I'm good... and quite pleased, unexpectedly. I can squeeze into 12's now (have a muffintop, but I can squeeze in) and they fit decently after I've worn them a bit and they've stretched out (albeit the muffintop). But it's the principle of the thing! And 14's fit me perfect now just after they've been washed, and are a little loose after I've worn them for a while. So that's progress. When I started out 25 pounds heavier I was SQUEEZING into my 14's, because I just didn't want to have to admit to myself that I'd gained weight. What I can't figure out now though, is how I can squeeze into 12's now, at 187, but before I gained this weight, when I weighed 175, I fit comfortably in 14's. This makes no sense to me! (I haven't been weight training so it's definitely not due to an increase of mucle). Is it possible that when you gain weight and lose it again to get back to a previous weight, your body starts distributing it a little differently than before? That's all I can think of.

I've still only lost 3lbs. My slimmer by school goal is 20lbs. Ugh.

This is great! I'm a college instructor, mostly online but I'm interviewing for a face-to-face teaching job at the end of July and if I make it through, I'll be training in August and Sept and starting to teach face-to-face around October. Even if I don't land that, I'm training for another online teaching job in July, so I'd love to start in the fall as close to goal as possible!

I'm about 30 pounds overweight, I'd love to lose at least 20 by Oct 1, so that's 15 weeks. I think that's pretty reasonable, as long as I stick with a plan. That's been my huge issue - being "good" for a few days and then breaking and binging on the weekend. It's my own fault because I've been going for "restricted" types of diets (not calories) so of course I break every time. I'm just tired of these diets! So I'm going to try to eat whole healthy foods, lots of veggies and fruits, a little chocolate every day, and not worry about "dieting" as well as exercise every day. I'd love to get down 6-10 pounds by the end of July when I have the job interview so I can feel more confident about myself.

I'm in! I'm new to this forum. I tried doing Weight Watchers from home and it has not worked in my advantage. I just started to do the calorie counters. I do not attend school, but my 3 children do and I am a teachers aid for the first 1/2 of the year. It would feel really good to feel confident for the middle school age girls I help.

So I've lost two pounds already!!! Two pounds in three days is pretty awesome!

I'm loving it so far :D

Great job Tana Banana! :D

Dietcoke - 3 # is nothing to sneeze at!!! That's 10,500 kilocalories!!! :carrot:

Way to go on the 12/14s megwini. :dizzy:

I'd like to join this group. I am a graduate student and don't really break for the summer. But, August 24 would be a good goal date for me to lose 7 pounds. I am aiming for slow, steady weight loss through changes in habits I'm willing to sustain for the rest of my life.

Good luck to everyone!

Hey, I'm in, too. I'll have to get a tickcer for this great challenge. I'm out of school but a school administrator. I work 1/2 the time in the next 2 months and we go back to school just before Labor Day...it would be nice to be slimmer when all my teachers come back in the fall.

I'm now at around 188 so my goal for September 1 is 15 pounds or about 173. Wow, that scares me. Hope I can do it. :stress:

dietcokehead98 06-21-2009 10:17 AM

Huzzzaaahh, I hit -5lbs this morning! I'll take it!

H2ODawg 06-21-2009 11:12 AM

Hi All,
trying not to get discouraged - up 2# on the scale this AM. I'm transitioning from South Beach and have added good carbs to my diet. This always happens. "TOM" could be effecting, I suppose. Have to keep the faith and keep COUNTING!! But now my goal for the summer is higher! Ugh.

I would love to join this but I'm not in school. I hope you guys can make an exception. My brother is going to school in Sept. though, if that makes a different. LOL, I'm reaching. I really want to lose as much as I can by then because I don't intend to stop losing until I get to goal. I need to figure out a realistic amount to try to lose by then. I'll come up with a number tonight or tomorrow (if I'm allowed in this challenge).
