Well, my ankle is sprained, but I'm not going to let that stop me! Still allowed to exercise. Got me a little ankle brace with a "designer" carrying case, heehee! Good thing it wasn't something worse.
Here I am, writing at 4 a.m. again... and I've already gotten a bit of exercise! 15 minutes kickboxing 25 minutes Wii Sports Dance Bowling 10 minutes Strength Training I know, a little crazy to start at 3:30 in the morning or whatever... but I have bad insomnia. Plus, I workout in the living room and my dad wakes up at 5 a.m. and comes in there to start watching television. Oh yeah, I'm down to 136.0 lbs.! Yay me! :carrot: MrsLovett |

Morning everyone.
Killer bike ride yesterday, I seriously almost fainted after the first hill. Next time I'll wear my HRM to make sure I don't do that again. I'm positive I was at MHR, one more beat and I would have be gone.:( Plans for today are a walk this morning and dancing tonight. That's it. Oh, and I'm going to try to buy the 30 day Shred DVD and see how that goes. So many good reviews. Only 0.2 lbs lost on the scale...but I'm going to go track that right now...lol |

Just checking in~Not much results so far But staying plan ~as always.
I will see the results soon. I have worked hard all day so hopefully that shows on the scale soon. ALOT OF NEW PEOPLE TO SAY "HELLO" TOO. HIYA EVERYONE! Hope everyone has great success This challenge. GOODLUCK |
This challenge looks perfect for me, it's just what I need right now. I'm seeing an old friend on labour day and we have plans for jean shopping.
1) train daily and control stress levels. I really got into running in Jan but hurt my knee (while dog walking, not running) and am working on rehabbing it. Got a steroid injection in it a few weeks ago and will have an MRI next month. I now have to ok to train again, just no tennis. 2) start P90X- I have the DVDs and need to make the commitment to do it, so consider this the official line in the sand. I'm doing it. 3) eat a balanced healthy diet, between 1500 and 1600 calories daily. I'm not setting a weight or size goal, I have stayed pretty stable the past 6 months. I'll just try to live a healthy lifestyle and let the rest take care of itself. |
Count me in since that's my 33rd birthday. I hope it's also my last fat birthday. I'm new to calorie counting as it's the only thing I haven't tried. So my goal is to lose 20 lbs and learn how to count calories, so any suggestions are appreciated. My goal is also to exercise 3-4 days/week.

Mom23Boys -
My top advice for calorie counting - keep a food journal and be sure to track every morsel you eat. Good luck. Hugs Michelle |
I got a weight training session and 35 minute cardio in today after work. I was tired, but knowing that I committed to this challenge is what got me working out!
|
WOW~10 p.m. Added extra exercise in today~I hope to see some good results soon ~I figured I would add in some different extras at least 3 times a week.Since I have severe asthma I have to take it slow on how much I add until I get use to it. I am use to my walking now So I am ready for more stuff and ready to get these other 40 some more lbs off to get to my ultimate goal!
I wanna get to 179 or below by labor day and I am gonna work HARD TRYING Regardless if I actually do or not. I am having a ~hyper about LOSING WEIGHT MOMENT ~SO bear with me LOL Anyways ~I figure since I quit smoking cigs over a year ago after 19 years of it. ~plus I have lost 67.5 lbs~ & my doctor told me lungs sounded like a 20 year olds last months visit~ THAT I gotta get more exercising in~I CAN DO IT. (oh for those who do not know I may look 20's hahahaha~but I am actually 33!) P.s. To those not use to me I was being goofy~I know I look My age Most days! hahahaha~but I feel like I am in my 20's Today so I was having a good laugh with that comment above~i actually have a daughter that is 16~WOW~ I hope everyone is having a great week. |
Congrats on quitting smoking! I was a dedicated 2 pack a day smoker for 21 years and I been quit cold turkey for going on 9 months now and I couldn't be happier about it :D

I quit cold turkey in November 08 (but who's keeping track, right?) I figure if I can do that, I can lose this weight.

