Default The Six Pound Skirt

I took what they call these days a "staycation" from June 3-7. My family visited San Antonio, Texas. We stayed downtown and went to the Riverwalk, the Alamo, the Children's Museum. It was a good time and we let our hair down. I'm talking chocolate cake for breakfast, my daughter had a taste of her first Pepsi (at age 6!), we went to the Hard Rock Cafe and ate big burgers. We swam at the pool and generally relaxed. And then I came home and tried on THE SKIRT.

The skirt was purchased in January, on clearance. It's a size smaller than I would normally buy, but at the time it fit.

When I got home from staycation, I tried the skirt on to wear to "run around". It's a casual mini skirt with this cute plaid pattern. It didn't fit. In fact, I couldn't ZIP it. When I got the zipper half way up, it clung to my stomach for dear life and outlined my butt so that it looked like a table with a cloth hanging over the side. It was horrible. And I was bummed. That was June 7.

June 8, I started to do the calorie counting/exercising thing. I've lost 6 pounds. Do I wish it were more? Of course! I watch the Biggest Loser-it should be 16 lbs a week!!! But I digress, since I know what those contestants go through and I'm not living on a "ranch" working out 8 hours a day.

I'm wearing the skirt today. When I put it on and it zipped with no problem, and it didn't cling to my butt, and it didn't outline my stomach and it didn't make me look like a plaid nightmare I was so happy. Six pounds made a difference with this skirt, and it made me realize that even though the SCALE isn't moving fast enough, the changes in my body are moving along quite well.

Never give up, ladies!!! That skirt will FIT AGAIN!!!

I am always amazed how just a few pounds can make a difference. I find that I won't see a difference for a long time then suddenly some magic mark on the scale will be visably huge.

I know for me right now I have a cute somewhat tight fitting shirt that is impossibly tight and gross if I weigh 189 but at 185 is super cute and comfy. How can that be I wonder when I am 5' 7.5" and NO ONE believes my weight, how can those 4 pounds matter so much, don't know but they do!

Great job recovering from your staycation, congrats on the loss!

Thats awesome! I'm proud of you for getting right back on the wagon and not letting those few days stop you. We are going camping in a couple of weeks and I am nervous about that. Usually we eat all the bad stuff while we camp (chips, candy, sausages, bacon). I think I'll try to buy more healthier choices like baked chips, 100 calories cookies, lower fat chicken sausages..we'll see what happens.

Yay for you and the skirt! I am able to wear some cute skorts I bought several years ago that just never fit right. Now they look really nice! I am so happy!

I understand! I have 12's I can slide into now and keep wearing them everywhere. They seem to fit better now than before, but to be honest, I think it's the denim stretching. The true test will be after I've washed them again! =D
