffin with a side of Turkey Sausage and Egg Whites, veggie sausage patty, Buckwheat Berry Pancakes served with a blueberry and strawberry compote and turkey sausage links. I have lost alot of weight with Bistro meals. They have a lot of variety, check out their menu if you're interested.

Firecracker777 02-05-2010 12:29 PM

today i had oatmeal (160 c) and a special k bar (90c)

kristen10 02-05-2010 01:55 PM

I had 1/2 cup of Quaker 1-minute Oatmeal (150 cal) made with 1 cup of 2% milk (130 cal) (wish I had skim, but that's what I get for sending the boyfriend to do the shopping!), topped with a banana (130 cal) and a dusting of light brown sugar (approx 100 cal)

Total- 510

Not the BEST (I like to stay around 300-400), but a) it is delicious! and b) really keeps me going all morning, and on into the day. I can eat a small lunch and still feel like the oatmeal is working for me! I cannot recommend enough - I have just recently discovered the beauty of the big Quaker cylinder and I am loving how I can customize it each day. Throw in some frozen fruit and it is warmed up and ready to eat in only a few minutes. Throw in fresh fruit. Maple syrup, brown sugar, cinnamon, the possibilities are endless!

beachbabe8406 02-05-2010 02:04 PM

This morning I got to work and realized I had completely forgotten to eat breakfast! Luckily I had some money so I hit the vending machine. First I bought some poptarts thinking I would splurge a little since it is Friday. However, I looked at the back and there are 410 calories in poptarts! So then I went back to my purse and bought a Nature Valley granola bar which was 180 calories. I had some yogurt mid-morning too, but I was still starving for lunch.

Usually I have 1 serving of Eggbeaters with either toast with 1tsp reduced fat PB and 1tsp sugar free jelly. Or I will have dry cereal instead of toast. I eat at least 5-6 times a day so my meals tend to be small.

AutumnSky 02-09-2010 11:17 AM

i had a bowl of quaker hazelnut latte oatmeal with skim milk and a banana, and coffee with skim milk and 2 splenda. it was good, but i need to stick with breakfasts that have high protein and less sugar.. i was hungry shortly therafter! can't wait for lunch! hehe

Kristi78 02-09-2010 11:51 AM

High fiber oatmeal, blueberries, low fat cheese stick and coffee= 300 calories.

Love my oatmeal!

CD3 02-09-2010 10:12 PM

I tried out a recipe I found on here yesterday for High Protein Pancakes. It was delicious! And quick & easy ;-)

1/2 C oatmeal
1/2 C cottage cheese
3 egg whites
tsp of vanilla
dash of cinnamon

Mix it up and cook in pan for a couple minutes. The recipe said to blend it & that would probably make them smoother but my blender died :-(
I microwaved a cup of frozen blueberries and topped of the pancakes with them.

Thanks to whomever I got this one from - it'll be a regular at my house!

Beverlyjoy 02-10-2010 09:46 AM

oatmeal cooked with almond butter, 1/2 banana - then add cinnomon and skim milk - depending on your proportions calories vary. Mine was about 250.

Tastes like oatmeal, banana nut bread.

cfmama 02-10-2010 03:28 PM

I had two packs of reduced sugar peaches and cream oatmeal and 1/2 a large banana.

SouthLake 02-10-2010 03:41 PM

So today was a bigger breakfast day for me...
2 corn tortillas (80) 2 eggs (140) scrambled with 1/4 c lowfat shredded cheese(80), 1 eating right strawberry yogurt (60) and 2 cuties (80) for a total of 440.

yesterday I had 2 eggs scrambled with 1/2 c broccoli and 1/2 serving lf cheese with a blueberry muffin (from a just add water mix) and 2 cuties

i also do homemade egg mcmuffins frequently- english muffin with 1/2 serving of lf cheese, an egg, 1 slice center cooked bacon. served with cuties and an eating right yogurt and you're right at 400 calories.

I keep most of my breakfasts at 400, for an 1800 total day.

melissa78 02-10-2010 08:30 PM

A smoothie made with 1 banana, 2/3 cup lowfat strawberry yogurt and 1/2 cup skim milk. (300 calories) Put it in a travel coffee cup and seemed to fool myself into not wanting a caffinated coffee with 3 teaspoons sugar and 3 teaspoons flavored creamer!

The last couple mornings I had been having 2 nutrigrain waffles with a teaspoon of strawberry preserves on each one but that simply was not making it to lunch for me!