Woo!! Congrats :D  |
I'd like to join in.. my goals for CC Labor Day include reaching 145 #. Currently I am 158 and need to figure out calories needed to reach that goal. Any suggestions? I don't currently count calories explicitly, but think I am too high since I haven't lost any weight since the fall. I think it is somewhere around 1800-2000. I go to the gym about 3 times a week, but probably need to change that up.
Thanks for any help on the calories! terry |
Congrats to those who quit smoking!!! :carrot: My parents quit smoking several years ago. Well, my dad still smokes cigars actually. I heard somewhere that's just as bad as cigarettes, though he insists it's not??? I could be wrong. He smokes them around the kids some times (my nieces) and I don't think that's cool. On at least one occasion, my niece Julia has picked up a stick off the ground or something, put one end to her mouth, and "pretended to be like Pop-pop" :( As for myself, I've had second hand smoke health issues thanks to my parents, but have never picked up a cigarette myself! Heck, I have trouble lighting a lighter (I use them to light my incense)! I guess it's a good thing. Anyway, good job on quitting smoking!
I actually gained a pound today :( Not time to change my ticker just yet... I'll wait another day and see what the scale says. Only exercised about 90 minutes yesterday. 60 minutes of it was more heavy/moderate and 30 was kinda walking, so I guess it was light-ish. Oh! My ankle is sprained. It's in a brace. The thing is a pain! It actually looks Goth. The brand name is "Darco", it's black, has a spider web design on it... you'd have to see it. it's definitely Goth. My mom's said so twice :D I used to be Goth... hehe, now I've turned into a "girly girl"... when did that happen? Now I'm all pink and sparkly! I don't know when I made this transformation :) Pale |
Did well yesterday, had a high exercise day and ate well. Dancing in the evening always burns a lot of calories.
I had my morning walk, and will go out for lunch in a bit with friends, and I already plan on having a burger and fries and enjoying every bit of it. I might try the 30 day shred video for the first time this afternoon. |
Alright -
I ♥ Jillian and I love the 30 Day Shred :). Have fun with it and good luck  |

I'm getting really really frustrated!!!! Last Friday morning, I was so excited to see the scale read 191.8!!!! It's so freaking close to being in the 180's!!!! 4th of July meant going to a friend's party, where I consumed much more alcohol than I have in a LONG time!!! Eating wasn't too off though....just lots of empty alcohol calories. The next morning I almost cried when the scale had jumped up to 199.8!!!!!
I have been going to the gym religiously since Monday morning, working out longer than normal, and the scale had moved down bit by bit, but it's still reading 195.2. I was at 195 for like 2 months and had FINALLY gotten out of that funk. I can't be back there again. GRRRR!!! |

2 more lbs!!! its funny, when i was 258, i would look in the mirror and convince mysel that i looked ok....now that ive lost a little i think i look a little more closely and im not liking what i see...i know what i look like at 180 or 185 and i wont be satisfied til i get there...chele dont worry so much about that scale if you know youre doing the right thing...going to tahoe today so i probably wont be checking in til tue or wed....have a great weekend everyone

