I'm not brand new, but haven't been at this too long either (well, at least THIS time!). I began on 11/2, lost 10 lbs in Nov and Dec, and now have lost just 1.5 lbs since 1/1. ugh! I have done well sticking to my plan and just try to have faith that the scale will reflect that at some point HOPEFULLY SOON!!!!

Ok, I haven't done so great this weekend. Not terrible, just not great. We had to stay at my parents this weekend and they have NO healthy food in their house.

So, tomorrow it is back to the game full force.

I'm starting! This is probably the first time I've ever counted calories, and so many things are just....amazing to me. I checked out the box of Mac n Cheese I was making for hubby and DD as part of their dinner - HOLY COW! No wonder I couldn't lose weight even by following portions, when one serving was 400 calories!

I picked up a bunch of food yesterday, and stuck to my plan and felt pretty darn good!

I am on week 2. I have been doing this for 2 weeks and have lost NOTHING! Although I did start a kettlebell workout @ the same time and definately feel muscles where there were none before. So I am going to continue @ 1500 calories for 1 more week and if still no loss, I guess I need to figure out what to do next.

I weighed in this morning and lost .6 pounds. HaHa! I am not upset though since I know that I didn't eat right most of the weekend. I am just happy that I didn't gain anything.

For those of you that are exercising a good bit along with the calorie counter I would suggest ignoring the scale most of the time. I actually threw mine out completely because it would get me discouraged. I found that using a tape measure around my tummy made me feel worlds better since muscle weighs more than fat. Now I just weigh in once a month at my doctor's office when I go for my asthma refills. *crinkles nose* And I measure myself every two weeks.

I want in on this too!

I started last Monday. I know I'm supposed to stay around 1200, but most of last week I was below (between 800-1000). The first couple of days weren't so hard, but after that I was just like "what the **** can I eat now" because I was tired of eating like a rabbit. I'll have to find some tasty recipes to try out.

I would like to join! I'm no new to the site, I lost 12 pounds doing WW last year but didn't continue with it. I love their recipes so I'm planning on counting calories and use the WW recipes since I can feed my family as well and they are so good that my husband likes them hehe.

I'm planning on 1,500 calories a day since I'm doing exercise 5-6 times a week, let's see how that works. I signed on Fit Day as well.

Let's do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi All,

Just checking in today. Calorie counting is going great! I have planned my eating all week. I am eat a good breakfast (wheat toast, 1 tb nutella, scrambled egg and juice) that is about 400 calories. I use to only eat about 150 to 200 calories but the increase in morning calories has kept the hunger at bay. I use to be so hungry around 10 am. Now, 12 comes around and I can wait. It seems I have been able to skip snacks too and not miss them. Woo hoo!

Hello, I'm new to this too. I'm not new to dieting of course though. Can't remember what day I joined up. I hadn't logged back in really, had gotten discouraged. Partly because I fell off my strict exercise schedule, partly because my new scale is a bummer. I went to digital, and it turns out I'm 250lbs still by it's measures!! I miss my old school scale! Eh... back to the drawing board. Today it is a strict calorie limitation...makes me cranky

Just starting AGAIN!!! My husband does WW so I do WW and calorie counting. It really is the same. Every night I check points and calories...every point is approx. 57 calories so ...DH doesn't know I'm keeping track of calories. I will say that I think WW had me at far too high calories...I was supposed to be at 31 points (plus 35 flex weekly) and I wasn't losing. So after I ran some numbers...that's about 1767 daily calories a day...plus veggies count as 0 on WW but in Calorie counting world, they count, of course so add another 200 or so to that daily number and I was looking at 1967. Then of course the 35 weeklys (35x57/7) that's an average of 287 calories per day on top of that so....2254 was my approximate caloire level while on WW. So, I dropped to 28 average points (for my husbands sake) and that is about 1596 calories per day. Some days I'll go higher, others lower but that's the average. I am going to try this for a month and see if it's not better. I'm not sure why I keep falling off the wagon so early in my weight loss....I got down to 147 in 2005 and 2006 and quickly gained it back in 2007 and 2008. UGH!! It is helping to have my husband also eating healthy.

Hey I'm restarting...I got down from 256 to about 235 and then life hit me. Hard. But my "tests" are over and I am ready to start exercising my "willpower muscle" again. I LOVE calorie counting, it allows me to eat the things I love, in moderation, and make plans and life changes that I can stick with. I also lost the most weight with calorie counting, and I am so ready to start feeling good again.

I'm definitely in. Started working in January, and since then I gained about 6 pounds, so I'm @ 161.

I force myself to keep my ticker where it's at so that I'm motivated to lose. It's also very hard to keep to a healthy diet when I'm living with family who are well...'normal' weight.

I'm glad to be a part of this community though. It really keeps my mind focused on my goals we can do this!
