The entire story of my weight gain from 165 to 193 pounds in about 18 months could be summed up in 3 words: "mindless eating" + "denial".
With that in mind, I write down everything that I eat. I know that if I stop writing it down, I will start lying to myself. It sounds as if you were falling into that same pattern. However, you were self-aware enough to realize what was happening and by posting it here, you are saying you are ready to stop. Plus there has been some really good responses to your post.
So I have a feeling that those Hershey's treats are already less of a problem for you.