Great job everyone so far!! :carrot:
Update on me.... *130lbs (I may be happy with 135, however. Dh thinks 130 may be to "skinny", so we'll see what I look like at 135, I have a very small frame, so think 130 is good, but who knows! Haven't been that for a while..) Still my goal... *strength training/toning 5x week (15-20 min sessions) Just started this today.. :o But now i'm planning on doing *something* weight/toning related at least 5x week! *Keep on exercising daily. (Any kind of exercise!!) I'm running for 35 minutes a day... I may do this 3-4x week, and an exercise DVD a couple times a week too... *Keep on with healthy & clean eating. Going well.. i've upped my calorie level, so far, so good I think... Lost 1 1/2lbs since we started this challenge.. hoping that picks up though... i'm not usually a 'slow' loser... guess we'll see! ;) |
Hey peeps!
My internet was down yesterday for the whole day, and it looks like I missed a LOT! Will just jump in here, and not go mental trying to catch up. :dizzy: I did catch up on reading all the posts, though, and want to say :welcome: to all our new challengers! Exercise is done, heavy deadlifts today. :carrot: I needed a break from all the killer workouts this week, so I was glad for the change. Tomorrow will be another "killer, oxygen-deprived, sweaty, lying on the floor after the workout" day, but it's the day before rest day, so it will be fine. Monday the gym is closed, but my boy (he is 12) has already volunteered to train me that day. He says we're heading up to the school yard, to see if I can get my kipping pull-up. How cute is that boy? Let's see...the boy's cat, the one with the mucky eye, is doing better. He had some kind of abcess/infection thing going on, but I can't afford the "veterinary opthalmologist" my vet suggested, so we went with plan B, which was to give him a shot of serious antibiotics, then I bought a few prednizone tablets, to keep the antibiotics working a little longer, or better, something like that. The swelling is way down, and his eye looks almost normal today, plus he's eating and drinking normally, so I'm hopeful that the treatment is going to work. Update on the Challenge and my goals: Well, first time I've set a weight goal in a long time, and all my weight did was go up, lol! I've been stuck in 171-land for a week. TOM finally showed up today, though, so hopefully, the higher weight was just the usual pre-TOM bloat, and I'll start to see some better numbers on the scale now. I'm pretty close to my goal, so I don't expect record weight loss, but I'm trying hard to do better than 2 lbs a month! Haven't made much progress on my other goals, but am working on them. Often, the workouts at my gym just shred my shoulders and/or my grip, so it's hard to work on either the handstands or the pull-ups. I did scope out some youtube videos late last night, to try and get some ideas on the handstand kick-up, so I will try some of those ideas, to see if they help any. |

Hi Everyone! I've stuck to the game plan the past 2 days with the exception of last night's dinner. It wasn't terrible but could have been better.
It's a beautiful day so i plan on swimming and yoga today. Later, Paul McCartney is playing an outdoor concert and I'm lucky enough to have VIP seats!! Pretty excited about that and I will be having a few drinks and snacks outside on a Halifax patio in a few hours, preshow. :D I started clipping magazine pictures to make a vision board. I ended up with a ton of healthy looking food, fit people, tennis and running shots, yoga, and beach-y type clips. It wasn't done with the intention of motivating weight loss but it looks like it will. Has anyone every made a vision board for weight loss before? How did it look, and did it help? |
Quote:
I make a vision board every year, but never with the specific intention of losing weight. I love my VB, and have it hung up where I can see it every morning and when I do my yoga. I find it helps keep me focused on my goals. Good luck with yours! |
I think I am going to change my goal. The weight is still not going down, after skyrocketing up after last weekend. So, my starting weight for the goal is off by a couple pounds.....and I worry that my end goal will be too lofty. So, I am restarting today!!! I am 195 right now and hope to be 185 by Labor Day. It's actually the same amount of weight loss that I am hoping for (give or take a pound), but the numbers are different.
|
Yucky. I've remained the same weight for three days. It's unlike me, but it's not totally unheard of. And then my therapist (yes... I see a therapist... long story :( ) was sort of shocked to hear that I am working out 1-1.5 hrs per day on a sprained ankle. She thinks that I should be doing 30 minutes max. I would gain weight on that! Would I have to eat even less?
Today I have exercised 100 minutes so far. I have the house all to myself later on, so I *may* do more. That's debatable. I'm a little in pain. The naproxen is not doing much. Anyway, here's what I've done so far: 30 mins kickboxing 45 mins Dance bowling (intense!) 45 mins water jogging/swimming... I would have done more, but I was in the pool all by myself. Got kinda lonely :( MrsLovett |
1 hike down!
Went for a 2.5 hour hike today. SHould have left earlier than 10am, it got kind of hot but I'm glad to have done it! |
Hello~Been a few days since posting~
Not feeling well today.(i hope it aint the swine flu~It's in OHIO ~not too far from here and I am worring.) Anyways~I am at least back down to 192.4 today~ As my ticker has said since last week....I am on plan as always and even added in extra exercises and walking longer amounts of time...But I was stuck in the 193's For around a week...Weird. I am trying to adjust my calories a little bit also. From 1375 to 1400 to 1325 to 1350. I think i need an adjustmnent after 67.5 lbs and it's my time. Well I will check back in later~Glad to see everyone is doing great. I am up too about 2 1/2 to 3 hours of exercising a day NOW~SUCKS LOL I will get use to it though. Congrads to those whom are losing.GOOD JOB EVERYONE |
